2007-10-24 16:09:00 Every well-respected webdesigner knows how to use a CSS file (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cascading_S tyle_Sheets). With this you can add markup to your webpage. I created a list of my personal top 22 favorite different subject CSS tutorials. They are listed below and are in random order. Read, learn and implement it on your own website. Remember that a website styles with CSS can look otherwise in different browsers. Additionally, don't forget to use the CSS Validation Service (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/) to have your CSS to the W3 standards. When you're done... More About: Tutorials
Create a hidden watermark in images
2007-10-18 17:22:00 Many websites don't want their images to be copied. The little "right-click-javascript-block" doesn't help a lot, since everybody knows how to use the "print screen" button. There is only one way to keep images yours: Adding a watermark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watermark ) to it. To protect their images, they add a line over te image with the name or ULR of the website. Advanced Photoshop users will know how to work their way around this watermark. I'll show another way of watermarking that is a little but more subtle but way more fun. Look at the image above. Looks like a nice place... More About: Images , Hidden , Create

20 Proxy sites to browse the net anonymously
2007-10-04 10:33:00 There are several reasons why you want to browse the internet anonymously. The most common reason is that when you're browsing the net, you'll leave a calling card on every website where you're from, what webbrowser you're using, what computer you use and more details. For some people this is reason enough to browse the internet hidden under a proxy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy _serve r). Additionally, these sites can be used to unblock sites such as MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/), YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/) and other sites that are blocked... Ultimate Photoshop Design Resources
2007-09-30 13:29:00 There's no doubt that I like to design. Next to coding, I also love to edit photos, designing websites etc. My personal favorite tool to achieve this, has to be Adobe Photosho p (http://www.adobe.com/go/photoshop/). Next to a good tool, you'll need some good resources. Fonts, Plug-ins such as Brushes and Textures, Stock photos can help you tremendously when designing. Here's a list of my personal favorite photoshop design resources. Fonts, Stock Photos, Patterns, some Textures and Inspiring sites do not require Photoshop. Also, always check the compatibility of the plug-in with your software; Don't download Photoshop CS3 brushes when you're using Photoshop... More About: Design , Resources , Ultimate

Hiding email addresses from spambots using CSS
2007-09-23 15:40:00 Nobody likes to receive spam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam). There are several ways to avoid your email address (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email ) found by a spambot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spambot). For example you could use HTML character entities, Javascript, CAPTCHA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAPTCHA) etc. It just makes the address readable for humans and not for spambots. Some of those techniques work better then others, but here's a new way of hiding your mail address. Simply by using CSS (http://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/) Too bad that there's just one big catch when using this technique: It doesn't work on Internet Explorer (IE) (http://www.microsoft.com/ie/) (yet). This is because IE doesn't support CSS generated content (http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS2/generate.h tml), something...
Books vs Technology
2007-09-23 14:44:00 In these days technology is everywhere. Laptops, cellphones, the television etc.; It has become part of our lives. Most people use Google (http://www.google.com/) or Wikipedia (http://wikipedia.org/) as a good information source, but you shouldn't forget the "old" way of searching for information: Books . I have to admit: When it comes to loyalty and stability, technology isn't such a good friend as a book. A book will never let you down. That fact is powerfully illustrated in the next advertations. Making comments in your source code
2007-09-20 18:29:00 Commenting is absolutely necessary when programming. It's useful to you because you won't forget what you were doing or thinking at that time. But it's expecially useful for others because they'll know how to work with your code. Every programming language has it's own way of making comments, which can be very annoying. Never had that you were making Java comments on your HTML page? Here's a small list of some programming languages with their way of commenting. Alltough CSS, HTML and MySQL aren't real programming languages, I posted them in this list because it can be useful for webdesigners. More About: Tips , Source , Comments , Code , Source Code

Absolute Beauty & Raw Power: Lamborghini Reventón & BMW X6
2007-09-17 22:43:00 First off, let's make one thing clear: This is not an autoblog and it'll probably never will be. This for the simple reason that I don't have much affection with cars. Exeptions are made when the cars are new and have a beautiful high-tech looking design, because that last thing is what I like. Another exeption is when the car has enormous power (for example the Bugatti Veyron (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugatti_Vey ron)). Well, what a coincidence: This week, on the autoshow of Frankfurt (DE) (http://www.iaa.de/), two leading carmaking brands showed off their new cars. I'm talking about the beauty of the Lamborghini Reventón... More About: Beauty , Power , Absolute
