Michael Johnson 200 meter 1996 Atlanta Grand Prix
2008-02-25 15:50:00 Sadly, this stadium no longer exists. Well, it does, but in the form of a baseball stadium for the Atlanta Braves. The 1996 Atlanta Grand Prix was held two months prior to the Summer Olympics. So this race was “warm up” to the USATF Olympic Trials (the race where Michael Johnson won in Lane 8) In this race, Michael Johnson runs a 19.83 with Mike Marsh very close in 2nd with a respectable 19.88. And let’s not forget Kevin Little who placed 4th in 20.29! After the race, a lot of readers were questioning his attempt of the 200/400 double, even though he accomplished the feat at the 1995 World Championships The worst part of the video is The Annoying Carol Lewis doing the commentary. Chronic Back Pain Limits Brain Power
2008-02-25 04:59:00 This post was guest blogged by Jesse Cannone, CFT, CPRS. You don’t need to be a scientist to know that chronic back pain can have a negative impact on your life, often bringing with it anxiety and depression. It can affect your ability to work, sleep, and perform other daily activities. Until recently, it has been assumed that whatever changes occurred in the brain as a result of chronic back pain were only temporary and that the brain would revert to a normal state once the pain stopped. Recent findings by researchers from Northwestern University have turned this assumption on its head. What they found was that chronic back pain—defined as pain lasting six months or longer—can cause significant and long-lasting damage to the brain, aging it up to 20 times faster than normal. Shades of gray In fact, chronic back pain actually shrinks the gray matter of the brain—the part responsible for memory and information processing—by as much as 11 percent each year. In contrast, ... Curve Running and 200 Meters in Lane 8? No problem!
2008-02-15 09:17:00 Last year, one of my athletes complained about his lane draw for the 200 meters as he drew Lane 8. Complaining wasn’t the best way to describe his emotions.
