Within the article, she says the Red Sox are still talking to Scott Boras about a return for Jason Varitek. The recession has hurt the value of the New York Times’ stake in the Red Sox. A potential Red Sox spring training site in Bonita Springs, FL is probably a longshot. Even without Mark Teixeira, the Red Sox offense should be one of the league’s best.
