Winter Running Gear Part 2
2007-12-01 23:53:00 In my last post (Winter Running Gear Part 1) I talked a little bit about screw shoes, Yaktrax, and other accessories to help keep you from slipping when running on snowy and icy surfaces. I’ve since done a little more searching and found out about a couple more options: Grip-ons - ice and now traction cleats you wear over your shoes (much like STABILicers) Get-A-Grip - a similar product to Grip-ons and STABILicers, but looks a little flimsy to me Anyone used either of these products? I also wanted to mention to those of you that may not have read the comments on the last post that davegill55 from The MS Runner wrote to say that he has worn the Yaktrax and he thinks that “they work real well on hard packed snow, but not so great on ice.” Thanks for the comment, Dave! While searching for alternatives to screw shoes, I came across a running shoe meant specifically for running on snow and ice - Icebugs. Icebugs come in several models, most of which seem to feature c...

Should you run with or without headphones?
2007-10-23 03:21:00 I never used to run with headphones, primarily for safety reasons. Then I bought an iPod Nano, and that all changed.
