Play Action - Week 7
2007-10-20 17:41:00 Rapidly approaching the midway point of the NFL season, the pretenders and the contenders of both the NFL world as well as the Fantasy world are starting to separate. Another excellent video blog from The King is below this, if you haven't done so already, you owe it to yourself to watch, and to take a look at the Fantasy Chatter forums that are linked over to the right of this post. Beating the House--Week 7
2007-10-20 03:19:00 I have to start off by saying that I neglected to make two changes last week due to time constraints...and being ridiculously hungover...came to my senses and reversed my Dolphins call to Cleveland covering and also made the Patriots my "pick of the week" as I forgot to plug that in...had a respectable showing that made up for the Week 5 disastro totale...for you fans of this site and FANTASY More About: House , The House , Beating
More Surgery for Javon Walker
2007-10-19 00:56:00 Denver WR Javon Walker will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee (the same one that was reconstructed in 2005) on Friday. Mike Shanahan has stated that Walker will be out for "a few weeks." The Denver Post reports that it will be four weeks. This is bad news for the fantasy value of Jay Cutler. It may or may not give Brandon Marshall a slight bump, although he should see more More About: Surgery , Urge
Unleashing KJ
2007-10-17 23:17:00 The Detroit Lions have officially confirmed that Kevin Jones will start in Week 7 over Tatum Bell. Those of you that grabbed KJ late in drafts, or stole him off of waivers are about to be rewarded with a nice RB2. KJ is a constant threat to get injured, but he fits in nicely with Mike Martz's Detroit offense. In Atlanta, it has been announced that Byron Leftwich will be the starting QB in
Return of K-Rob
2007-10-17 19:22:00 Koren Robinson has been reinstated by the NFL after a year-long substance abuse suspension. He has been cleared to begin practicing with the Packers immediately. While this story gets attention, K-Rob shouldn't have any fantasy impact, and you certainly should not drop anybody for him. He is firmly behind Donald Driver, Greg Jennings and James Jones on the WR depth chart in Green Bay. Plus, More About: Return
Week 6 Fallout
2007-10-16 21:28:00 Week 6 largely avoided major injuries. A first for 2007. Let's take a look at what did happen. Vince Young - QB - Tennessee Titans Young left the game on Sunday with a quadriceps strain. Jeff Fisher is hopeful that Young can play in Week 7, and has stated that there is no need for any surgery. If he can't go, Kerry Collins will start. Kurt Warner - QB - Arizona Cardinals The first game after More About: Week , Fallout , Allo
Major Game Day Inactives - Week 6
2007-10-14 13:50:00 Patriots - The Boston Herald has reported that Laurence Maroney will be inactive for Week 6. Make sure that Sammy Morris is in your lineup. So much for the "smart money". Maroney is confirmed inactive, Morris gets the start. Browns - Jamal Lewis is out. Jason Wright will start in his place and is an option if you're desperate, since the Dolphins are terrible against the run. Texans - You More About: Game , Major , Game Day
Beating the House--Week 6
2007-10-13 18:07:00 It seems that the picture I posted with last week's article was very fitting indeed...it showed me giving the choke sign during a Texas Hold 'Em game so naturally I proceeded to have a train wreck of a week with my picks...truly one of the worst showings I've ever had...the flip side is, there's nowhere to go but up so let's forge ahead to this week's slate of games...and, just in case, let's More About: House , Week , The House , Beating
Play Action - Week 6
2007-10-13 15:49:00 Week 6 is arguably the most significant bye week of this season. It is one of two weeks with 6 teams on bye, and this week sees a more substantial impact on Fantasy than Week 8 does. It's once again time to break down this week's action game-by-game and look at who should help your team, and who to keep on your bench...assuming that you can tear yourself away from The King's excellent video for More About: Action , Play , Week
Springer Moments?
