SanDisk revealed Vaulter, a 8GB or 16GB flash drive that can hold your entire OS, designed to sit on the PCIe port inside a laptop. In Windows, this creates a separate letter drive, which speeds the hell out of your computer, without taking the place of your 2.5″ SATA-connected HDD. It’s not a Santa Rosa “Robson” thing eitherâ€”it’s a real drive, not some caching assistant. (In case you’re wondering, Mac support is coming.) Performance acceleration comes from “pre-controlling the distribution of storage data between itself and the hard drive.” The fact that it’s on the PCIe port means that both storage devices can work in parallel. Yahoo and Adobe to Put up Online Ads in PDFs

From PC World: Yahoo and Adobe will partner to allow publishers to run dynamically generated ads on PDF files posted on the Web or distributed via e-mail, opening up a new frontier in online advertising. Until now, publishers have been able to embed only static ads on PDF files, but Yahoo and Adobe are developing a system to make those documents display contextually relevant ads delivered on the fly from Yahoo’s inventory at any given time. The companies tomorrow will announce the initiative, called Ads for Adobe PDF Powered by Yahoo, and launch a limited beta program that they hope to open up more broadly later. The inclusion of pay-per-click text ads on PDF (Portable Document Format) files will give publishers another revenue-generating option for the content they have in this popular Adobe document format, said Kurt Garbe, entrepreneur in residence for advertising at Adobe. Nokia has unveiled the Nokia N81 multimedia computer, with expected availability in the fourth quarter this year. It’s likely that the N81 will ship in certain European and Asian markets first — possibly in October. There will be two versions of the Nokia N81: an 8GB model and one with a microSD expansion slot that can accept cards up to 4GB. Both N81s are built for music and gaming with a 3.5mm headphone jack and dedicated game keys (when held in landscape position). The Symbian S60 device will also work with Nokia’s newly launched Ovi Internet brand, where you can download songs from the Nokia Music Store and games from the N-Gage service. Following a strong share price rally on Monday in his three group companies â€” India’s most valued firm Reliance Industries, Reliance Petroleum and Reliance Industrial Infrastructure Ltd â€” the net worth of Mukesh Ambani rose to $63.2 billion (Rs 2,49,108 crore).
