First Day of Q-School Interesting-Still A Long Way Though
2007-11-29 01:16:00
Interesting first day at Q-School with wily veteran and two time winner on the PGA Tour Frank Lickliter II shooting a 10-under 62 at Orange County National to share the first-round lead with Brendon de Jonge who also had a 62. Nice scores but there are still 5 long gruelings rounds left, so you definitely can't win the first day or lose either unless you shoot some crazy high 80's score or worse. Just like Canadian Ian Leggett who's last after a 77, he can still put it together and do well this week. This is how the other Canadians did, Bryan Decorso 68, Brad Fritsch 69, Lee Curry 76. What's interesting is Bryan probably is the least know out of this group and he's holding his own after the first round. Can't wait for the coverage on The Golf Channel starting Saturday.Tags: Q-School, PGA Tour

CheckOutMyCards.Com
2007-11-26 09:16:00
CheckOutMyCards.com is a website I just happen to stumble upon following one of those Google syndication links in my Gmail and presto I found CheckOutMyCards which is a nice looking and well designed website for selling sports cards. Of course I had to see what they had under the golf section as I like to dabble in golf cards on occasion(have sold a few on eBay.ca)and of course there are a few listed but the bulk listings are in the baseball and basketball listings. You can set up an account for free and the fees are as follows:1)Shipping is $2 + .20 cents per card2)Processing fee of .20 cents per card after you send your cards3)20% commission if you cash-out what you make. If you buy more cards no commissions. These entrepreneurs from Redmond, Washington seem to be on the right track.Tags: sports cards, golf cards, baseball cards

Aaron Baddeley 2007 Australian Masters Champion
2007-11-26 03:17:00
It's hard to believe Aaron Baddeley once thought of quiting golf and returning back to his native Australia because he was homesick. That didn't become a reality and he's now the 2007 Australian Masters Champion after defeating Daniel Chopra with a birdie on the 4th playoff hole in Melbourne. His hard time in the US back in 2000 obviously has paved the way for the this guy to rise to #18 in World Rankings(soon to rise after this weeks win). Nice season for Aaron as he won this year on the PGA Tour at the FBR Open, he also had 7 top tens. Stuart Appleby might of also been in the playoff too but his double bogey on #18 killed any chance of that."Back in late 2000 I honestly told my dad I wanted to quit," he said. "Golf was just too hard, I was homesick and I wanted to come back to Australia and things were just too difficult."Tags: Aaron Baddeley, Australian Masters Champion

The World Cup There For The Taking
2007-11-25 05:31:00
As the final round gets underway at the Mission Hills golf course there are alot of teams fighting for the top spot and the coveted World Cup Championship. The USA led after 3 rounds at -20 but have seen there one stroke lead disappear. Right now there's about 6 or 7 countries that could win it. As usual it will boil down to who gets it close and hits the putts. Canada had a good day yesterday with a 64 but are too far behind to win it all. I think Scotland or South Africa will win just because of experience. We'll see, stay tuned.Tags: Omega Mission Hills World Cup

Here Ye! Here Ye!
2007-11-03 01:38:00
With a third child on the way in January we're all pretty excited in our household because we know it's a boy so it a little easier to plan where he'll sleep as the two girls rooms can stay where they are and we can send off the girls clothes that don't fit anymore to a consignment store. Another thing that my wife are loving is finding new and exciting things surrounding the whole experience. We've gone with a midwife for this birth so this has been nothing but a great experience. We're also thinking we'll send out photo birth announcements to all those special people that want a nice keepsake memento of the 3rd child. We don't want him to get left out because he'll deserve some fireworks just like the two girls had.

Flip For Profit
2007-11-01 18:22:00
A friend of my mine is selling there house, they've only been in it less then 5 years. I've never actually been to there house before but she sent some real estate pictures to my email and I couldn't believe why they would be selling such a lovely house. It's in the country on a few acre lot. The house has some beautiful stonework on the outside and inside it has some amazing custom work with a spiral staircase to the main bedrooms along with some amazing wood floors. Apparently what they do they is they build a home and flip it in a few years for a profit, then build another one. I don't know whether I'd ever get use to the stress of moving but to each his own and they usually always make money.

Fantasy Golf Picks For The Children's Miracle Network Classic
2007-11-01 14:51:00
The final event of the PGA Tour season is in Lake Buena Vista Florida this week. It's being played at the Walt Disney Resort, the Magnolia Course (7,516 yards, par 72) and Palm Course (7,015 yards, par 72). You've going to have to make lots of birdies so your putter will have to be on this week. You'll also have to be patient as the first two rounds each player is partnered with an amateur. You will also have to take the family to Disney World so you must have lots of energy. Players are playing for $828,000 so this obviously will go along way for those struggling to get into the top 125, Ted Purdy of Phoenix is currently on the bubble at No. 125 with $758,734. Immediately behind him are J.B. Holmes ($754,616), Kevin Stadler of Scottsdale ($737,276), Brett Quigley ($717,411), Craig Kanada ($713,280) and Harrison Frazar ($698,534). My picks are basically based on those playing well and those good putters that make lots of birdiesTim Clark- He's gone T5, T7, T18 in his last three ...

