I have been blogging for almost a year now and from the time I started blogging, my primary purpose was to promote my school online. Later I started to earn from my blog and learn different things, from SEO to blog monetizing. In my blogging journey, I started to realize how my posts affects other people. Trojans Used by Web Criminals!

Today when I tried to view this blog on the computer of my friend, the browser displays different ads on the Google Adsense & Project Wonderful area of the sidebar of this blog. I suspected that his computer is infected so I checked his computer. I was correct he was infected by a certain trojan that rewrites the web page viewed on browser. So I tried to remove it and try to view the blog again and it displays the correct ads. Now, I have read from Reuters.com about this news on the rise of trojan. According to this news, trojans are by a lot of cyber-criminals with their different criminal activities. Setup Canon PixMa iP1880 in OpenSuse / Linux

Today, I successfully configured the printer Canon PixMa IP1880 on OpenSuse 10.3 system. I setup the said printer to  OpenSuse because I want to share it to 50 computers attached to this server. I tried to install it using the YAST and select from the list of printer drivers but it does not work so I tried to look for drivers over the internet and find it on Canon's website. Here's the following steps I have done to configure properly the printer to work on OpenSuse 10.3 (the source of this instruction is from the guide provided by Canon).First, I downloaded the printer driver in RPM. I downloaded two RPM: cnijfilter-ip1800series-2.70-1.i386.rpm and cnijfilter-common-2.70-1.i386.rpm.These two RPM requires GTK & libxml to be used properly, so you need to install it through YAST. Yesterday, I have encountered two cases of severe computer virus infection on two computers. I can't remove it manually and even with the aid of virus removal tools and anti-virus programs. So I decided to reformat the PC and reinstall everything. The reason is the virus was invited or installed with the consent of the user. Why? The users of this PCs downloaded and installed a cracked anti-virus program. I don't know why did he tried to do this. Maybe he can't afford to buy the license one. Another thing is he uses a cracked Operating Systems and became more vulnerable to virus when he installed the said cracked software.That's the problem with cracked programs. Some crackers usually attached maliscious programs on their cracked programs that makes your system vulnerable to virus, worms or spywares. Problem with Wordpress 2.5

I currently updated my Wordpress blog in Freeweb7.com because I have read that the previous versions of Wordpress has some security issues and Technorati marked this sites as non-indexable because of this vulnerabilities. The problem that I encountered is when I log-in the site admin the page redirects to a blank page. I don't know if this problem is on my web hosts or on wordpress (by the way I'm using a free web hosting site with safemode on). Another problem is when I created a new post the page also redirects to a blank page. This happens when wordpress started to autosave the current posts I will try to find for solution for this kind of problem and if I can't, well I'll give up with this one blog and try to start a new blog. Back to zero I guess!

Google Adsense PIN

Today, I have just received the Google Adsense Personal Identifcation Number (PIN). It was mailed to me by Google Adsense Support directly from US. Actually, I was expecting this PIN last month so that I can complete the "enable payment" steps of Google Adsense. This only means that when my earning in Google reaches $100, I can request for the payment for this through WU Quick Cash. I hope I can reach to that earning :D. But I think it will be very difficulty for me to reach it because I still don't have my own paid domain and the Google Ads here is 50/50. Well, it's ok at least this is a good start for me on making money through Google's ad programs. Thank you for I.PH and Google as well (even G drops my PR). For those who have there own site and wishes to monetize it or you already monetizing it, please read the new policy of Google on placing adsense on your site. Knowing this policy will avoid future "DROPS" or "BAN" stat of Google. :D

