Pezão is back 13 kg lighter on Saturday

After a surgery and achieving the requirements of the athletic committee of California, that had denied his visa to fight in America because of a small tumor located in the pituitary gland, Antonio Pezão is back, lighter and more motivated to reach the top of the heavyweight category . According to his manager, Alex Davis, the surgery held in Nova Friburgo, in Rio de Janeiro , by Dr. Marcelo Pinaus was a great success. "Now he´s lighter and faster. Sherk's Attorney Formally Protests Hearing Date

By Loretta Hunt Howard Jacobs, the attorney representing UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk in his appeal of a California State Athletic Commission suspension for suspected steroid use, has formally protested the latest scheduled hearing date of Tuesday, Dec. 4 in Los Angeles. Sherk?s case has already been postponed twice. Jacobs said all parties involved, including commissioners and the state?s legal counsel ? I am really looking forward to this fight and would like to first thank Joe Silva and Dana White and Lorenzo Fertita for offering me this fight and making it happen. I have fought for the UFC for years and consider it my home. They provide me with opportunities of a lifetime over and over again. I would also like to thank Brock Lesnar for signing on for the fight. My roots are in Karate then Wrestling then Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so I have huge respect for wrestlers. The biggest success was UWF International, or UWFI. The UWFI was a worked promotion built around Nobuhiko Takada, who derided the legitimacy of other Japanese wrestling companies. UWFI also featured young wrestlers Kazushi Sakuraba and Kiyoshi Tamura, who went on to have great success in mixed martial arts. Akira Maeda formed his own promotion, RINGS. RINGS was initially a worked promotion, built around Maeda. Over time, it would begin to mix works with shoots. Nelson (10-2, 3-1 IFL) will meet Brazilian Antoine Jaoude for the IFL heavyweight championship at the IFL World Grand Prix on Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The Albuquerque, N.M.-based trainer says the game plan he drew up for Marquardt sunk his middleweight contender. "This loss was my fault. I based too much on the Lutter fight in trying to get the fight to the ground. We were in too much of a rush, and Nate got caught. But we can work on those things, and we'll be better next time." Now, fight fans will get to find out if he has the skills to be a true professional. Slice, whose real name is Kevin Ferguson, signed a long-term deal with EliteXC on Oct. 11th. This Saturday night he will make his debut for the promotion on the EliteXC: Renegade show at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
