Shaquille O’Neal Volunteers For Tempe Police

The Phoenix Suns brought Shaquille O’Neal to the desert to bolster their defense. It looks like the Big Fella will be serving and protecting the paint along with the citizens of Tempe , Arizona. Following in his law enforcement loving ways, Shaquille O’Neal has signed up as a volunteer for the Tempe Police . The Phoenix Suns player visited the police station March 20 and filled out an application to be a volunteer, said department spokeswoman Sgt. Cindy Davies. Davies said she did not know when O’Neal planned to start volunteering or why he chose Tempe. Police department volunteers assist in a range of activities, from handing out flyers to acting as an interpreter. After Shaq’s attempts at Chinese, it looks like he’ll be the Big Leaflet. I don’t know what his duties were with the Miami police, but he had a Reno 911! moment when he worked with sheriffs in Virginia.. Adam “Pacman ” Jones and his lawyer Manubir Arora are making the rounds in hopes of repairing Pacman’s image. Throwing parties and promising to make it rain would seem to be doing the opposite of that, but I could be wrong. There’s no need to watch all of this 9 1/2 minute video unless you’re interested in Pacman’s bowling skills. All you need to see/hear is from 1:40 to about 3:00. During that span Jones is read the news of Deangelo Hall ’s seven year $70 million contract and says “I just can’t wait til I get reinstated. The Dems were buying what McNamee was selling, the Republicans were clearly riding for Roger, and the country was exposed to Clemens’ ass and a lot of butt kissing. Tom Davis, a Republican from Virginia, has dropped his thoughts on the whole mess with a new report. As you can guess it favors The Rocket. The top Republican on the congressional committee investigating whether Roger Clemens used performance-enhancing drugs has released a report questioning whether the seven-time Cy Young Award winner lied in his testimony before the panel last month. The latest no good slacker youths to get on my nerves are wrestlers for Woodbury high school in Minnesota. They had a coach that cared about them and had their best interest at heart, but they threw it all away. An assistant wrestling coach at Woodbury High School who’s accused of offering beer to team members has been fired. A search warrant affidavit alleges the 21-year-old coach arrived at the Crown Plaza Hotel in St. Paul on Feb. 29. with a case of beer, accompanied by two high school-aged girls, and offered the alcohol to everyone in the room. The Boston Celtics are 55-15 and ripping through the NBA. Even though they were handling everybody they faced, the Celts lacked size and experience at point guard. The team addressed those issues by picking up Sam Cassell and P.J. Brown , but former player and current Celtics broadcaster Tommy Heinsohn doesn’t like the moves. To hear the critics tell it, allowing high schoolers into the NBA ruins the league. For some reason, high school basketball players are deemed to be less worthy prepared to deal with professional life than young tennis, hockey, and baseball players. ESPN’s True Hoop author Henry Abott wrote about the issue, and refers to Michael McCann’s paper that refutes the idea of high school players damaging the NBA. It’s pointed out on True Hoop that the top three candidates for NBA MVP (LeBron, KG, Kobe) didn’t go to college. I have Chris Paul in my top three and King James out, but that’s not the point right now. If you look at the playoff standings, six of the 16 teams that currently qualify are headed by players that didn’t go to college. Boston-Garnett, Orlando-Howard, Cleveland-James, LA Lakers-Bryant, Houston-McGrady, and Dallas-Nowitzki. Curt Schilling is known for being a big game pitcher, and a big mouth. Schill’s not a trash talker he just has an opinion on any and every thing. There’s a fine line between opening up and needing to zip it up, and 38 tends to fall on the side of the latter. While I obviously rarely agree with Curt’s opinions I think he handled the global warming question from the snowman pretty well.. For a politician. I would bet that 95% of Americans don’t know who Saint Patrick was or why we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. They don’t care either. A day dedicated to drinking alcohol doesn’t need an explanation. This year, while celebrating the life of St. Patrick and wonderful Irish creations such as the potato and alcohol poisoning, we should be thankful for another Irish product. Black -Irish athletes. Everybody makes a big deal out of black athletes or African-American athletes, but when do you ever hear about the plight of the Blirish athlete?