Life without PR

In my search for the answer on the recent PR drop of my blog, I found out that I'm not the only one who suffer this kind of PR drop. Almost all bloggers around the world suffer this certain change. The cause of this is that Google penalizes those who were found out to be accepting paid links or who violates the golden Google rules! What will be the lost that I could have if I will be forever PR0. Well, no more good ad opportunities from blog advertising networks and advertisers who are very dependent to PRs. What can I do about this? Luckily, I also found out that there is still chance of getting the original PR to this blog. If I will just follow the rules of Google. I don't know exactly what rules I violated from the rules of Google but I guess the only thing that I can do right now is to continue optimizing it and hope that my PR will go back. I've just checked my blog today and in my surprise I found out that my blog has dropped its PageRank to Zero. This blog originally have a PageRank 3 and actually the last time I have checked my blog, which is last night, it was still PR3. Only this morning, it shows zero on the Google toolbar. I don't know what's the problem with Google today and I think I'm not the only who suffer this kind of PR drop. I've also read from some forums that aside from PR drop, several back links and indexed pages were missing from the SERPs of Google. I guess Google now is changing some on its searching algorithm and maybe it affects the compuation of PRs of blogs. Well, I can't do anything about this maybe I will just wait until Google take back the original PR of this page. For now, let it be to have a PageRank Zero!

I'm back from Aklan and as usual every time I enter chess tournaments I still can't win but still I gain something! It was really fun joining the tournament and there are really a lot of strong players who joined the chess tournament. I'll be playing chess this coming black saturday because the province of Aklan invites us to join the Regional Chess Tournament Elimination and so I'll be busy practicing chess this week. Besides, it's holy week this week so I "might" rest for a moment. I know that I'm quite old to study and be serious about chess. I just join the said event so that I can experience competitve chess tournaments in different place. The chess tournament [1] will be at Aklan so I will be staying there for three days (without INTERNET :( ). For the information of those who are interested to know, I love playing chess. I think that's the only sport that I know and enjoys playing. A Good Lawyer

I have a childhood friend in our place and we separated when we were young because his family migrated to US. Today, I got an email from him and I'm really surprised that he contacted me. Maybe he searched my name on Google and found his way on this blog and seen my email address. Selecting a pet would be a hard thing, but usually the first choice that always comes in my mind is having a dog as pet. Maybe because people consider dog as mans best friend and the easiest way to deal with. When I was young I actually take care the dog given by our neighbor. I really loved the dog very much even its breed is not so special. I even made a simple dog house with dog toilet [1] inside the house. Sadly, the dog died because of a certain accident. That's the reason why I become hesitant to get a new pet because I was really hurt by that event. But now my son is asking for a pet and I think I wil get him a dog. The Day Before Pinoy Money Talk Judgement Day

[1] It's one day before the pinoy money talk [2] keyword contest judgement day and my entry is keep on moving on page one but it changes from time to time. It's like fighting itself on the way up of the SERP but my assessment is my entry will not succeed in winning the said contest. I'm not thinking negatively but I'm just being realistic. As you can see, my pinoy money talk post is always read by Google Crawlers every 7 days. The last time it was read was March 3 and it position on page one on March 9 and by by March 10 it was read again and it falls down its rank. Now, my post by 14 will not be read by Google so the current position might not change at all because the update will happen on the 17th of March. The release of FreeBSD 7.0 was announced by FreeBSD.org last February 27. This is one of my favorite non-linux open source operating system because of its performance and stability. I will use this operating system this coming end of the semester. I will try to post the detail of my experiences on this operating system after I installed it. I'll check this latest released and I will try to compare it to the latest release of OpenSuse 10.3 and will check if it can support the new on-board ethernet card which can't be supported by OpenSuse.

Have you encountered this amvo0.dll or PWS-legMir.DLL Virus Malware (which as detected by McAfee AntiVirus)? Google Trends: Daylight Saving Time Top Search

Google Trends is another cool gadget from Google.com. It allows you to view latest search trends and from my testing this Google Trends . I found out that the top most searched keyword as of Today is daylight saving time. Maybe because US starts its daylight saving time this March and many of them don't know the real time. As far as I know DST or daylight saving time was imposed by many countries including US and the Philippines to conserve energy and I as far as I can remember, in the Philippines we use DST during energy crisis sometime on summer during Aquino or Ramos regime. I can't really remember anymore. Well, through this gadget bloggers and "link baiters" will have at least a target keyword to optimize for their page to increase it's traffic.
