Finally Bought Some Golf Shoes
2008-04-21 03:52:00
Well I finally got to choosing some golf shoes after about a week of searching. Nothing was really feeling just right. I tried on an Adidas University II which was quite nice and comfy but they didn't have a size 13. So finally got a chance to go to Golf Town today and after trying on a few pairs it was looking like no success. Then at the end I spied last year's Adidas Tour Traxion in all black which isn't a color I would normally choose. Well they fit great and they were on sale which was a bonus. So I managed to get out of there with some new shoes and some new black Footjoy socks. Now I just have to get my wife some Dansko clogs. Not a bad trade off.

EDS Byron Nelson Championship Field Coming Together
2008-04-21 00:58:00
Looks like the EDS Byron Nelson Championship scored a top 10 player as Adam Scott, the No. 10 player in the World rankings committed Friday to play in the Championship, allowing the tournament to not be shut out from drawing elite players.Scott, who finished third at the 2006 Nelson, joined Jesper Parnevik, Fredrik Jacobson and Tim Herron as last-minute additions to the field for the Thursday-April 27 event at the TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas. Scott is the only top-10 player who will compete at the Nelson, an event in which the level of star power has slid since Nelson died in 2006.Joining Scott as top-20 headliners next week will be Colonial champion Rory Sabbatini (No. 12), Masters champion Trevor Immelman (No. 15), SergioGarcia (No. 16) and Luke Donald (No. 17). Looks like this week's winner Boo Weekley is also scheduled to compete.Challenged by a difficult date on the PGA Tour calendar (two weeks after the Masters, two weeks before The Players Championship) and breaking in a re...

DirectBuy Deals
2008-04-20 04:06:00
I've always had a Costco membership and have always seen a lot of value in it. Some friends had recently redecorated there whole house with DirectBuy and had saved a bundle. I guess that's the way to go when your getting that much furniture. You can get brand-name manufactured red furniture at wholesale prices, plus shipping and handling. DirectBuy is located in both the U.S. and Canada and seems to be the place to purchase some deals.

Moving Help
2008-04-20 03:27:00
I don't know about you but I've moved a few times in my life plus I've helped moved a few friends and family before and it can be a bit crazy. People say moving is one of the most stressful things to do and I guess it can be but sometimes you need a little help just like some friends we know who are using a New York Moving Company to move back to Canada. It may cost a bit of money but it's worth the headache.

Performance Review Of My Golf Blog
2008-04-19 03:49:00
This is hard to believe but this is my 1000h post on this blog. Pretty darn good that I've been keeping this blog going now for well over three years but really hard core for about the last year. January 2005 was the first post. How would I rate this blog like one of those performance reviews you get at work. Well I'd definitely give me an A for effort with some room for improvement in the writing area which is always a work in progress. I think the addition of videos has helped get a few new readers and I'm aways trying new things when it comes to generating new income with the blog. All in all I'm looking forward to the next year and many more years to come.

First Driving Range Visit OF The Golf Season
2008-04-18 14:23:00
Well it had to be done and yesterday was the day. We've been getting some sweet weather lately and some golf courses are opening up and of course some driving ranges. So yesterday at lunch I got the clubs out of storage and made my way to the 19th tee where I whacked around a medium bucket with the sun gleaming in the sky. What a great day after such a long winter. With the temperature today again around 24 degrees and more courses opening my first round of the year is definitely getting closer.Tags: golf driving range

Mountain Bike Or Exercise Bike?
2008-04-18 14:14:00
I'm at the moment trying to figure out whether to buy an exercise bike for inside or just a regular mountain bike. My kids are a little older now and want to bike lots so I'm kinda leading towards the mountain bike. I've always had one it's only been in the last 10 years I haven't had one and have always enjoyed one. Exercise bikes are good and all it just might be better to purchase one once the colder weather comes back.

More Memory For More Golf Pictures
2008-04-17 19:46:00
Ok I'm in the market for a another SD memory card for my digital camera as I'm gearing up for the golf season and I tend to take alot of pictures of the courses I play. So my 512MB card just isn't cutting it and I'm thinking about adding a 2GB card. So it looks like the best buy is at Buy.com for SD memory these days. $10 for a 2GB card is pretty great at that price I might get 2.

