I'm back, ladies. Did you miss me? Well I certainly missed sitting in front of my trusty computer to write a few sage words about our favorite fashion obsession. My grandmother is still recuperating from a tough week of surgery and post-op treatments so my posting schedule will be a bit sparse for the next couple of weeks, but I will be updating several times a week.While I was sitting at the hospital, I couldn't help but notice all the lovely handbags that crossed my path. Who knew I'd see such a varied collection of designer handbags at a hospital! I admired the selections I chanced upon - mostly Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Prada - but one detail which kept coming to my attention was the total absence of color among the yummy arm candy parade. Here are just a few designs from Marc Jacobs ' Spring '08 handbag collection. Several of his more successful styles have returned clad in new candy-color hues. The rest of the collection is comprised of styles seen on the runway during his NYC show. I'm still apprehensive about the unique 'Serafima' until I see it in person. My personal favorites are the 'Lui' hobo, 'Rana Pouch' or "frog bag" for all the non Spanish-speaking fashionistas out there and 'NS Frame' bag. The infusion of color in this particular collection is a welcome choice from Jacobs. Overall, I approve of the new additions to his repertoire. Two of my all-time favorite handbag designs, the Fendi Selleria and Valentino Histoire, have received rather suspect make-overs from their respective houses for the upcoming resort season. By suspect I mean awful. Visually, they're as unappealing as a root canal without anesthesia.Let's begin with the Fendi Sequined Baulotto Grande Selleria Bag. Fendi continues their fall collection's debacle straight into resort with this nauseating design. White zucca-print leather (alone, not bad) is covered here and there with a barrage of multicolored sequins (very bad!). There is not much I can elaborate on with this bag, The overall style remains the same. It's a shame they insist on trashing one of their best selling styles in such a manner.
