Trump becomes a golf apprentice to Sorenstam and Gulbis
2006-12-02 15:58:02
If you come to New York toting your sticks, you won't be able to play a round of golf on the course that will host this weekend's skins game featuring Donald Trump . It's really a park that is being gussied up to bring attention to Governors Island, originally a coastal fortification for the City. That being said, "The Donald" will be teaming up with Tom Watson with the hopes of defeating Annika Sorenstam and Natalie Gulbis even though he will be the only amateur on the course. Trump sports a five or six handicap (depending upon what internet source you read) and will play eighteen holes against the LPGA tour stars but Sorenstam and Gulbis are expected to pony up three strokes per side even though multiple major winner Tom Watson will be Trump's "go-to" guy. Trump feels "intimidated", more like one of his "apprentice's" who grovel at his feet on the weekly television show which entices us to believe that people looking for a job will do almost anything for the almighty dollar...

Ochoa rallies to dethrone Sorenstam while, in sharp contrast
2006-12-02 15:58:02
At first I was considering letting the whole Michelle Wie debacle come to a close after her floundering performance at the Samsung. Why rub salt on the wounds and what more could be said about the 17-year old who is said to be one of the LPGA's great hopes and the future of professional women's golf? I wished to see Wie near the top of the leaderboard. I wanted to see her contend with Sorenstam and Ochoa. I expected to be dazzled by her extraordinary talent, cheering her on to victory. Instead I watched as Lorena Ochoa proved herself to be the only real contender for both the Rolex Player of the Year award and Sorenstam's throne which has not been easy to approach since 1995 (Annika's first win-U.S. Women's Open). Ochoa even regained her dignity which only briefly suffered after an exasperating skins defeat against Annika in Mexico. Michelle was MIA. Wie thought she performed well, but all who watched her knew better. No one expected Michelle to whiff a shot, an error expec...

Podcast: Bill Clinton relates how his golf game mimics his
2006-12-02 15:58:02
Click here to listen. Strengthen your focus and concentration with this game-within-a-game tactic! Pia Nilsson (Annika Sorenstam's mental coach) and Lynn Marriott's (Golf Digest Top-50 instructor) golf tips will keep you "in the moment"! Both are co-founders of "Vision 54", a tutelage that all golfers are capable of shooting a birdie on every hole! Phil Mickelson has a tendency to get into trouble (remember his U.S. Open collapse?) He also has many shots in his bag to get him back onto the fairway. We discuss the punch-out with help from Golf Digest teaching professional Rick Smith who, I believe, has seen Mickelson practice this maneuver many times! Finally we give you Bill Clint on 's view on golf in our podcast and a video of him swinging the golf club. Mulligan anyone? Podcast: Mental game tips to avoid frustration, fade that g
2006-08-14 20:15:02
Click here to listen. During our recent round, Barry noticed that I get frustrated easily and hold on to anxiety much longer than I should. He believes this subliminal mindset is stopping me from realizing my potential. We discuss ways that I could "get out of my own way" and start having more fun. A listener discusses one of our previous podcasts and asks for further clarification on how to fade the ball. Barry and I have noticed that, for the beginner (and for most golfers), the rules of golf can be very wordy. We attempt to simplify them in our new section entitled, "The Rules of Golf made easy". Montgomerie, Mickelson "bridesmaids" to Tiger Woods when bet
2006-08-06 20:00:13
Where betting is off limits for golf profesionals (for their own sport) in the United States, it is welcomed in Europe. About twenty percent of the players in Britain make a sidebet through a caddy or friend. The Victor Chandler Agency has even been the sponsor for the British Masters in the past and is among many agencies and betting parlors set up both on the internet and nearby to accept bets from both golfers and gamblers. I wonder if Phil Mickelson, a known high-stakes gambler, will place a bet on himself this weekend? After his implosion at the U.S. Open and his less-than stellar performance at the Cialis Western Open, could he be sneaking a bet on Tiger to win? Mickelson is currently sporting 12/1 odds on Victor Chandler placing second to Tiger Wood s but Woods reigns supreme as the 5/1 favorite. Vijay Singh and Ernie Els are currently tied at 16/1 as British Open favorites. Els has taken home the silver claret jug (a.k.a. The Golf Champion Trophy) in 2002 and Woods claimed...