Treat The Cause Of Addiction
2007-10-31 19:47:00
I'm always amazed at all the celebrities checking into different centers for drug rehabilitation. These high priced places that never seem to work all that well because a few months later the celebrity is back in the center for more help. They just seem to treat the disease and not the causes of the disease. The cause behind the addiction seems to get missed in some of these programs. You'd think this would be the focus. I guess I'm just tired of hearing of it in the media.

Srixon Golf Buys Cleveland Golf
2007-10-31 16:53:00
Well it's finally over, with all the rumors floating around on all the golf forums about who's going to buy Cleveland Golf . The winner is SRI Sports Ltd. (parent of Srixon) landing Cleveland (which was owned by Quiksilver) for $132.5 million.According to a source familiar with the negotiations. The deal is expected to close before January 31, 2008 with net proceeds from the sale being used to pay off debt. Quiksilver acquired Cleveland in two separate purchases (as part of its acquisition of Rossignol in July, 2005 and a separate deal two months later for the remaining portion).SRI (which also own the Dunlop name in Japan and, according to its financial report, had net sales of $2.2 billion for the first six months of 2007) is the largest equipment company in Japan, but a brand still trying to gain traction in the U.S. The marriage, however, does make sense. Although also a maker of clubs, Srixon's primary market in the U.S. is in golf balls and according to Srixon's web site, S...

Somethings Should Be Left Up To The Man
2007-10-30 20:51:00
I know most of the time the guy never has much say in planning his wedding. The soon to be wife usually pulls all the strings and is usually has the final say when it comes to arrangements that have to do with the big day. A friend of mine is having a beach wedding and wants it to be casual hence the beach setting. The bride has pretty much chosen what she wants him to wear but he's leaning towards a real classy casual look. These wedding shirts inspire a cool look that's for sure and I have to agree with my friend. I got married on a beach also; not in the Tropics but in B.C. and I might of look at some of these casual options more if I knew they existed. They are made of cool fabrics and elegant designs not to flashy. They're casual pants and shorts are available in some good colors and smart fabric options. Maybe somethings should be left up to the man for weddings.

What's Tiger Been Up To Since The President's Cup
2007-10-30 19:11:00
From Tiger :It's been nice to have some time off and hang out with my family. We had a good trip on the boat and did a little fishing. Mostly, it was just fun to get away.Obviously, it's been a great year on and off the course. My eyes light up every time I see my new daughter. Sam Alexis is 4-months-old and growing every day. She can grab things now and has held a golf club in her hands. I didn't start swinging a club until I was 11 months, so she's got seven months until that happens. For Elin and I, it's all about the little firsts: Our first Halloween with Sam; our first Thanksgiving; our first Christmas. I've never been much of a holiday guy, but this is a pretty cool feeling. Everything has changed since we had Sam.For once, I won't be traveling or competing on Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to spending time with my family and friends and plan to watch some football on television. On the course, I finished strong and won seven tournaments, which isn't too bad. Taking Muscle Milk For A Test Run
2007-10-30 00:24:00
If you're like me you've probably never heard of muscle milk before, well up until recently I was clueless too until a friend gave me some to try. This protein powder comes in array of flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mocha joe, root beer, and banana cream. The kind I got to try out was vanilla which tasted o.k. mixed with some of my favorite soy beverage. Muscle Milk is considered a protein blend whey powder. You can take it throughout the day and also as a bed time protein. Muscle Milk is patterned after human mother's milk, which has excellent anabolic growth potentials which is great for when your working out and training. I continue to try it out, will keep you informed of the results.

St. Augustine -More Than Just Golf
2007-10-28 12:01:00
My father-in-law and his wife frequently spend alot of time in the Fall and Winter months in Florida. Mainly the St. Augustine area where they rent a condo and play alot of golf when I'm up here in Canada freezing my you know what off. They're always suggesting we should come down for a visit with the kids because there's so much to do in the area. My wife of course thinks I'll be golfing the whole time but I know there lots for her to do as well.My Father-in-law was saying they have great shopping and other great Events in St. Augustine as well. Shopping is definitely something my wife and I are good at and apparently they have end-of-the-month events called Uptown Saturday Nights(Nov.24th and Dec. 29th remaining this year) that would be right up are alley. It takes place from 5pm to 9pm the last Saturday of every month in the Uptown San Marco Shopping District of St. Augustine. This sounded like something my wife and I would love. We never realized the history and culture of ...
