This year?s N.C. State?
2008-03-12 05:11:00 Column by Patrick Hite patrick@accnation.com It’s become fashionable to look at what happened last year and assume it will happen again. 2008-02-22 19:41:00 Column by The Evil Q jim@accnation.com We’re at that point in ACC sports where the insanity of pre-tourney positioning by the women and men in basketball finds some competition from baseball, lacrosse, swimming/diving, golf, softball, tennis, track and field and wrestling to name a few. The true coach of the year
2008-02-20 16:00:00 Column by Will Ojanen will@accnation.com In a year where you could make a case for most of the ACC coaches for Coach of the Year , one coach steps to the forefront, one that wouldn’t be coaching if not for some unfortunate circumstances just a few months before the season began. Wake Forest coach Dino Gaudio was thrown into a bad situation when his good friend and coach Skip Prosser passed away in July, 2007. Gaudio was named coach a month later, amid some skepticism, citing his lack of success at previous head coaching stints at Army and Loyola of Maryland. Today, those same skeptics are praising Gaudio for the job he’s done with the team. Once thought to be the doormat of the ACC, the Deacs are in contention for a NCAA tournament bid. The Deacs proved they weren’t going to be pushed around when they won their first four games and five of their first six, and also threw in a six-game-winning streak for good measure. Currently, the Deacs are in fifth place in the... More About: True
