Web-Launch of the Corsair König Slopestyle Frame
2007-07-24 19:05:00
Press Release: Slopestyle is perhaps the most exciting new cycling discipline seen in years. When creating the König, our goal was to channel the energy of a great run into the engineering and style of our slopestyle frame. Getting off the ground, landing in one piece (at any angle) and getting the bike where you need it to be in a split second all require that a bike be light, strong and maneuverable - three things that define the König. The König is far more than a kick-ass looking bike. For starters, its dual link rear suspension system has been meticulously designed to optimize performance and to resist all torque and lateral loading. The frame’s washer-less pivot system and Sure-Lock pivots are an easy-to-service breakthrough sure to stoke mechanics and riders alike. Getting the details right from the start is important to us - from recessed shock mounting hardware to the König’s super high-end 12 layer paint process, we have made every effort to ensure the Kön...

RST has officially entered the after market fork business in the U.S. launching with an entire line-up of forks spanning every riding discipline from XC to DH. I personally think they are going to have a hard time overcoming the reputation that they have created for themselves with their OEM products more commonly associated with low end bikes. Press Release: RST USA is proud to announce the arrival of a new line of aftermarket forks, spanning all of the riding disciplines: cross country, all-mountain, twenty-niner, dirt jumping, slopestyle and downhill. The new RST aftermarket line has been developed over the course of the past three years, tested in some of the most rigorous environments, like the Red Bull District Rides and numerous dirt jump/freeride contests worldwide. The forks have been refined to a point where they are finally ready for the North American market. Sunrise Park - June 23-24th
2007-06-25 18:05:00
Thanks to everyone who came up to Sunrise this past weekend for 2 days of good times and great riding. A huge thanks to all the non-slackers who got up early Sunday morning and went up to do trail maintenance. You guys turned Mushroom and Arrowhead into the best trails on the mountain for Sunday. You can check out some of the action pics here I am also capturing the footage from the ghetto helmet cam and should have some clips this week. If any of you guys who were running cam's up there this weekend want to share some of your footage, capture it and burn the file to a disk and drop it off to Fish at Cactus Bike. I would really like to start compiling some footage from the mountain in order to do a video to promote our local mountain and riders.

First Impressions: Anchor Freeride Holdfast XLT Stem
2007-06-21 19:47:00
Before moving to Arizona for year round riding last year, I spent the last 8 years living, working and riding in Chicago. While most people refer to Chi-town as “The Windy City” most working class people there know it as the “City of the Big Shoulders” because of the die-hard work ethic that exists amongst its people. While it is one of the largest cities in the United States and a center for business and commerce, it is the blue-collar people who make Chicago the great city that it is. It is also a “go big or go home” type of city, everything is done on a massive scale, buildings reach higher than anywhere else in North America, advertising budgets rival the GDP of some small countries and yet there is still a way for the little guy to go big. Chicago Freeride member Chip Henderson has applied this “Big Shoulders” mentality in a new line of blue-collar bike bling from his company Anchor Freeride. Chip was kind enough to send me one of Anchor's park and street bike ...

NWD Official 07 Clothing
2007-06-18 17:56:00
Freeride Entertainment, makers of all the great NWD series of films have launched their 2007 clothing line with a little spice... "Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the 2007 Athlete Line of clothing, available only to you from us here at nwdfilms. We have put an extra effort into our designs this year, and with the help of our pro riders, have gathered this tight line of gear to keep you classy at every event you attend. Our model Allison, fresh off the runway in Nelson and a winter in Paris, was gracious enough to share her talents with us in front of the lens of Dave Mossop's Canon 5D. The afternoon prior was spent dialing in our corner of the studio with lights, reflectors and backdrops, and feeding the dogs around here mis-information as to the actual time of the shoot. We wanted to get some tasteful photos, and the last thing we'd need is a boisterous Lunchbox Larry drooling in with his advice on how to properly pose on a leather sofa. In the end, the boyz were ...

First Impressions: Marzocchi Bomber Shoes
2007-06-08 21:35:00
Over the past couple years, the world of mountain biking has been undergoing a change in style. While riding styles such as freeride, downhill and street have evolved to create slopestyle, bike manufacturers have met the demand by developing new gear to suit the needs of these ever evolving riders. At the same time the mountain biking industry has begun to meet the aesthetic demands of these seemingly eccentric groups of riders by offering flashier parts and gear so that just about anyone can turn any rig into a would be show bike and look good while riding it at their local hill. For 2007 Marzocchi has entered the fray by offering some of the most killer looking footwear to hit the slopes with their Bomber Shoe. read more
