The first thing that came to my mind was Tetris -- look at how the dissimilar pieces come together to form a compact structure.I was never good at Tetris, always a millisecond too late with the weirdly-shaped pieces that look like 2 and S. As you might have expected, comments got a little heated - there were opponents (such as me) who thought that bag was way too feminine, and then there were vehement defenders who believed that there should be no gender boundaries when it comes to bags and purses.I am of the opinion that gender boundaries exist in society, and whether you like it or not, sometimes you have to abide by them. I'm not saying this invisible line is absolute, but just as a professional can't go into work wearing a pink tutu and purple spandex, a man can't carry that bag without taking into account how people perceive him. It's one thing to be seen as edgy or "metrosexual" - it's another to be considered a borderline cross-dresser.Unless you are one...then I guess this would be a dead issue.

[Click for cropped screenshot]Looks like someone at Samsonite passed around an email with a link to my post about the Bayamo briefcase.In case they ever come back, I would like to succinctly reiterate the readers' (as well as my) sentiment: The bag looks repulsive and is designed poorly, and the fact that it is "Black Label" (denoting higher standards) is an embarrassment and will ensure the continual relegation of the Samsonite brand to the lower-middle tier from which the "Black Label" collection obviously tries to exit.The website says the briefcase is out of stock. Out there somewhere in Independence, Missouri and Austin, Texas are savvy businessmen with heinous-looking bags. To them I say, "Throw away the Samsonite garbage, and get your hands on a Bill Amberg briefcase pronto."
