Poker originated in 1929 during a card game in New Orleans. It has history and has nearly been around for 100 years then. It is a game of patience, confidence and personality. A good poker player needs to be decisive and have good knowledge of the game. The rapid evolution of poker throughout the world over the past ten years has led to it being classified as a sport in many areas of the world. It will be interesting to see where Poker stands in another ten years because it could likely be the most popular game in the world.

Something good to do when you have been playing poker for around 6 months from beginning is. To look at where you were when you first started and then have a look now. Look at all your improvements and think highly of your poker skills and knowledge. This is the best thing to do to gain confidence for when you actually play poker. Because every poker player needs confidence, you need it to raise, call, check and bluff, confidence is in every move you make in the game of poker. So i am just saying to look at your improvements and gain in confidence because that could potentially lead to a lot of improvements in your game, fast calls and checks which could be positive.

Poker Machines!!!

Poker machines are something i will not touch and i do gamble a lot. That is saying something. However i do like the free mixed drinks available on poker machines. I just do not agree with playing them. First of all they have a set winning rate, meaning it is programmed to win a at a certain level, usually around the high 80's mark. But i have played poker machines aka slot machines quite a few times in the past and i must admit i just played the machines were there is major jackpots and features worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Although it is very rare they are the best value because you could return home a multi millionaire. Especially with the amount that could be won in Vegas and in other rich casino areas.

Roulette is without a doubt the game which relies on pure luck and nothing else. There can be no strategy. Except always picking the same numbers, because with roulette the luck of it is as soon as you stop picking a certain number it will come up the next time and keep continuing to biting you on the backside.The rules of roulette:- Choosing the correct number repays between 40 and 44 times the amount you bet depending on the casino's rates.- Choosing 1st twelve, 2nd twelve or 3rd twelve returns you three times the amount you bet.-Choosing odds and evens returns you the amount you bet multiplied by 2 back.It is the most risky of all games, and that is why i play it the least to be honest. Actually the 2nd least behind poker machines.

When i am playing blackjack at the casino i use a simple strategy. I bet the same amount for every hand. And i play by the dealers rules. Which is they can only site on 16 or higher. In blackjack it is very easy to spot a weak dealer hand, the weakest is a 5, which is the card you can see. If the dealer has a 5 i will always sit on anything from a 12 or higher and not risk going bust. Because with a 5 the dealer often gets a picture and then another high card and goes bust. Also it is a good option to sit out a few hands every now and then when you feel the dealer is due for blackjack or two picture cards. If you play by the same rules as the dealer you have the same chance of winning.I would like to emphasize i don't just gamble for a living. I allocate a proportion of my wage and salary to gambling and then i use that to try to maximize it through gambling. Bluffing is an art and has to be perfected before it can fool opponents. The bluff should be high, it should be a call, a large bet and then continually do it throughout the playing of the hand. By the end of the hand with large raises, the opponents would have contributed a significant amount to the pot. So they probably would have folded because they can not afford such gambles.When you have a good hand. I encourage constant moderate raises, as good cards can be as easily spotted as a bluff. Poker is about playing the cards and playing the man.

Played the River!!

Yesterday in a texas hold em game, no limits, $1000 buy in. I played the river. I didn't have a good hand and it was unlikely i was going to get one. I had a 2 and a 7. The chance of me getting a straight was and would have been less than %5. That was until the cards came out. And bang, right before my eyes was a 3,4,5,6,8 . I had a straight two ways. I was just so happy. I know it was a gamble and could have been seen as irresponsible gambling. But it paid off. But to my credit i kept my cool and from the very next game again i put high focus on playing the hands again. It did not pay off though as i was eventually out of the game 4 hands later when i went all in with a pair of aces before any rivers were shown. And for some reason the guy who went all in against me, well called me to be correct, had a pair of tens, and one of the rivers was a ten. His three of a kind ended my night. So i decided to watch. The Ways i make money with my Poker skills!!!

Two easy ways i use my poker skills to make money are PKR and the casino. With PKR, it is an online Poker software aimed at allowing players to play texas and omaha for real money. I have been using this for years and have made profits over 1 week periods constantly. Secondly my other favourite game is three card poker at the local casino against only the dealer. I go on the principle of playing a queen or higher, with lower cards don't play. More often than not you will accquire a queen or higher and thus win the hand and beat the dealer. The key to winning at a casino is to make constant bets. I play $20 hands constantly, it doesn't matter if im up $100 or $100 000. Regulating hand bets is the best way to maintain winnings and walk out the door making a profit. Betting big is a huge mistake, it gives the dealer and the casino a good chance of winning. Unless betting big is the norm for you and you are constantly doing it, stay with the same bet amounts for the whole night.

When i go all in!!!

I only go all in if i have a hand with a minimum of a three of a kind. Even with a straight i usually don't go all in. I make an exception though if the guy is on his last chips and desperate to stay in the game and its obvious hes in even if he doesn't have a good hand. The reason why i usually limit all in to a three of a kind minimum, is because its safe, it beats a straight and will win a high percentage of hands. If for some unlucky reason your opponent has a better hand then you then you have to take it on the chin, thats poker.Going all in on without the rivers being shown yet? Well i only do this with a pair of aces or kings. And then the excitement begins, all that anxiety comes out when the rivers are arriving. These are my principles and most often than not it gives me the edge over my opponents. Sure the games go on long and are drawn out but a lot of the time im the guy at the end getting my picture taken with a winners cheque.

First of all i would like to point out my basic beliefs and principles i use when playing poker. To me i have heard play the man and not the cards a lot. But i see it as doing both playing the man and playing the cards which will ultimately lead to success.When playing poker at the casino solely against the dealer, then obviously there is a good example where to only play the cards. Or another example is the first hand in any poker match, there is no time for bluffing or raising because trying to understand your opponents behaviour is just gambling. In multiplayer poker, such as Texas or Omaha which are my favourites by the way, i start off playing the cards for the first few hands, then when i feel confident about my opponents behaviour, i begin to play the man aswell. There is always some similiar characteristics you see in opponents, the guy who bets to much and bluffs to often, chances are this guy does not respect the patience required in poker and is in there for a quick win. ...
