Big 10 Tournament Preview: Iowa-Michigan
2008-03-13 04:30:00 When it comes to 8 and 9 seed matchups, especially in conference tournaments, teams are normally pretty well matched up in terms of records and even statistics. In the case of the Iowa Hawkeyes-Michigan Wolverines matchup, you can’t get much closer with two teams. First of all, in the conference standings, these two teams are only 1 game apart. In terms of the 2 game matchup between the two in the regular season, they split the series and each won by 8 points. Something’s gotta give. Iowa really is sliding overall coming into the tournament, only winning 3 of their last10, with 2 of those games coming against last place Northwestern. Sure, there were some tough games, but there were some games that were very winnable.
