A little late to report, but I'd still like to write about it.Trading for Matt Schaub seems to have made sense for all parties involved.Atlanta gets to move forward with Vick, and some extra draft picks. I really am liking Atlanta's chances for next year. They haven't really lost anyone, and they gained a good receiver in Joe Horn. Plus this is a make it or break it year with Vick. They are giving him more control over the offense. If he blows it now, basically, he isn't as good as he is supposed to be.This is also good news for the Texans . They don't have to waste another first round draft pick on a quarterback, and they got someone who is already ready to play. Joe Horn- A Perfect Fit in ATL

The Atlanta Falcons signing of Joe Horn has been surprisingly quiet. There was about a half of a day report and thats it.That shocked me, when there is tons of articles on players that I haven't heard of, or useless lineman that are overpaid and can't play their position.Joe Horn has proven he can play. He is a proven receiver with energy and seemingly, heart.I believe Joe Horn is a perfect fit in Atlanta. When he was signed there I wasn't too sure.However then I thought...Michael Vick has PROVEN he CAN throw.Norwood and Dunn CAN run, and they make a great combo.We all know Alge Crumpler is as good as most receivers, he's PROVEN he CAN catch.So what has been the hold-up on the Falcons?Easy answer, the receivers. The dropped balls, the questionable plays, seem to point to the receiving core. Even though Horn is aging, he still can catch and I think he will find fit with the Atlanta new offense.I'm rooting for Joe Horn, how about you?

Today Willis McGahee was trading to the Baltimore Raven s for three draft choices. Two of the picks will be in this year's draft and another one next year. ESPN.com reported the Bills received a third- and seventh-round pick in April's draft, along with a third-round pick in 2008.While I thought the Ravens were losing a good back in Jamal Lewis, they are getting a great back in McGahee."We're getting a dynamic back who has the potential to diversify our running game," Ravens coach Brian Billick said. "We've studied him, and he brings the same passion and preparation that is common to Miami players, like our Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. Getting a player as good as Willis is another example of how Ozzie and his department size up the market and use our resources well."The Bills may now be in the market for Chris Brown or Dominic Rhodes. Don't count out Corey Dillon who is still a free agent, he might fit in for a year stint with the Bills.

The first few days of free agency have been brutal. Over the next few posts I will try to catch up with all of the news.Drew Bledsoe was released by the Dallas Cowboys with the invitation to come back. His salary should be significantly less as he will be slotted for the backup quarter back position.Another veteran was cut by the New Orleans Saints , Joe Horn. When he was first cut it was reported he could come back, but that looks unlikely now as Horn said he felt like he didn't fit in the Saints plans. As the Saints proved last year, they have many young WR's that can get the job done.Speaking of wide receiver cuts, the San Francisco parted ways with Antonio Bryant, the year after giving him a nice 4 year contract. McCardell was also cut by the San Diego Chargers. The veteran receiver just wasn't a major part of the offense. Not on the slots or anything like that, but by placing bets that the Green Bay Packers will win the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl next year.Green Bay is currently paying out 175$ if you place a 5$ bet that they will win the super bowl. If you bet they will win the NFC championship, a 5$ bet will get you 75$ dollars.Not all of the money went to waste though, as they did bet on the Chargers to win. I read an article in the San Diego Union Tribune the other day that I wanted to share:"Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star took in the NBA's All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas, and this is his (printable) report: '"All-Star Weekend has one huge advantage over the Super Bowl, the other sporting event that sparks major partying. This weekend is just as much - if not more - a women's event as a man's. This is probably a byproduct of the basketball game being a complete afterthought... David Stern could cancel the game, and the event wouldn't suffer at all. Women would still show p by the truckload hoping to dance with Charles Barkley , Michael Jordan , Allen Iverson, LeBron James and anyone else taller than 6 feet 4. Credit is something I definitely take seriously. My girlfriend is constantly nagging me to get a credit card, because of course, her credit is terrible. Sounds like a bad joke, but her credit is so bad, to get a ell phone contract, she'd have to pay some ridiculous deposit of a few hundred dollars.I would love to check my own credit or hers, yet with creditloan.com it wasn't too easy to find out. There are plenty of credit articles and such, but many of the links sent me either to the same page or basically around in circles. Free Credit Report really didn't show me anywhere to get one done, for free. Same thing when I tried to find out about Bad Credit Payday Loan s, I got sent back to where I started. Decent articles, but they definitely will take you for a spin.

San Diego Chargers and Norv Turner

If you read the San Diego Union Tribune this morning, you would understand how unhappy the fans are of the recent new head coach signing.Many recognize how good of an offensive coordinator Norv Turner is, but don't see his head coach potential. Someone asked me what I thought of the recent signing and I don't think he is there to coach. He seems to be just a puppet to me. I am weary about the four year deal though but I am sure he won't serve the full term. Again, I think Aj Smith is going to be pulling a lot of the weight. If Turner doesn't fall in line, he will soon too, be gone.I am glad to see Ron Rivera there, but I see that definitely as a short time role, more like a stepping stone. It is very odd that the Chicago Bears decided not to retain him. I do of course, expect the Chargers defense to do well, and getting Rivera as a linebackers coach should definitely prove to be a plus this next season.