2007-10-12 04:12:00 News broke today that Pittsburgh RB Najeh "Dookie" Davenport has been charged with domestic violence, endangering his children, and unlawful restraint. Cleveland police received 3 9-1-1 phone calls from Davenport's house (which is apparently at 1374 E. 115 Street, if you'd like to visit) between 8:45pm and 9:02pm tonight. The incident was apparently a dispute between Davenport and his baby mama, More About: Moments
Week 5 Fallout
2007-10-09 23:28:00 Mercifully, there wasn't as much carnage in Week 5 as there had been in recent weeks. Out For The Season: Matt Leinart - QB - Arizona Cardinals Former Paris Hilton boy-toy Matt Leinart has been placed in Injured Reserve, ending his season, from a fractured collarbone he sustained in Week 5 against the 49ers. Kickers in Fantasy Football Rant.....
2007-10-09 23:07:00 I now hate you Kris Brown... Ok time for an article that I wanted to write because of a friend of mine. Last week while watching Football my buddy and I were talking about Kickers . He is in the camp of Kickers should not be allowed in Fantasy because it is to much of a crap shoot. Of course I disagreed. He was all bitter because he lost a game by 2 and his opponent had a Kicker worth 3 More About: Rant , Fantasy Football
Beating The House - Week 5
2007-10-06 17:58:00 Beating the House --Week 5 A decent week last time out that could have been even better if not for a few surprises...my hat's off to anyone who would have called Arizona, Cleveland, Buffalo and Kansas City all winning outright...such is life on any given Sunday...my pick of the week in Detroit was sketchy until the Lions decided to play in the fourth quarter but it's only the end result that More About: The House , Beating
The Kings Plays of the Week...
2007-10-06 04:57:00 Sorry I missed last week readers , I had some CPU issues, but I am all set now. So, per usual, I give you a few under the radar type guys who should put up good weeks. Beating the House--Week 4
2007-09-29 16:18:00 It figures, doesn't it? I start posting here just last week and wind up taking a beating instead of beating the house! Such is life in the world of gambling...if it was easy (and legal), everyone would do it...for every brilliant call like the Chiefs and Jags, there were duds like Rams and Saints...just horrible. Another Major Injury - Deuce McAllister
2007-09-25 07:05:00 ESPN has reported that Deuce McAllister has a torn ACL and will likely miss the remainder of the season. It will be a hard road back for Deuce, if he truly does have a torn ACL, he's not far removed from his last major knee surgery. The Kings plays of the week.
2007-09-21 03:36:00 From now on every Friday you can check in to see who the King has as his plays of the week...I am trying not to give obvious guys like Manning, Brady, LT etc... So for week 3 here is who I like.QB:I expect a big things from Vince Young this week VS. the Saints. The Saints gave up a lot of yardage to the Bucs last week and I feel that Young and the Titans should move the ball pretty well. The Bucs are not stopping anybody from throwing ranking 26th in pass defense with 0 INTS. Expect Young to get 220 yards 2 TD's and another rushing.Jason Campbell is another play I really like this week. He played well against a very solid Philly D last week and this week faces a sub par Giants D. The Giants are dead last in passing D giving up over 300 yards a game so far. Expect Campbell to approach 250 yards and 2 TD's.RB: Laurence Maroney should go crazy against a terrible Bills Defense. The Bills have given up a ton of yardage to the Broncos and the Steelers thus far and I expect Maron... More About: Week , Plays , Kings
Hot Adds
More articles from this author:2007-09-20 17:38:00 Here's some hot adds heading into Week 3.DeShawn Wynn - RB - Green BayWynn is a must add, THE must-add player for the week. Allegedly, he'll be given the chance to be the feature back with Brandon Jackson struggling mightily. Realistically, you should temper your expectations...other than a long TD run against the Giants in Week 2, he failed to put up inspirational numbers. That said, every feature back in the NFL deserves to be owned.Owen Daniels - TE - HoustonThe loss of Andre Johnson should benefit Daniels nicely. He will take over as their best receiving option and should put up good numbers at home against the Colts.Jacoby Jones - WR - HoustonThis is the other guy getting hype about more targets due to the loss of Andre Johnson. Personally, I'll believe it when I see it. Jones will certainly get more looks, but I'm not convinced that he'll put up better numbers than he has so far this season. Also temper your expectations since Coach Kubiak claims that Kevin Walter ... 1, 2, 3, 4 |
