Full UFC 83 Serra vs St. Pierre Fight Card Revealed

The UFC just announced the official and final fight card for UFC 83 Matt Serra vs Georges St. Pierre .  The event will take place on Saturday, April 19th at the Bell Centre Canada, 17 days after a free display of Ultimate Fight Night Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon, airing free, Wednesday April 2nd on Spike TV from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Anderson Silva to Box Roy Jones Jr?

According to NBCSports.com representatives of UFC Fighter Anderson Silva an boxer Roy Jones Jr are in conversations of a possibly boxing match between Silva and Jones!  The conversations are currently in their early stages and a lot of logistics need to be worked out.  Such considerations are the rules of the bout, the ability for Anderson to step outside of his UFC contract to fight and the weight class that the two would match up at. One of the questions asked during her interview is what she’s been up to since starring on Oxygen’s Fight Girls. Michelle stated (as many of us already know) that she’s been working with Greg Jackson out in New Mexico, learning to improve her ground game. How did she feel to be apart of Fight Girls and to get that national recognition - “it was cool”. Does MMA pay the bills? No unfortunately not for Michelle, so in addition to being an professional MMA fighter, she’s also a hooters girl! The Official UFC 83 website was launched today, along with the final fight card for the night. The main event will be Georges St. Pierre versus Matt Serra, dubbed, Serra vs Pierre 2. Rich Franklin, currently rocking a beard and mustache will take on Travis Lutter, Kalib Starnes is facing off with Nate “The Rock” Quarry - I’m very excited to see Nate fight again. He had an amazing comeback versus Pete Sell in their last fight. Mike Bisping is going to whoop Charles McCarthy, Mac Danzig is taking on Mark Bocek, Jason MacDonald is fighting Joe Doerksen, Alan Belcher vs Jason Day and Sam Stout vs Rich Clemente (who had an amazing fight against Melvin Guillard recently.

Kimbo Slice to Fight at EliteXC in Newark New Jersey in May?

It looks like another MMA event will hit the new Prudential Center in Newark New Jersey .  The last time it was UFC Validation featuring Bisping vs Rashad Evans, this time it will be Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith, and Kimbo Slice versus an unknown competitor.  Sounds like a hell of a night, but guess what?  It only gets better.  EliteXC has signed a deal with CBS.  CBS will be broadcasting the MMA event live on May 31st at 9PM ET free of charge!   Wait, it gets even better, this May 31st event will be one of many.  The new program will be called “Saturday Night Fight s” and rumored to fight along with the title Robbie Lawler vs Scott Smith, Gina Carano may possibly step away from the American Gladiator spotlight to get back to her roots.  This is only a rumor at the moment.

I’m a Moron - Ultimate Fight Night 13 Correction

Wow, I feel like a total ass… In my last post regarding Ultimate Fight Night 13 - UFN 13 I screwed up.  Wait.. Okay , I totally f’ed up on this one… I stated that K Flow is the underdog because… I clearly have a lot to learn in the betting world and misinterpreted the + and - signs.  So here’s the correction, Lauzon is the underdog.. As Griffin and just1fix astutely point out in the comments section, the negative sign is the amount you have to bet to win $100 and the plus sign is how much you win if you bet $100… wow, I totally suck at this.  Sorry for the mixed, like I said, I’m a total newb, thanks for pointing out my mistake… Having said that, my money is definitely on Lauzon, put down a hundie and if he wins, take home 180, sounds like a sure bet. Thanks again for the correction - I’m an ass.

I’ve never been much of a betting man, but I become more interested in betting odds when UFC 82 came around. I learned a little bit about the odds and made my prediction for the night, which was on the money. So today I checked out the odds for Ultimate Fight Night 13 on Bet Us and this is what we’re looking at: Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon odds Florian (-220) Lauzon (+180) Karo Parisyan vs. Thiago Alves odds Parisyan (-180) Alves (+150) Spencer Fisher vs. Marcus Aurelio odds Fisher (-115) Aurelio (-115) Can this be right? Same odds, looks odd, no pun intended. I’m a total newb, so let me know… Put down 180 to make 100 on Joe Lauzon? I’m pretty confident that Joe’s going to finish Kenny, this will be a great fight. If I had to make a bet of all three, I’d put my money on Lauzon for the Lauzon vs Kenny Flo fight.

