On August 19th we open our new www.shop-script.com website which will be fully dedicated to WebAsyst Shop -Script . At the time of the new website release WebAsyst Shop-Script beta period will finish and software will be officially available on sale. New version is already being used by many customers worldwide. With time WebAsyst Shop-Script will replace Shop-Script PRO and PREMIUM versions. WebAsyst Issue Tracker upgrade

Today we have released a newly enhanced WebAsyst Issue Tracker . New features: New view added to the issue list – « group issues by projects». This allows you to display issues linked with different projects in the same list. The feature is useful for those who work on several projects at a time and wish to see all their issues. Now you can add issues not linked to any project. Added “Add Comment” feature. All comments are linked to issues and accessible in the issue’s history. Add, edit, and forward issue functions have been enhanced and work much faster – they do not require reloading of the issue list anymore. «Issues» tab has been added to the WebAsyst Projects service. This makes it easy to switch to issues related to a project without leaving Projects service. Project manager can now manage assignments directly from the Add Issue form. WebAsyst Shop -Script has been updated today. New features: New templates that were previously available only in Shop-Script PREMIUM — Glamour, Sci, Computer Store — are now added to WebAsyst Shop-Script. Now WebAsyst Shop-Script offers 13 built-in design templates. Export orders to a CSV file (Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice Calc). Notify customers upon order actions. When order status is changed, administrator can easily send notification to customer on this action with the ability to add optional comment. This is especially useful when shipping products and sending tracking number to customer. We added several useful functions to WebAsyst Shopping Cart online store builder service: 9 new design templates. New design templates are available in your online store backend on “Design” screen. We have introduced new great feature to our WebAsyst Files service. Now you can edit your documents and spreadsheets with just one click with the help of Zoho online services. You no longer need to download your files first, edit them on your desktop computer, then upload back to your WebAsyst account. Simply click Edit online link to trigger edit mode in new window. Expanding content area to the entire screen

We have redesigned the Hide/Show Folders feature. There is a small “X” icon on the Folders pane caption. By clicking this icon you can hide the folder pane and expand main content area to the entire width of your browser. This function now utilizes AJAX and works quickly, without reloading the page. To see the Folder pane again, click the small icon that appears next to the folder name, as shown in the sample below: Some operations automatically reopen the Folders pane if it was previously hidden; e.g. Add Folder, Rename Folder, Add Link/Widget, etc., and usually move you out of the current folder. The auto-opening Folders pane simplifies navigation, and helps you to avoid confusion by clearly showing your new position in the Folders tree.

Enhanced Send Email Function

In the latest WebAsyst Files upgrade we have replaced old Send Email page with new AJAX-based dialog. It contains “select from My Contacts” link that pops down My Contacts window with Search feature and more usable navigation between available user groups, contact folders, and contact lists. In order to add contact to your recipient list in Send Email dialog, you have to double-click this contact in My Contacts. You can double-click entire Contact List – all contacts from this list will be added to recipients. You can also manually type email addresses into To: box.

We have added several new handy features to WebAsyst Photos slideshow. To see the actual slideshow presentation, click the picture below: Here is the summary of the new features: Slideshow speed Indicate how long you want your slideshow images to stay open before the next slide is displayed. 3 seconds is the default time. Click “-“ or “+” to increase or decrease the speed. Show/hide image name and description Image name and description appear right on the actual photo. Click “hide descriptions” if you don’t want name and description to be displayed. Click “show descriptions” to bring them back up Show/hide control panel Your control buttons do not have to cover part of your image any more – control panel disappears if you mouse is not moved for 3 seconds. Is there AJAX security risk when using WebAsyst web services?

