Celtic 0 - 0 Dundee Utd.
2008-03-13 01:59:00 Celtic dropped two valuable points today against Dundee United. Even though Celtic had most of the possession and hit the post twice, the Bhoys failed to beat a watered-down Dundee United side. Scott Brown, Lee Naylor, and Georgios Samaras were the changes made to the side from last weekend. Celtic controlled the first 30 minutes of play, creating a couple of chances. Naka hit the post early on. Scott McDonald also hit the post. After that it was not so good. United had the next chance, heading over Boruc’s bar. The second half saw few chances, save a late header from Vennegoor of Hesselink that the Dutchman put over the crossbar. He probably should have put it away. Anyways, Celtic are still 3 points behind the Huns having played one more game. That’s not good news. The OF matches will be even more crucial now. The title will depend on these 3 games. 2008-03-09 23:10:00 Celtic barely survived this Scottish Cup encounter with the Dons, but managed to hang on with a last-grasp goal from Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. Aberdeen started well. They had plenty of wing play and good crossing into the area. Celtic looked strained to clear the danger. As the home side pushed for the early victory, Celtic looked the weaker side. Aberdeen had what looked to be the first goal, but Lee Miller was offsides and the goal rightly dismissed. Celtic’s play was not beautiful. In fact, it was ugly at times. The ball was often just punted up the pitch out of defense, looking for the head of JVoH or McDonald. The Celtic midfield was comprised of McGeady, Hartley, Nakamura, and Sno. I was surprised at Sno. He had a good game against Barcelona and looked comfortable against the Dons. A positive that Sno brought to the game today was his passing.