The fight card for UFC 83 Matt Serra vs Georges St. Pierre 2 (April 19th) that will take place in Canada’s Bell Centre just got bigger.  Added to the card is Ed “Short Fuse” Herman and his Brazilian opponent, Demian Maia. Xtreme Fight ing Association will have their first MMA event on March 22nd 2008 at the Las Vegas Hilton. The main event for the night will be The Ultimate Fighter Contestant Micheal Whitehead and Ethen Cox. Particularly of interest to MMAFightGirl s is the female events, Michelle Waterson vs Catia Vitoria and Amy Davis vs Van Do. Waterson is coming off a recent victory over Jaime Cook at Ring of Fire 30. Leading up to the fight, Waterson had been training with Greg Jackson’s camp to become a more well rounded fighter. Titoz Ortiz “Settle the Score” Reality Show Dubbed “Anytown Throwdown

Earlier this week we mentioned a new reality television show hosted by Tito Ortiz which would allow disputing people to settle their differences in the octagon.  In a recent interview with the show’s cast consultant and MMA Junkie,  the title of the show, “Anytown Throwdown ” and more details of the show were revealedl.  The show will air on G4 Tech TV.  Filming will be shot in Los Angeles for the initial episode.  After the pilot is shot, the crew expects to go to participants towns to shoot more episodes - seems to be a more interesting route in my opinion. UFC 85 which will take place on Saturday, June 7th 2008 in London England has a main event set at the O2 Arena. Believe it or not, Rashad Evan s will take on Chuck Liddell ! I normally get flamed for my opinion, but wha the hell, here it is anyway… Rashad’s a great, undefeated fighter, taking on such big names as Tito Ortiz, Stephan Bonnar and Micheal Bisping. Chuck has had his troubles in the ring over the past year, but after a big win over Wanderlei Silva, I think he’s back in the game mentally. The official results of UFC 82 are in. Anderson Silva def. With the exception of the The Pick Em For Bragging Rights Contest (which by the way we dominated), I’m not much of a gambling man. In fact, I don’t gamble at all. Having said that, it’s out of character posting betting odds, however, a lot of people have been looking for odds on the site, so I decided to post the UFC 82 odds. Looking over the odds, I thought it would be a good idea to explain how the system works. So here’s my attempt, from a non-gambler who is just learning about gambling to explain the gambling / betting odds of Anderson Silva vs Dan Henderson in UFC 82. The official UFC 82 weigh ins from last night have been edited and posted to EPSN. Diego Sanchez looked fit, but a bit decimated. Andre Arlovski looked bad as rocking some bling bling. Evan Tanner’s looking fit, but not has big as he’s looked in the past. Cheick Kongo looked ripped as ever. Anderson Silva and Dan Henderson had a great stare down, but ended in a great show of sportsmanship. And all along, UFC Ring Girls Arianny Celeste and Edith Labelle looked over the weigh ins.

ESPN interview Joe Rogan regarding tonight’s UFC 82 fight featuring Dan Henderson vs Anderson Silva. When asked for a preview of tonight’s fight, Joe states that Dan Henderson and Anderson Silva are the two best 185lb MMA fighters in the world, no question. He goes on to say that both fighters are stacked and as for fight predictions, it’s truly a 50 / 50 fight, Anderson is one hell of a striker while Dan is an Olympic wrestler with Knock Out Power capable of knocking out Wanderlei Silva. It’s been a few months since Ali Sonoma has left the UFC and the new UFC Octagon Girl Edith Larente / Edith Larenta has filled in for her. So, what has Ali been up to since leaving the UFC? Although we don’t know exactly, we’ll make some inferences based on recent photo shoots posted online. First off, she’s broadened her portfolio with some excellent shots taken by Michael Rosen Photography, as pictured on the right. She’s additionally modeled for Racer X Brand, aka, www.RacerXBrand.com and showed off some tee’s that can currently be seen on the homepage of Racer X and pictured below as an animated gif. Herb Dean Messes Up Big Time… Pete Spratt Suffers

FightLinker posted an interesting topic about this weekend’s MFC 15 “Rag to Riches” HDNet Fight event.  At the end of the second round of the Pete Spratt vs Ryan Ford fight the bell clearly rings, Herb acknowledges it (slightly), however Ryan Ford continues to fight landing 2 big elbows on the head of Pete Spratt.  Pete is clearly affected by the blows and his team asks “What happens if Pete can’t continue? WWE / TNA Wrestler Kurt Angle to take on Randy Couture in an MMA Event?

Last night I was listening to a rerun of the Ferrall Sirius Satellite Show on Howard 101 (Howard Stern’s Channel).  Ferrall had WWF / WWE / TNA Wrestler Kurt Angle on the show for an interview.  They discussed the Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir fight, how the audience reacted toward Brock at the event (lots of “booing” for Brock) and how Kurt Angle is making his way into MMA.  Kurt stated that he was ready to make an UFC debut in 2003 as the UFC started to gain it’s popularity.  Until an unfortunate Neck Injury (broken neck) resulting from competing and winning an Olympic Gold metal. According to Kurt he will once again try his fate at an MMA bout.  He announced on the show that he will take on UFC legend Randy Couture in an MMA event.  He is currently training 2 days a week and will soon announce the fight details.  When asked if he would fight street bad ass Chuck Zito, Kurt said that a few years ago he would, but now, he knows his limits and wouldn&rsquo...