We have recently added several improvements to WebAsyst by utilizing AJAX technology. Since AJAX functions are written in JavaScript, it requires that WebAsyst users set their browser to allow JavaScript running on their computer. This in turn has caused some of our clients to raise JavaScript security concerns. Some fear that a webpage containing JavaScript code can potentially be vulnerable to privacy attacks, clearing a way to retrieve someone else’s Internet cookies or other sensitive information. These are fair questions, especially if your database is hosted on a server other than your own (as it is in the case of WebAsyst hosted users). There exist several security issues in web development technologies that can potentially create security problems. However, most of them (Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Security Forgery (XSRF)) are not unique to AJAX. They have been known and worked on before. Easy way to share files with others

In our recent upgrade we have introduced a new feature that provides you with an easy and elegant way to share selected files or an entire folder with other people. Go to your WebAsyst Files account to select files you want to share, and click “Create a Link” option: During file link creation step, you can choose how your file list will appear. There are four options you can select from: Grid. Tabular format where file attributes appear in different columns. List. Large icon along with file name and description. Thumbnail List. Displays thumbnail (small image) and file description. Thumbnail Tile. Just thumbnails one by one. Once your link is created, you can email it to any number of recipients. Or you can just copy/paste this link to send it using any instant messaging program, e.g. AIM or Skype. Service interruption due to an upgrade

We are going to release a major WebAsyst upgrade on Thursday, 08/30/2007. This upgrade will require turning off WebAsyst server temporarily from 4 am to 5 am EDT. The New Full Screen Feature

We have added the Full Screen feature to WebAsyst. Now every WebAsyst page includes the “Full Screen” button on the top right corner of the window: Click on the button to switch you WebAsyst account to the full screen mode. The working window of the current WebAsyst service will occupy the entire screen. The top logo panel and the toolbar on the bottom of the screen are not displayed, so is the main menu on the left (if you are not using bottom screen toolbar). To switch the full screen mode off, click “Full Screen Off” on the top right corner: Many WebAsyst users have wanted to see this feature in their accounts. It can especially be useful if you work with low resolution computer screen. In this case WebAsyst window occupies the entire screen and you are not distracted by the panels on the top, on the bottom, or on the side of the working window. Users who work primarily with one service (or rarely switch between the services) can also benefit from the Full Screen option.

UPGRADE: AJAX Utilization and New File Posting Feature

The first WebAsyst service to be redesigned utilizing AJAX technology is WebAsyst File s. AJAX allows faster exchange of information without reloading page content between website and server. This improvement is clear when browsing files. Every time you click a new folder name in the folders list, the file list pane is updated. However, the entire page is not reloaded; therefore, folder switching and content update is considerably faster. Handling WebAsyst personal and system settings

WebAsyst allows you to set and modify a number of personal and system preferences. These settings affect system appearance, formats, and properties. Person al settings If given an access, a user can specify and modify personal settings. They become effective immediately and apply only to the user who specified them. The following settings are available by clicking My WebAsyst from the main menu: Change password – enter and confirm your new password to login WebAsyst. Look & Feel – preview and select a theme and menu layout of user interface. Preferences – change your name and email notifications properties, select language of WebAsyst interface, and indicate start page selected from the drop-down list to be displayed when opening your account (Tips & Tricks by default). Quick Note s includes a collection of print templates, which allow notes to be displayed in a printer friendly format. You can print a single note, all notes included in a selected folder, or all notes from Quick Notes application using the same template: Every print template design includes personalization variables; i.e. a placeholder that corresponds to a note property (note subject, attached file names, date, note author, etc.). When a user clicks Notes -> Print from Quick Notes main window and selects notes to print and a template, variables from the selected templates are substituted with the corresponding note properties. Mail Master includes a collection of over twenty message templates. Template in Mail Master is an email with preloaded message body. You can find greetings, announcements, acknowledgements, notices and many more – a variety of messages used often in business and personal communication. Templates are stored in the folder Templates, they are marked with blue and have a status Template. A messages with Template status cannot be sent out directly. Instead you can base your message on a selected template and save it. It automatically receives Draft status and only then it can be sent out to its recipients.
