Hello folk . There has finally been an official statement from the commissioner of the BPT that the games are on hold ( for how long I don't know...). There will NOT be a league game for the WSOP event . No surprise there at all for me....There's been a few buds from the bloggers tour that have said they will miss the games . I would like to extend an invite to any of the bloggers that want to play some small , but solid games of poker to join our little league games over at the 5th Street Forum . The prize nothin as great as what the BPT's give away , but for the most part we all have a good time and you'll see that a few bloggers already play these games on a regular basis . The rules will look familiar to most you....Leader board points are awarded as the reverse of the field, so if 20 players enter a tournament, the first player out will be awarded 1 point, and the winner will be awarded 20 points. Well folk , the weekend is here and its time for some good games of poker with some good folk over at the 5th Street Forum . I got to say that with my health being the way it has gone now that I am mighty thankful to have found some good friends online .You can always weed out just the associates from the true friends during the down times , and boy have I done that.....I don't know how long I got left in this old world , be it a few months or hopefully a couple years yet , but with Margie , Andy ,Brad , Chris and Ramster to just name a few , they have kept my head in the right place and showed me that there really is a such thing as true online friends . I'm thankful for them and truly enjoy their company every weekend on the felt . Frame of Mind

Well folk , I been a might down in the dumps lately......As some of you may know, I been in a right fair amount of pain for quite a long time . I've never been scared of much of nothin in my life but doctors and hospitals , so I stay away from them till I feel like I'm knockin on deaths door . Well , that day came the other day and I let the wife and daughters take me to the emergency room . I just couldn't fight thro the pain no longer with out some sort of relieve.... A few years back my lungs had collapsed and I thought that may be what was wrong this time . Figured that I'd stroll in there , they'd pop a hole in my chest , run that tube down and I'd just mosey on outta there like the last time. I was wrong it seems..was my lungs , but turns out that they ain't no fixin this ol'boy up this time . They ran the x-rays and my lungs are covered with holes the size of silver dollars . No way to repair them , the Doc's say....Thats lead to infections which in turn has lead to ...

Ahhhhhhhh Momma's here again and she is just rarin' to go off on another rant. Relax all this is going to be a good rant! LOLI want to talk about the 5th Street Forum tourneys that are hosted by Poker.com I just cannot seem to talk enough about these games because they are so great!Tell me when is the last time you entered a tourney that lasted hours? I just bet most of you said, "Just a couple hours ago." or maybe "A couple days ago." But, I would also be willing to wager an allin that there were no less that 90 players in that tourney but more like hundreds registered. Hello folk , I've been a might busy lately with spring being just around the corner .Been gettin the ground ready for my vegetable garden and now got my early spring planting done . The purple top turnips , radish , peas and mustard have done broke ground . Got my taters planted and now I just have to wait on the soil to warm a bit more to plant the squash , cucumbers ,tomatoes , peppers , butter beans and the such...that hasn't left me time for much bloggin or poker , but I surely do love workin the ground . They ain't nothing quite as good as that feelin ya get when you take that seed , plant it , and work the garden till you finally enjoying the fruits of your labor ....and you sure cant buy nothing that taste as good as what you grow or raise yaself. Well folk , I very seldom talk about my games on poker .Couple reasons for that ,and I may be wrong in my thinking . I've never really thought most folk could give a hoot about what bad beats or suck out I may get , and I've never been one to brag about my winnings all that much . Tara , how long have you dealt cards , and are you at liberty to say where at ?I have been dealing for 8 months on Long Island. I started out at free bar tournaments. I now work in an underground club.2. A lot of online players so rant on and on about how you never see bad beats at live games , well I beg to differ and think a lot weighs on the caliber of player at the table , be it online or at the casinos . Good game all and I'm proud to say we had a record showing today . The bad news is that we raised the lowest amount to date . $68.00 Only half the 2.20 buy-in went to our charity due to a mix up on the re buys and add-on just being a dollar and going to the pot . Before it was all two bucks with half of all monies going to Make a Wish.....I will be trying to get this sorted out before next months game . Make A Wish Game....

Today the 5th Street Forum holds it monthly Charity Ball over at poker.com . We now have the ball scheduled for the first Saturday of each month , hoping that this will increase the numbers . Half the proceeds go to the Make a Wish Foundation , so it's for a very good cause , and a lot of the money placers even go one step further and donate their winnings as well . On the average we have anywhere from thirty to fifty players and manage to send off about a $130.00 a month . Lets see if we all can get that number up today . If you would like to play a fun game of poker for a very worth while cause just go to poker.com , click tournaments then the private tab and look for the "5th Street Charity Ball" . The game starts at 4 pm. est. (1600 lobby time )and is just a 2.20 buy-in with three re-buys and one add-on at the first break . Is It Just Me ?I have to ask all you players; is it just me or does everyone else find that the tables are no longer strictly about a good "gentleman's game" of poker?There seems to be an incredible amount of players who aptly fit the description of a word that I used to soooooooo dislike; donkey! They sit there and the only button that they seem to be able to see is ALLIN. So you keep folding while they sit and steal chips from everyone inching their chip total up by the nickle and dime method. I have to apologize for not actually doing this blog sooner, because this is good stuff for you online players to know, especially if you like to play cards with people who are serious about the game but can still have fun while they play.Earl (Skinski) and Brad (Hacksaw) started the 5th Street Forum so that players would have a place where they could discuss anything they wanted when it came to poker. They took the discussions a giant leap forward and opened it to politics and current events (something that most forums will discourage or out right not allow). Being that we are all adults there, then of course when we enter any discussion we are expected to act as adults and be respectful in all our conversations.There are places for your favourite music, videos, photos and yes there is even a back alley should you feel daring LOLBut, I have to say the biggest draw to 5th Street are the games they host.
