Dwyane Wade led the U.S. basketball team to a 97-76 victory over Angola today, scoring 19 points as the Americans improved to 2-0 in group play. Wade, the former Marquette star and guard for the Miami Heat, sank 6 of 8 shots from the field and 5 of 7 free throws. Dwight Howard added 14 points, and LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony each had 12 for the U.S. Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Redd played 14 minutes in a reserve role and scored two points on 1-of-4 shooting. Dwyane's name is often misspelled as Dwayne. I would like to ask him if he's annoyed by that... I certainly would be! There is even a story that he turned down Duke University's offer because they typed his name DWAYNE... I'm not sure if that story is true (my brother told me he had read it in a magazine), but anyway, you can't say it isn't intertesting!Further on, almost 50% of people searching for his info thinks it is spelled Dwayne!Despite the unorthodox spelling, Wade 's first name is pronounced as Dwayne and OFTEN in print media, it is misspelled as such.
