Indian Car Maker Tata Purchase Jaguar

Car giant Ford is to sell its luxury UK-based car marques Jaguar and Land Rover to Indian company Tata. Tata, India's biggest vehicle maker, is likely to pay about $2bn (£1bn) in the deal, although analysts will be keen to see the exact price and terms. The lengthy sale process started last June when Ford announced its intention to sell the companies as a package. Jaguar and Land Rover employ about 16,000 staff at plants across the West Midlands and Merseyside. Tata accounts for more than half of the sub-continent's truck market and has about 20% of India's car market.The car workers union, Unite, has said that Tata was the preferred bidder for the company.Tata will commit to following an existing five-year plan to invest in and develop the car manufacturing businesses. Future Design Skateboard like Go-Cart Car

If you think driving like a go-cart is not a cool things to do, let's consider this. A concept design skateboard like car by Florian Dobe with 10 inches car resembles a 10:1 scale skateboard. When parked still, the two seats can fold completely flat, sealing the compartment they sit on. Dobe calls this "Sculpture Mode," envisioning the vehicle can enhance the space it's parked in. We're not sure how practical this makes it, but would still take one over the Scion Hako concept. It has been created with two distinct ?states? in mind, an open and a closed. That twist, it turns out, is that these models, dubbed "Blue Efficiency," would be modified to optimize fuel economy and not power output. So far three C-Class models have been released, in both diesel and gasoline versions. The most impressive of the group is easily the 200 CDI. This 2.2L diesel engine delivers 134 hp, 199 lb-ft of torque, and an extremely admirable 46.1 mpg (up from 38.6 in the non-Blue Efficiency model). In its Blue Efficiency line-up Mercedes employs what is called passive modifications. In the Blue Efficiency models Mercedes shaved weight with lighter windows, less sound-proofing, and a thinner windshield. To reduce aerodynamic drag the car was lowered, has part of the grill blocked, and had some protrusions like mirrors and door handles optimized. We have no idea what transportation vehicles will look like in 2025 but, if we ventured to guess, the "Embrio Advanced Concept" wouldn't appear anywhere on the list of possibilities. Call us narrow-minded, but we just don't see a one-wheeled motorcycle taking off for the masses.Designed by Canada-based Bombardier Recreational Products, it sounds something like a mashup of a motorized unicycle and a Segway--for two people, if you can believe that. "The vehicle uses sensors and gyroscopes to balance up to two passengers on a large single wheel whilst driving," according to Newlaunches, allowing the rider(s) to turn by leaning left or right. Worldcarfans caught this camouflaged BMW X6 Active Hybrid , which is slated to be BMW's first hybrid-powered coupe - yes, the BMW X6 is officially a four-door coupe, a definition shattering notions about modern-day coupes.The engine is a two-mode hybrid gasoline-electric engine developed in co-operation with GM and Daimler and should cut fuel consumption by 20 percent. Perodua Will Launch Kembara Mid of This Year

Proton is launching the New Saga today and at the same time Perodua is confident to maintaining it's 165,000 units target this year. Managing Director Datuk Syed Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar said although the Proton Saga is priced between RM30,000 and RM40,000, but it's targeted at the sedan market and will not erode Perodua's compact car. Perodua would not cut price in response to competition from Proton.
