Thanks for the heads up, Ernesto! We have updated the platform name from Apollo to Adobe AIR. Yes, we know that there are no AIR widgets in the gallery at the moment, but the platform looks promising so we'll not be deleting it for a while ;) [b]Your Widgipedia Team[/b]

I'll give you some feedback: - when submitting flash widgets it says "the file size must not exceed 10MB", I think more than 100kb for a flash widget is just a bit too much so I would change the size limit to 500kb at the most! - the ajax feature to select the sort of widget you want to upload and when you roll over this one expands and the rest collapse is actually not too user friendly; have happened to me more than once that while filling in the rest of the form, by mistake I roll over one of the other options and its annoying to take the mouse again and roll over the one you need... don't worry about making us click one button, we are used to select with a click instead of a mouse over event. the last thing, when a user comes to our widgets page, he or she sees a thumbnail of the widget but being this web widgets, I guess it would be better if what they see is the widget itself and they can interact with it without the need of clicking on "get widget" and...

two things: - how about our favourites widgets? I remember the old profile page showed them. - something that could be really handy is that if someone leaves a comment on your profile you will be notified via email so you can come and add a reply, otherwise happens what happened to me, I have some really old messages and never replied to them as I didn't noticed them and now might be a bit too late :S and by the way, RADU!!! check your widgipal requests ;) salut

last time I searched for Apollo widgets there were none so I guess it is better if you either delete this option or update it as Adobe has changed the name from Apollo to AIR (adobe integrated runtime). I managed to build a couple of things using Apollo (AIR when in alpha) but with the new AIR beta I haven't had luck :( hey and don't forget to update the blog ;) salut

As of today, all our community members can have their [b]personal profile page[/b] at Widgipedia! We bet it's a nice surprise for you guys :), and we wish to thank you so much for staying with us and helping our community grow! As we said many times in the past, Widgipedia is so much more than just a widgets gallery: it's also a community of widget passionates, a place where people discuss, learn or teach about widgets - no matter if they are developers or widget users. Through the addition of the [b]profiles[/b], we want to offer our community members a way to better know each other, to our developers a way to become known to the community, to our users a way to show who they are, what they like or to ask for a particular widget. Apollo at Widgipedia

Starting of today, Widgipedia supports widgets based on Apollo runtime. It's a long time since we didn't post to this blog, but trust us guys, there are a lot of goodies that we've been working on in this time at Widgipedia and you'll see them very soon on the site! For now, we're happy to let you know that we have added [b]support for Adobe's Apollo runtime[/b]. The support is available both for Windows and Mac platforms. Apollo is a runtime that allows you to run desktop widgets written in Flash. Or, more detailed, Apollo is a cross platform runtime that allows developers to leverage their existing web development skills (Flash, Flex, HTML, Ajax) to build and deploy desktop rich Internet applications.
