This is the time of the year you start to get the itch to get out on the golf course and hit your clubs, except it's snowing out and your probably looking at at least two months plus til we can get onto a golf course here in the Ottawa area. Well in the off season we like to look for golf deals especially online ones involving expensive Scotty Cameron putters. I also like to find online coupons where I can save lots of money on last years balls and golf clubs. whatever you do stay active because we will get out there soon, maybe just not soon enough.

TaylorMade Spider Putter Seen At Buick Invitational

There's always some crazy looking putters floating around the PGA Tour and this week's tournament doesn't disappoint. We have the new TaylorMade Spider putter which was seen today at the Buick Invitational. It was being played by Dustin Johnson who ended up shooting an even par round on the harder South Course at Torrey Pines. It's made the Golf Digest's 2008 Hotlist this year so we may see it more out on tour. In addition to high-MOI features, such as enormous volume, and a variety of alignment guides, the Spider's primary attribute is the "anti skid groove system insert." Made of a lightweight but durable seven-metal alloy, the insert is designed to reduce skid and impart forward roll on the ball as early as possible. Fantasy Picks For The Buick Invitational

Well this week PGA Tour spot is in what's usually the sunny San Diego area unfortunately it's going to rain all 4 days of the tournament so little sunshine will be seen. The big thing about this week is who will do well other than Tiger as everyone will have Tiger as one of there picks. Defending Champion Goosen Out Of Qatar Masters

Vision problems were to much for Retief Goosen to compete this week and defend the Qatar masters. The South African came to Doha after undergoing corrective laser surgery ten days ago but during practice on Tuesday, his vision in one eye began to blur. He immediately travelled to Dubai for further treatment and was hopeful of playing the event even on Tuesday night. D.J. Trahan Final Round Video- Bob Hope Chrysler Classic

Justin Leonard fell apart on the back nine of the Classic Course and D.J. Trahan charged through with a solid round of 65 to win his second PGA Tour victory at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic this past Sunday. Leonard led by four strokes at the beginning of the final round and couldn't hold onto the lead as he went over par on his final 10 holes including driving his ball into the water on #18. D.J. Trahan key stats for the week where his putting , he took just 130 putts (26 per round) to lead that category and had a 1.585 average on the greens he hit, also leading that one. Well I've been in so many different Fantasy Golf Leagues over the last few years, won a few too. I thought I might start one of my own just for fun. You have to love this time of the year all the big OEM companies are announcing there new lineups for the coming year, for equipment junkies we feed off this stuff because there's snow on the ground and we can't golf at least here in the Ottawa area. Bridgestone seems to be pretty hush hush and don't want to release any pics til the new year. At GolfWrx.com not to long ago a member posted some sweet pics of the new J36 irons, all I can say is they looked pretty sweet but they weren't up long as they were taken down, apparently Bridgestone doesn't want us equipment junkies to get a sneak peak. Ok I never understand the golfers who buy these expensive putters and don't game them. You know the guys who have like 10 Scotty Camerons but don't use them and most have never even seen a golf ball. I just don't get it if you have a putter use it. People will say they are collectors but I just don't get it. Putters are for putting right not for hanging on my wall.Just got a email form Odyssey Golf about one of those crazy expensive putters that I'm sure some crazy collector will buy and never game. They're called the Damascus Grand putter and they're made form Damascus steel which apparently is expensive and very strong and has a wild stripe pattern. As you can see from the picture below it's a sweet looking putter with the dark nickel plated PVD finish . Here's the catch only 15 will be produced get yours now. Not one of the 4 Canadian at the grueling 6 round Q-school could earn there full PGA Tour card for next year. Brian DeCorso of Guelph, Ont. must be happy though as he finished tied for 74th at Q School in Winter Garden, Fla., and that gets him fully exempt status for the Nationwide Tour in 2008. DeCorso shot a 74 in the sixth round Monday to finish at eight-under for the tournament, the exact cutoff for being fully exempt on the Nationwide Tour for next year.The three other Canadians Brad Fritsch of Manotick, Ont. (T-85th), Lee Curry of Kemptville, Ont. (T-93rd), and Leggatt of Cambridge, Ont. (T-141st), will be conditionally exempt on the Nationwide Tour.

Titleist 906F4 Fairway Wood Reviews

This is one sweet looking fairway wood, I had a 906F2 for a little while, this one looks to be a bit more forgiving for the higher handicapper, could end up in the bag one day too. U.S. Cargo Control Came Through In a Pinch

I recently helped a friend move and everything went pretty smooth except that he had to replace a few Ratchet Straps and moving blankets that had gone missing during his move. Moving tends to be a bit stressful and this he thought was going to be not good. Instead e ended finding a great online retailer to replace the straps and blankets for him and he didn't have to leave home. He got to purchase them on there secure website with no fuss and muss, which gave him more time to arrange and put away all his stuff in his new home. At U.S. Cargo Control he was able to find the exact ratchet straps that had been lost in the move plus some reasonable priced blankets as well. Ernie Els has got to be the favorite this week in South Africa to win his 4th Nedbank Challenge Golf tournament. Fun Shopping Across The Border

My wife wants to head over the border to do some shopping in the States before Christmas. The closest spot is about an hour and a half away in Watertown New York. They have the Salmon Run Outlet Mall that has my wife giddy with shopping excitement in part because they have some stores we just don't have here north of the border. Take for instance Steve & Barry's, they offer low-price apparel with pizzazz. My wife's excited because they have Sarah Jessica Parkers' line of clothes. There's also Bubba Watson line of reasonably priced golf apparel. I'm amazed at the inexpensive apparel with professional golfer Bubba Watson name on it, apparently he's even had some input on the designs.