Fantasy Picks - Verizon Hertage @ Hilton Head
2008-04-17 16:19:00
This week's stop on the PGA Tour sees the pros at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head South Carolina. There will be 25,00 FedEx Cup Points up for grabs as well as a purse of $5,500,000 ($990,000 Winning Share). The Heritage has been a mainstay on tour for awhile , with alot of marshy areas for any wayward shots on the back nine and small greens throughout. It's a shorter course under 7000 yds. so you don't have to be a bomber to win. My picks are basically based on who plays well here so here they are:Ernie ElsAaron BaddeleyJim FurykStewart CinkJerry KellyStephen AmesDarkhorse-My man Jesper Parnevik

Golf Cruise?
2008-04-16 22:44:00
I've never been one to think about going on a cruise vacation but when I heard about a "golf themed" cruise I kind of got interested. I've always thought of cruises to be not my kind of a thing but I've recently heard of a cruise that was offered where you get a chance to play at Scotland's famous St. Andrews Golf Club, as well as some amazing courses in Ireland. There was also on-board lectures, golf clinics and parties all for the golf obsessed. Now I just have to convince my wife, right?

Tiger Woods Has Surgery On Knee
2008-04-16 21:24:00
It didn't seem like Tiger was hurting but apparent ally Tiger wasn't 100% perfect at the Masters, which is kind of scary as Tuesday he went under the knife. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, to repair cartilage damage, his second operation in five years on the same knee. Reports are saying he'll miss at least a month maybe 6 weeks. Does this hurt the tour because he'll be missing the Wachovia Championship which he won last year and the Players Championship. I'm sure he'll be back for the Memorial right? He's not going to miss the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines on June 12 will he. From his website:"I made the decision to deal with the pain and schedule the surgery for after the Masters," Woods said. "The upside is that I have been through this process before and know how to handle it. I look forward to working through the rehabilitation process and getting back to action as quickly as I can."Stay tuned....Tags: Tiger Woods , injury, PGA Tour

Golf Stuff Or Geek Stuff?
2008-04-15 04:14:00
Like I was saying in a recent post it was recently my birthday and I received quite a few gifts mainly because it was one of those milestone birthdays(The Big 4-0). Well now I have all this cash and gift certificates to buy some gifts for myself. The pressure is on do I blow it all on golf stuff, I really need golf shoes or do i blow it on some geek stuff. It would be real cool to get a new LCD monitor. I think I'll have to head to Golf Town tomorrow to make my decision easier. Golf Shoes baby.

Of course he gets to read the Top Ten List on the “Late Show.” The topic was “Ways Trevor Immelman’s Life Has Changed Since Winning the Masters.” The list included: 10. Turning 40
2008-04-14 20:28:00
So this past weekend I turned 40 years old, now I'm certainly not a virgin but leaving my 30s feels ok because they were great and I look forward to my 40s. The only thing that scares me is I noticed my wife had a life insurance quotes sites bookmarked on our main laptop and I kinda got scared. We already have insurance is she planing to get more insurance and then off me or am I just getting paranoid in my old age. Maybe I'm just getting stir crazy because no golf courses are open yet and I'm getting the itch. Oh! I'm going to love my forties.
Trevor Immelman Masters 2008 - Green Jacket Presentation
2008-04-14 19:55:00
It wasn't perfect Sunday but Trevor Immelman won the Masters Sunday after shooting a 75 his highest round of the 4 days but he battled Sunday and won his first major and the 2nd green jacket won by a South Africa. Goosen and Els must be pretty jealous considering how many times they've played Augusta. Immelman survived several scares on the back nine. On the 12th, he saved bogey after driving left of the green but he managed to pull it together to win.It was a little rough going for Immelman the last year or so but he's obviously strong willed:"One minute, the week before I'm winning a golf tournament and the next week I'm lying in a hospital bed," Immelman said. "You just realize that it just can get taken away so fast; and if you don't enjoy every step of the way, you might regret it, and that would be sad to regret a talent that you were given."Enjoy the green jacket ceremony where Zach Johnson presents the green jacket to Trevor:

Easy Tee Times For Your Favorite Golf Courses
2008-04-14 18:57:00
I don't know about you but it is starting to look alot more like golf season. It looks like it could be around the corner as the snow is melting and my kids have even pointed out that we have a few daffodils and tulips springing out of the ground. That means the maintenance staff is probably getting out there trying to get everything all green and sparkly on the various golf courses in the area. The excitement is infectious as many of my golf buddies are already pre-booking there tee times online. This is the way to go as far as reserving tee times as most courses have some sort of system set up to make it easy to book on the Internet in advance for a foursome or whatever needs you have. What would we of done before the advent of the Internet booking tee times is so hassle free.I even have a few friends that are booking there tee times through AmericanGolf .com at a few California golf courses. Those lucky guys look like they'll be getting a few games in on a business trip next wee...

