Mariah & Nick's Newlywed Style

Here is the happy couple, making one of their first public appearances as man and wife. The twosome were spotted outside the Waverly Inn last night. They looked good together, and very happy. Mariah 's black strapless short mini is cute, and right up her alley. Nick looked sharp in his black suit, very classic. By now everyone has seen and heard about the ridiculous ring Nick gave Mariah. Terrence Howard, Phylicia Rashad and Anika Noni Rose received caricatures at Sardis, the other day. They are looked very stylish. Anika's dress was simple and chic. Terrance Howard knows no one can look as good as he does in a suit, and wore a gray tailored suit. I like the lavender tie he paired with it. Phylicia Rashad looked good. Her royal blue metallic top was a nice color choice for her.

Vivica Fox hit the red carpet at the Michael Awards in New York last night. She looked stunning in this turquoise dress. I love the deep purple belt she wore. It is different and a bit of a fashion risk, but that is why I like it. Nia Long and Miss USA, Crystle Stewart both looked absolutely amazing as well. The red dress on Nia was seductive, and glamorous. Crystle's ombre dress was trendy, and complimented her skin tone well.

A few days ago Magic Johnson was awarded the USA Today Hollywood Heroes Award for all his philanthropy work. Many celebrities came out to honor Magic, and did it in style. Kanye West has been working on a new clothing line named, Pastelle, for awhile. It is now being reported that Ksubi will also be designing a line of sunglasses, for Pastelle. The sunglasses will also feature a pair of limited edition gold frames, priced around $2,000. Below are some current frames by Ksubi. They are definitely hot, and the ones for Pastelle will no doubt look even flyer.

Last night Jay-Z threw a party at his club, 40/40 in New York. This party exuded style, and the three pictured below were all scene stealers. Beyonce looked chic in her all black dress, and still glowing from her recent nuptials. I love her long layered Chanel necklace, and her black and white shoes. Jay-Z looked so presidential in his suit. So fresh and so clean, men take notes on how it should be done. Joy Bryant redeemed herself from the not so hot Pucci dress she wore to the MET gala. Her all black dress is sexy, and what I am used to seeing her deliver.

There were some stylish celebs in attendance at the Sport Museum Of America opening night gala, in NYC last night. Eddie's former wife, Nicole Murphy and her man, Michael Strahan looked very chic. They complimented one another's outfit very well. Newly crowned Miss USA, Crystle Stewart was also there. Her dress was very cute, and the collar was very unique. ANTM past contestant, Camile from cycle 2 was there in a very casual looking outfit. She looks out of place a bit compared to the other guest.

Yesterday Ne-Yo and Nicole Scherzinger were spotted leaving the Ivy, after having lunch together. I am assuming that this lunch date was music related, but who knows and who cares. I am more concerned with the bad fashion choices both celebs made. Ne-Yo looks better than Nicole style wise, but I am not feelin' his hat or necklace with that outfit. Nicole looked like she was in a bohemian mood. The cutest item on her was the black sweater jacket. Her dress however looked doughty, and I have no words for the sandals she wore.

Yesterday was one of the most fabulous fashion events of the year, "Superheroes : Fashion and Fantasy " Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum. This was a star studded event, and the majority of those who attended looked elegant, sophisticated, and of course chic. Mary J. Blige in a strapless black ballgownPaula Patton radiates in a gold form fitting dressVenus Williamson with Andre Leon Talley. Both looking very stylish.Andre 3000 looking dapper, however the straw hat could have been left at home.Beyonce glowing and looking absolutely fabulous.Janet Jackson was a vision in this white dress. Her man, Jermaine Durpri looked very sleek in his all black suit.Still on the fence with this geometric print dress on Joy Bryant. It is so obvious that Tia is the more stylish twin, than her sister Tamera. Last week Tamera was spotted in a hideous homely looking dress, but this week Tia looks gorgeous in this all white dress. Tia's dress is feminine, and sexy. It looks like it has a Grecian inspired design to it. White is a good color on her, and she looks fabulous. There is one eye-sore, the loud chunky yellow bangle. Bangles are definitely in style, however it takes away from this outfit a bit.

Bad Fashion @ Kentucky Derby

During this past weekend's Kentucky Derby , there were many parties being thrown. Lynn Whitfield and Gabrielle Union attended a party thrown by Playboy and Crown Royal. I am so disappointed at Lynn. The dress she is wearing is not age appropriate, and the top of the dress is very revealing. I am not sure why Gabrielle decided to wear that jacket with her dress. The whole outfit would've looked more stylish without it.

Would you where this dress? Honestly! Here is Jordin Sparks on the set of her latest video. This dress is an interesting wardrobe choice. I like the green color, it looks good on her skin tone, and she is right on trend with the ombre fad that has been seen everywhere lately. The empire cut of the dress is not flattering on her, it almost makes her looks pregnant. Her shoes are very cute, but wearing them with this outfit is a mistake. There is way to much green. It is overkill.

Normally I love what Gabrielle wears to events, but this ensemble is not one of my favorites. I know that one of the main items a woman should wear at the Kentucky Derby is a large hat, but this one looks like the Mad Hatter hat from Alice and Wonderland. It also does not look good with her dress. The dress is ok, but I am very dissapointed that she did not tie her wrap dress properly. If you look closely there is a hole on her side. This is not a tear, but the hole where the sash is suppose to go through. Gabrielle please fire your stylist.

Yesterday actress Thandie Newton attended the 10th Anniversary Lavender Trust party in Claridges, London. As you can see in the first picture the top half of her dress looks very stylish, and sexy, but then you get a view of the full dress. What is going on below the waist? This is one of the most deceiving dresses I have seen in awhile. The multi-colored fabric paired with the black sequence above just looks odd. Not feelin' it at all, but still love ya Thandie.
