Presenting: Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer Coll ection 2008(Images via Style)We're all used to seeing Marc Jacobs and his quilted leather structured bags more often than not, and for most of us, that sort of look has become synonymous with the designer himself, his trademark look. For Marc Jacobs's Spring/Summer '08 Collection, as shown at Olympus Fashion Week this week, there seems to be much less quilted leather bags. Instead, Marc Jacobs's usually simple and functional-looking bags have taken an interesting twist, in terms of both colour and design. For his S/S'08 Collection, transparency seems to be a key theme, as we saw oversized quilted frame purses with Granny Purse Kiss-Lock Closures attahed onto square netted (hence, transparent) totes with leather trims (that look a little Hermes-like on top). Today, we at Bagfetish Unleashed bring to you Oscar De La Renta's S/S '08 Coll ectionBagaholic Babe has noticed 2 things: Firstly, that Exotics such as Snake and Croc are still very 'in', and that De La Renta is riding on the Ethnic/Tribal-inspired vibe that Dior sports in their F/W '07 Collection. BRITISH brand Mulberry definitely has a thing for collaborations. The quirky print from Julie Verhoeven for Mulberry. Last season, the brand teamed up with British designer Giles Deacon for a capsule collection that saw the normally classic label walking on the wild side with lots of punk styles. This season, British eccentricity comes into play through a collaboration with artist and designer Julie Verhoeven. I know that our Splurges of the Week so far, have been very yummy-looking bags that you'd love to Splurge on, but just for this week, we're doing things rather differently. For, this week's Splurge of the Week also doubles up as a 'Love It or Hate It' post, simply because I can't decide whether I love this bag or hate it. I guess you could call it a love-hate relationship with the bag on my part? There are times when I look at this bag and think, hm, it's quite unique and that perhaps the look of the bag is growing on me. Other times, however, I look at this bag and think "Gross!". When we first blogged about Anya Hindmarch's "I'm Not a Plastic Bag" early this year, we also mentioned that Hermes has also gone green. For all you Hermes fans out there, here's a look at the new Eco-Friendly Bag by Hermes. Marc Jacob s 'Sofi' Hobo I don't usually like bags that look like this, but somehow, this Marc Jacobs 'Sofi' Hobo is so simple but yet it gives off that 'expensive' and classy vibe, if you know what I mean. Just love the complementary colour combination! Yes, gold and white looks better but this slightly Metallic earthy shade (Wheat) with the gold is just as pleasant to the eye!