Not All GolfersThis Good A Shot
2008-03-10 19:23:00
With all the talk and headlines on the weekend centering on a professional golfer being charged with killing an endangered bird with a golf shot what is the world coming to next thing you know a golf pro will be in drug rehab or worse one will be caught using a banned substance. So much was talked about this over the weekend but who really cares was it wrong yes most definitely but lets get back to the sport let's not dwell on the negative. Tripp Isenhour was charged this past week with animal cruelty and killing a migratory bird and could face 14 months in jail and $1,500 in fines he hasn't been convicted yet let him have his day in court and let's get back to watching some birdies.

O'Hair Wins The Pods Championship As Cink Implodes
2008-03-10 15:27:00
Stewart Cink must be just kicking himself today after blowing the 54 hole lead to Sean O'Hair. Stewart Cink collapsed on the back nine of the final round was monumental when it seemed he was in control winning. Cink lost the lead in the middle of a four-hole stretch that he played four-over on the back nine he finished with a 74. O'Hair did keep it together and shot a 69 for a four-under 280 total to take his second career PGA Tour victory. O'Hair really hasn't done much since his victory in 2005. Just look at his record this season before his victory Sunday: 3 of 5 cuts made with finishes of T50, T49, T50. I guess he can send Cink a gift, man sometimes it can be a cruel game.Tags: Stewart Cink, Sean O'Hair, PGA Tour, PODS Championship

Dreaming Of Warmer Climates
2008-03-09 14:10:00
With this latest blast from old man winter I can only dream of warmer climates and the dream of once again playing golf. I curse all those people headed to Spring Break destinations that are not here shoveling out of two feet of snow. I long to feel a warm breeze in my face, not to have to wear so many clothes that I can't move, to bundle my kids so much they can't move. Should I just book a a vacation rental like maybe one of those Branson Rentals where I could play a 18-hole championship layout like LedgeStone where I could play in awe of the Ozark Mountains and the the wife and kids could do there thing.

Jesper Misses The Saturday Cut
2008-03-09 13:41:00
My man Jesper had a rough round Saturday and will not play on Sunday due to the new cut rule on Tour. The new cut rule after the third round is meant to cut down the field to speed up play for television in the final round. Any player that is in Top-70 and ties survive the Saturday cut. Jesper was 9 over after the first three rounds and will be among the first players affected by the new rule. Others included: Tim Herron, Cameron Beckman, Charles Warren, Ted Purdy, Jason Gore and Kevin Streelman.Jesper did have a memorable shot at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club on Friday check it out:
Autism Speaks
2008-03-08 20:55:00
Ernie Els showed up t the Pods Championship this week on the PGA Tour with an "Autism Speaks" logo on his golf bag and a message he wanted to get out. You see his son was diagnosed with autism, which Els and his wife coped with privately until Ernie showed up this week ready to publicly talk about it. "I feel comfortable talking about it now," Els told The Associated Press after he missed the cut Friday in the PODS Championship. "I've got a bit of a profile where it will grab attention. That's what this problem needs. And with that, hopefully, more people will get involved and we can start getting to what causes it and what can be done to help it." His son turned five in October, the youngest of two children, a big boy with blond hair and blue eyes. "Ben is quite affected by it," Els said. "But he's a lovely boy."So the wins are important but his family obviously is where his heart is, good for Ernie to finally come out now and be proactive with informing about autism and sp...
The Bluebook Can Help With Web Hosting
2008-03-07 00:13:00
I always love when I stumble upon a great resource while searching the Internet you know one of those ones that you bookmark and you tell your buddies about. Looking after a few blogs and websites it's always good to stay up to date on things especially related to web hosting, domain names and general maintenance of a website. Clients will constantly have questions for you because they've read such and such, so sites like Web Hosting Bluebook can be a great resource. A client asks you what is a domain name you can use the Bluebook to give them the scoop. It's laid out in a easy manner to search and read plus it's simplified in easy to understand language. I like to use it to see if there a better hosting company I might want to try because the Bluebook breaks all that hosting info down and gives you a list of top hosting companies. Try it it's a great resource.

2008-03-06 22:52:00
Yesterday it was announced that TaylorMade adidas Golf (TMAG) had signed a 3 year deal with the RCGA here in Canada to supply volunteers at the Mens and Ladies Canadian Opens. Considering I'm volunteering this year at the 2008 Canadian Open at Glen Abbey I was excited as I know TM/Adidas Golf makes some nice stuff. Here's what the press release looks like:CARLSBAD, Calif.
