2007-08-11 04:26:00 In a sea of useless, “everybody wants to be a star” podcasts, we have found this little gem. We have quite possibly found the best talk radio podcast out there and we might just be addicted. There’s nothing mediocre about it. Listen for yourself….
Back in Seat 1A
2007-07-12 08:30:00 I’m packed and ready to go! Okay, let’s be honest, I never actually unpacked, I just pulled my dirty clothes out and washed them but regardless, I will be getting on a Chicago bound plane in the morning. On the agenda: Irazu Oatmeal Shake (in case I haven’t mentioned this 1000 times, nothing compares), Millenium Park, ... More About: Music , Travel , Food , Seat , Places
I Did Make It Back?.
2007-07-10 08:12:00 I know it probably seems like I left for the Pacific Northwest and never returned. I am, in fact, back in Richmond. It was a long fourth of July flight back sitting near a grown man that had apparently had some digestive problems followed by delays and fuel dumping (the plane, not the man) - ... Really Cruel or Really Thoughtless?
2007-06-26 23:56:00 Eerie Feeling. I don’t know if Delta Airlines is aware of it but their boarding music today while I was getting on my flight from Atlanta to Seattle was the theme music from the HBO series Six Feet Under. I am sure that was really comforting to anyone that may have been afraid to fly. ... More About: Food , Travel Tips , Cruel , Really , Ally

Lost Richmond - Exploring Elko Tract, Richmond?s ?Lost City?
2007-06-18 03:38:00 Richmond is a town of history. Everything is historic… the streets, the buildings, the canals, the houses.. its almost overload to the point where there’s so much history no one really pays attention to it on a daily basis because its just there. About a decade ago, I began hearing stories out of Richmond East-enders ... More About: Lost , Travel , Places , City , Richmond
Always Connected - The Good and The Bad.
2007-06-12 23:07:00 Don’t get me wrong, I am a multi-tasker that’s completely addicted to the internet. My computer is always on and when I am away from home I have my handy Cingular 8525 (which, by the way, I love more than any other SmartPhone/PDA I have had) in my hand. The thought of being “unconnected” leaves ... More About: Travel , Gadgets , Travel Tips , Good , Connect
My Memorial Day Trip?
2007-06-08 02:38:00 The first bit of criticism I will take is for my tardiness in posting this. I have, after all, been home for over a week. The second criticism I’ll take is for telling you where I was… in Kalamazoo, Michigan at a Moped Rally. Yes, I said moped rally. Laugh all you want, we even ... Around the office?.
2007-06-04 21:41:00 We have this joke about the razor industry and their relentless attempts to add more and more blades in creating the ultimate razor. If by ultimate they mean highest priced, they just may be succeeding but I believe anything beyond three blades is pretty uncalled for and a waste of money. So, this cartoon from ... Computer Shaving
2007-03-28 04:32:00 USB charging certainly can come in handy but I am on the fence about this one. There is a Rechargeable USB shaver available now through http://usb.brando.com.hk/. Geek vs. Gadget
2007-03-18 05:00:00 I am a big fan of little multipurpose tools. I have no idea why. Their function is never as great as the full size individual tool. And They?re Off?
