Against Services, Sreekumar Nair scored 306 not out. This is a Kerala record, as it surpassed the highest score of 262 not out by Balan Pandit.Mathew, the KCA President announced an award of one lakh rupees for the batsman.In the recent ODI series against Pak, Yuvraj-Dhoni combine scored 326 runs and has propped up the middle order. Aquib Javed says that these batsmen have no weak areas. Yuvraj. Dhoni, Uthappa - these batsmen were responsible for India's T20 victory.Sachin continues his deadly form. If he was not out in the nervous nineties 16 times, it would have been 94 centuries.

This is the 16th time Sachin has gone out in the nervous nineties !Overall he has scored the highest number of runs, 27082, with 41 ODI centuries and 37 in Tests. People were waiting for his 42nd hundred, when he got out for 97.Ganguly created another record of scoring more than 10000 runs and 100 wickets. Only Sachin ( 15932 runs, 154 wickets ) and Sanath Jayasuriya ( 12207 runs, 307 wickets ) are ranked above him.Zaheer Khan, India's leading strike bowler, completed 200 wickets in ODIs, when he clean bowled the Pak skipper, Shoaib Malik.In the Ranji match against Services, Kerala were 293/2, with Sreekumaran Nair on an unbeaten 169 and Jagdeesh on 101.When I am writing this, New Zealand had begun well with 84/1 in their Test match against RSA. It seems Dhoni is lucky. The T20 World Cup he brought, and now he has beaten Pakistan. Of course, he lost the series to Australia, but then it was against the ODI World Champions. He won the T20 match against them also. So he has an enviable record as skipper.Dhoni opined that those coming from villages like him are more mentally tough than the urbanites. Considering him and Kapil Dev, the statement appears to be correct.Tha Pak bowlers declared that they are far better than India in bowling. Maybe in pace bowling, but not in the spin department.India, reputed to be the best batting side in the world, lived true to her reputation. It is true that fast bowling and fielding should be improved, if India is to keep her World Champion status !

India's victory in the Indo-Pak series

India played well yesterday and Pak seems to be all nerves. There was a chance for Pak after India lost Sachin and Sehwag but they came across two in-form batsmen, Yuvraj and Dhoni and victory was easy for India.Ganguly became the third player to score 10000 runs and take 100 wickets. Sachin and Jayasuria before him had done so.Now India can experiment with youngsters Rohit Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Yousuf Pathan, Badrinath etc in the next ODI and if she continues this trend in Test matches, also in Tests they can do that.Hats off to India for a sterling performance

What happened to Pakistan ? They scored well over 300 runs last match but were all out yesterday for 248! Butt's century was in vain.Yuvraj was at his explosive best. Afridi and Younis Khan, the best hitters of Pak. were bowled by Pathan and RP Singh! Except for Butt, nobody else scored.The series have become interesting with India winning one match, Pak the other, India one more. We are in for a thrilling series. Both are equal teams, both hugely talented, but sometimes lacking the professionalism of the Australians and the South Africans! If both teams improve their fielding, they can be match for both Aussies and SA !

Today's match is going to be thrilling. Pak wants to come back and India hopes to consolidate. Regarding hitters Afridi and Sehwag, they are pinch hitters and can get out at any time. Pak played well for 239, with Yousuf top scoring with 83. On the other hand, India did well to restrict Pak to 239 !The declining 3 Muskateers continue their lacklustre performance. Sachin perished for 4 and Ganguly played well for this 39. But it was the next generation heroes - Gambhir, Dhoni & Yuvraj - who played really well. 20 years back, two of the finest allrounders in India were Kapil and Yograj Singh. Yograj did not have the necessary luck to make it to the top and there was a time when he contemplated suicide. So he taught his ten year old son the rudiments of cricket and that 10 year old went on to become India's greatest hitter, Yuvraj !

The exclusion of Dravid !

There is a hue and cry raised about the dropping of Dravid . He was dropped only for ODIs and not Tests. He is off form also. SO one cannot completely criticise the selectors. There are 33 players on BCCI payroll. It was a very young side which brought India the T20 World Cup. Not the seniors !We should give more chance to youth, to Badrinath, to Tiwari, to Praveen Kumar, to Yousuf Pathan, to Rohith Sharma etc. Then only can we have a powerful team. We are not disrespecting the Three Muskateers ( Dravid, Sourav and Sachin ) but think of India after 5 years !

Being the Numero Uno is possible for India !

In T20, India is First, in ODIs 5th, behind Australia, RSA, NZ,Pakistan and in Tests Third after Australia and England.It is a psychological game. Similar to " All wars are won in the Mind " so " All games are won in the Mind ". If Indian players change their mindset, they can also become No 1 in ODIs and Tests, as they have done in T20 !

It is good that the T20 has clicked. It is also good that India has won the World Cup .Now more and more nations will be playing this Instant Cricket. US, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE etc will be coming on to the global arena. There are indications that T20 is the future. Let us wait and see
