Subject: Colorado Rockies sweep the NLCS! - by: GoTalkSports
2007-10-16 00:00:00
Now winners of 21 of their lasat 22 games, including 7 straight playoff victories after sweeping both the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks, this Rockies team looks to be unstopable. Now the question is who is going to try? Will in be the World Series favorite Boston Red Sox who now find themselves down two games to one to the Cleveland Indians after dropping two straight games. Not likely. This Rockies team is hitting on all cylinders; pitching, hitting and defense. Combine all that with ...

2007-10-16 00:00:00
Why? Because they are still undefeated? Yet more evidence the BCS is a joke. While your standings show an impressive 7-0 (3-0 in conference), who have you beaten? Youngstown State , Akron, Northwestern, Kent St...all at home. Congratulations! You can beat low quality teams. 20-2 over Akron, at home? And Kent St? They have a football team? Who knew. Okay, so your home wins aren't that great, so that must mean you've played some tough road games, right? You must have to be slotted in that numbe...

So it looks like Colorado is about to sweep the D-backs as well. amazing. 21-1 in their last 22 games. But can they continue this streak and beat the AL Champion, looking like its going to be the Red Sox to me, in the big Series? I hope so, and luck and skill have been on the Rockies side lately. Keep it up, Rockies. You make the West look great....

It is the day of game one in the NLCS for the Diamondback s against the Rockies and still the game has yet to be sold out! Diamondback fans, what are you doing?? You have your ace on the hill tonight in Brandon Webb. The only starter to defeat the Rockies as of late and your best shot at having any sort of chance to win this series and they can't sell out? That is absolutely pathetic. I bet if the Devil Rays made it into the ALCS, they'd manage to sell out at least game one. Those of you who call yours...

Subject: Jerry Buss claims that Kobe's not untouchable - by: GoTalkSports
2007-10-13 00:00:00
When will this circus that is the Lakers and Kobe Bryant end? Just when you think the trade rumors and speculation over Kobe Bryant has subsided, WHAM!, here it is again. It's as if the NBA front office calls up Jerry Buss and the Lakers and says; Hey...umm..Dr.Buss, our TV ratings are extremely low and no one has any interest in the NBA at the moment because none of the games are interesteing until December. You think you can stir up some trade talks about Kobe so we can get some fans to pay attention ...

The Rockies took game one of the NLCS in Arizona , against Arizona's ace Brandon Webb. Not looking good Diamondback fans. Perhaps you knew your team better then the rest of us when you all decided to wait last minute to sell out your stadium, leaving nearly 12,000 open seats until the day of the game. It's looking like the National League is going to be represented by the Colorado Rockies in the 2007 World Series. The NLCS is still young and the Diamondbacks will have there chance to win this, only bei...

I agree. The Rockies are looking like the strongest team in baseball right now. And for as much as their pitching staff gets ridiculed, they have only let up a TOTAL of 9 runs in the past 4 games against a hard hitting Phillies team and a very solid hitting team in the Arizona Diamondbacks. As long as the Rockies pitching staff can mantain this high level of production, their bats will take care of the rest. Holliday and Helton are just strait scary at the plate right now. You feel like their gonna get a...

2007-10-13 00:00:00
It was reported yesterday the 80 year old Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno was involved in a minor road rage incident with a female driver. According to JoePa, he drove up alongside the woman driver who he had just witnessed blow through a stop sign, so that he could instruct her to drive more safely. I blew my horn at the person, Paterno said. The person stopped and I pulled up beside her because there was nothing coming the other way. I pointed my finger at her. I said, 'You know ...

The D-back fans let the West down even more when they caused the Rockies to take cover in the 7th inning after a clear offensive interference was called against Upton. It wasn't a bad call by any means and the fans began throwing everything on to the field. It was shameful. Thankfully the Rockies let it slide off their backs and continued on the way to victory. I don't think the D-backs stand a chance in this series, maybe the fans already know that too....

2007-10-10 00:00:00
It has only been less than 12 hours since the Yankees were knocked out yet again from the playoffs early for the third straight year and the Joe Torre debate has begun. Yankees owner George Steinbrenner made it known that if the Yankees failed to make it past the Indians, Torre was gone. The Yankees failed and so now Torre awaits his fate. He won't be getting fired , simply his contract for next season will not be getting picked up by the Yankees. Now bring out the Joe Torre apologist and fanatics. ...

--------------- THE CRAIGSLIST AD IN NEW YORK PERSONALS --------------- What am I doing wrong? Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 23 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all. Are there an...

Subject: San Diego SUPER CHARGERS! - by: GoTalkSports
2007-10-10 00:00:00
What a domination. They absolutely owned the Denver Broncos today in Denver. Handing the Broncos their biggest home loss margin since the merger of the AFL/NFL back in 1970. Philip Rivers had quite possibly the best game of his career, while Michael Turner set his career high in rushing yards, breaking off two long runs, one being for a TD. If the Chargers continue to play even three-fourths as well as they played today, they have a great shot of getting back atop the AFC West and winning the thing....

Subject: 5 USC's in the SEC?! - by: GoTalkSports
2007-10-06 00:00:00
Rich Brooks stated on the Jim Rome show earlier today that he believes there are 5 USC equivalents in the SEC. Is this guy out of his mind? You can maybe throw LSU and Florida on level ground with SC, but aside from those two, there is no other team in that SEC that deserves to hold the Trojan's jock straps. Perhaps he really meant to say there are 5 USC, University of South Carolina, equivalents in the SEC. That would be a more believable statement. Hi Rich, this is Earth. Have we met? ;)...

2007-10-06 00:00:00
This is the moment of truth for Carr . Were those years of setting season high sack records a result of an awful defensive line, or does he just flat out suck at escaping when the pocket collapses? He will have the opportunity to throw to one of the leagues top receivers in Steve Smith, if he can't make that connection work, then perhaps he should rethink his career choice and go sell some real estate....

Both Colorado and Arizona started off on the right foot yesterday in their opening games of the NLDS. Colorado took down Philadelphia and their young phenom Cole Hamels 4-2, while the Diamondbacks put fear in Cubbie fans everywhere that the curse of the goat (and Bartman) may continue yet another year by beating them 3-1. These games yesterday just go further to prove the argument the in the NL, the west is king. Although you won't find many of the east-coast biased worldwide leader in sports media...
