Michigan Drops Out of College Football Rankings

The NCAA Top 25 AP poll had a major change after the opening week of the season. Michigan fell all the way out of the college football rankings after being ranked #5 last week. It is the first time a team ranked in the Top 5 college football rankings has ever fallen completely out of the NCAA top 25 in a single week. The Wolverines were upset by Appalachian State in perhaps the biggest college football upset in history. The Wolverines lost 34-32 at home to the Division 1AA School. USC was again the #1 team in the college football rankings but they were unimpressive against Idaho and lost some support. They got 59 first place votes this week in the NCAA Top 25 AP poll, down three votes from last week.
