Banks urge customers to review transactions done with Hannaford

Hannaford shoppers have been left wondering what they should do to protect themselves in the wake of a data breach that potentially compromised more than 4 million credit and debit card accounts. Banking industry experts recommend that customers who shopped with a card at Hannaford since early December should meticulously review the account activity related to that card and report suspicious purchases to their banks. The experts also said consumers shouldn’t rush to close their accounts and open new ones if they haven’t seen fraudulent activity in their accounts. In nearly all cases, the industry executives said, the banks will pick up the loss for the consumers as long as the banks are notified of the problem and it’s clear the loss in question was caused by the data breach. “If you shopped at Hannaford, review your (account) statement to see if there is anything unusual going on in your account,” said Richard Spencer, the chief financial officer at Mutual Bank in Whitman...

Supermarket In NH Reports Security Breach & Fraud

Banking and consumer groups heaped criticism on Hannaford Bros. yesterday, after learning the supermarket chain remained mum for more than two weeks about a security breach involving millions of credit and debit card numbers. About 1,800 cases of fraud have been reported.Hannaford said it only knew in the last day or two exactly what had happened.Hannaford yesterday announced that the breach involved all of its 165 stores in the Northeast, 106 Sweetbay stores in Florida and a smaller number of independent groceries that sell Hannaford products. Unique credit and debit card numbers potentially exposed to fraud amount to 4.2 million, the company said. Explosive Found At New Hampshire Historic Site

NEW CASTLE, N.H. Two unknown incendiary devices were found this morning at a bunker at Fort Stark and detonated this afternoon by members of the N.H. State Police Explosives Disposal Unit."It was not a hoax," said New Castle Police Chief James Murphy. "We have every reason to believe it was an incendiary device of some sort." Police were called to Fort Stark after two men walking in the area saw what police said was a suspicious object in one of the bunkers there.Local and state police arrived shortly thereafter and are still on the scene. Early this afternoon, the devices were detonated and will be taken back to the state police lab in Concord.Members of the Explosives Disposal Unit remain on the scene. After a search of the grounds and other bunkers at Fort Stark they believed the area to be safe."It brought quite a bit of alarm to the area," Murphy said.

A Russian supermarket worker branded the chessboard murderer has been found guilty of killing 48 people. Alexander Pichushkin has never denied the murder charges and instead boasted that he fell in love with killing. He also says he has actually killed around 60 people in all, which would make him Russia's most prolific serial killer.The jury at the Moscow City court has announced its verdict in relation to the case against Alexander Pichushkin. The Video I made of the Pisstakers , MyBlogLog Sunday (Week 29) was great !You Might want to UPS (Over-nite) Ed some tissue's before we dedicate it. He is going to need them.All entries to the MyBlogLog Contest , were included in the video with my site review of the Pisstakers. Those who did promote the Pisstakers, recieved more "Footage" and was reviewed again before "the end" of the Video.