2007-03-05 00:37:09 Alright, I’m going to let you guys in on another “insider” secret. We (Destination) will be awarding our first annual Trip Legend Award this April to encourage and reward audacious travel adventures by honoring the most legendary trip of the previous year, inspiring others to explore beyond the standard conventions of recreational travel. We researched the web and read numerous travel stories and have decided that this year’s award will be given to Zach Levenburgh and Graham French of who, in 2006, set foot on a voyage to ; the longest moped trip in history. Their five month, 13,000 mile trip to the southern most tip of South America at speeds of around 30 miles per hour is a testament that travel is not solely about the destination. So you are probably wondering why I am telling you this a month ahead of time? turns out, Zach and Graham shot video of their entire trip last year in hopes of producing a movie documentary. Their documentary dre... More About: They
Cool Food Dude
2007-03-05 00:37:09 Sometimes, when you’re overcome by illness and have no other choice but to spend your day bundled up and sipping soup. You might also spend that sick day watching a lot of television like I did last evening. I was pleasantly suprised that the Travel Channel has an amazing new show “Bizare Food s with Andrew Zimmern“. The show seems like a brain child between the Travel Channel and the Food Network, following Zimmern to a regional location and watching him visit interesting sites and eating even more interesting foods. The best thing about the show is Zimmern. He is larger frame man with bald head (i’ll have to send him a Destination-Nation Gift Box with the Route 95 New England Bald Head Wash) that has an iron stomach and he’s not pretentious or cocky about easting any of the bizarre items he comes across. And he comes across some very amazing foods in the episode I viewed he bit the head of a WHOLE fried baby chicken. Not all the food is one the Fear... More About: Dude , Cool , Koban
More Fun With Lasers
2007-03-05 00:37:09 Philips is currently patenting a device that uses light to send hair follicles to sleep, making skin smooth for weeks at a time, without shaving or waxing. Researchers at Philips? Lab in Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, have found that short, weak pulses of near infrared light causes follicles to change from their natural growing state to a dormant state, known as the “telogen phase”. The Philips device uses light from a halogen lamp. Pulses lasting 15 milliseconds each are filtered so that only 600-950 nanometre wavelengths reach the follicles below. Moving the device slowly over the skin spreads about 15 joules of light energy onto each square centimetre. A sensor can also be used to automatically adjust treatment intensity to suit different skin and hair types. Three treatment sessions, over the course of two weeks, reduces hair growth by 90%, Philips claims. More About: Fun , Lasers , Laser , With , More
Phone Swapping
2007-03-05 00:37:09 If you think that cell phone contract with a company other than Cingular will prevent you from getting a new iPhone without paying ridiculous contract cancellation fees, there may be hope?. Cell Trading. If your willing to actually give up your current provider for Cingular, try Celltradeusa.com or CellSwap per.com, services that help you transfer your contract responsibility to someone else and effectively walk away without paying a hefty penalty. All you do is set up a profile listing details about your provider, contract, phone, accessories and any incentives you care to add. Then you wait to be contacted by a Celltrade user who wants to take over your contract. In other words, it’s a matchmaking service. The actual transfer of contract responsibility, with all its required credit approvals and completion of forms, is handled by you and the other party. There is a nominal fee of $15-20 to actually connect you with interested parties (though you can gauge interest in your pla... More About: Wap , Ping
Its a Laptop - Its Supposed to be Travel Friendly
2007-03-05 00:37:09 Two short weeks after I got my new computer last year, I was in L.A. traveling on business. After a long day of work, I went back to my room at The Standard Hotel, grabbed a overpriced, three dollar bottle of Orange Crush out of the mini bar and sat down near the desk to do some work. Sitting about 2-3 feet away from my new computer, I open the soda and it makes a bee line out of the bottle for the keyboard of my laptop. A mad dash for a towel ensued and in the end, I was without a working mousepad. The day it happened it was much more dramatic? my new computer, it was too late to go out and buy a mouse, I had a bunch of work I needed to get done?. All the usual suspects. Since that night, my laptop has obviously never been the same. Something is lost when you have to unwind a mouse cord and plug it in every time you want to use the computer. In my L.A. desperation, I bought the first mouse I could find but recently I have been looking for something more portable. I came across the ... What Time is it in Kalamazoo?
2007-03-05 00:37:09 If you travel a lot, or make lots of calls outside your timezone, and you are like me, you spend an enormous amount of time trying to figure out what time it is where. And if your like me, you usually calculate it wrong. Moss has a great idea in their World Time Clock. This 12 sided clock has a city in each time zone placed along the outside which denotes the 12 o’clock marker for the city on the face. Now if I could only remember what cities are near the 12 cities on the clock. More About: What , Hat , Kala , Lama
Not Your Typical Airline Food
More articles from this author:2007-03-05 00:37:09 There are a million, zillion airline miles programs out there. Pick an airline and run with it. Years ago I picked USAirways as my preferred airlines. Not because they were superior in service or anything but I found myself traveling with them the most … so I picked them - it wasn’t really an educated choice but it works.Anyways, USAirways has all sorts of programs available. The newest one that I found gives me miles when I use my debit card (or and card i designate) at participating restaurants. The best thing is, they have a ton of restaurants in their program so I don’t have to choose my dining experience on who will give me miles. Instead, I use my debit card every time I eat out and at the end of the month I am delightfully surprised at how many miles I have automatically accrued. Basically what I am saying is pick and airline and maximize every miles opportunity they offer. Have fun, shop, eat good food and get free tickets. Sounds like a good plan to me. - a More About: Food , Your , Line , Airline , Pica 1, 2 |
