Rookie Cheikh Samb Might Not Be Going To The D-League After-all
2007-11-19 21:27:00 Like I had hoped, Cheikh Samb might not be going to the D-league this season...Detroit Free PressCHANGE OF PLANS? After rookie Cheikh Samb made a solid showing against the Lakers on Friday, there's a chance the Pistons will wait -- maybe indefinitely -- to send him to the NBA-Development League ."I think we've talked a little bit, and I think we'll hold off for now," Saunders said. "There's no question we can throw him in the game. He has a presence. ... You're not afraid to put someone like that on the floor."Saunders has always favored keeping Samb around. The 7-foot-1 center has been too impressive, too quickly for Saunders to want to give him up."I felt all along how Cheikh has played, he has really played exceptionally well," Saunders said. "His growth as a player, both physically and mentally, has been nothing short of astronomical." More About: Going , Goin , Rookie
Pistons Overcome A 22 Point Deficit and Win Against the Warriors 111-104
2007-11-15 18:41:00 Get this! The Pistons, without Chauncey (due to a hip and knee injury) and Antonio McDyess (shoulder injury), overcame a 22 point deficit and beat the Warrior s Wednesday night 111-104. Flip Murray and Jason Maxiell both did a superb job filling in for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess. Flip had 15 points and 12 assists and Jason Maxiell had a double-double, 14 points and 14 rebounds. A Good example of how deep the Pistons are this year. The starters Rasheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince, had 22 points each. Next opponent the L.A Lakers, Friday night at 10:30 pm. GO PISTONS! More About: Point , Overcome , Deficit
Dyess and Chauncey Shoot Lights Out Against The Clippers
2007-11-10 23:13:00 The Pistons was excellent against the Clippers Friday night. Antonio McDyess shot with surgical precision. He shot 7 for 7 and had 14 points. Chauncey, once again made it known why he is "Mr Big Shot", knocking down 6 3-pointers. He finished with 23 points and 5 assists. Rip had 10 points and 10 assists. Nazr Mohammed was very active. First he caught a long pass from Rip and made the shot, even though he was fouled. Then in the second quarter he scored on a tip-in after a Chauncey Billups miss. Nazr finished with an impressive, 15 points, 7 rebounds and two blocks. Flip Saunders did not play the starters in the fourth quarter, giving Amir Johnson a chance to play for the entire quarter. He didn't score, but he contributed with a nice pass to to Nazr, a sweet pass to Jarvis and a block at the other end. The Pistons won 103-79. More About: Lights , Shoot
Bulls Slaughter Pistons In Paint And Wins 97-93
2007-11-09 18:23:00 I love the Pistons of course, otherwise I wouldn't be a Pistons Fan, but what I hate about the Pistons is that every time they play the Bulls , its like their mind is somewhere else. Once again they stood around like a bunch of deers caught in headlights, as the Bulls continued to punk them all up in the paint area. They're reaction was slow, as if they had concrete stuck to their feet. None of the starters seemed to be interested in playing any type of defense, not even slightly. They uncharacteristically turned the ball over 17 times, and couldn't rebound if there lives depended on it. Still they only lost by four points. I'm not trying to take anything away from the Bulls, they're a good team, but not nearly as good as the Pistons make them look. Although they don't want to admit it, the Pistons have not gotten over Ben Wallace, and although Ben tries to act all "buddy buddy" with his new teammates, in front of the view of the camera, he hasn't gotten over the Pistons either. Tayshaun Prince Blazes the Heat
2007-11-03 22:14:00 Tayshaun Prince was on fire Thursday night against the Heat , scoring 34 points. He also had 12 rebounds. Rip Hamilton was excused from playing due to the birth of his first son Richard Clay Hamilton II (8 pounds and 21 inches) who was born on Halloween.. The Piston's beat the Heat 91-80. Lets hope Tay continues to play like this all season long, especially during the play-offs.

Rodney Stuckey Breaks His Hand - Ben Wallaces' "Fro" Good Luck Afterall.
2007-11-03 22:10:00 Good and bad news. The Good news is the Pistons beat the Wizards Wednesday night at the Palace 105-85. The bad news is, Rodney Stuckey, who was by far having is best game as a Piston, broke his hand. What the heck is going on here. The injuries just seem to be piling up. First it was Nazr Mohammed, then it was Amir Johnson, Rip Hamilton, and now Rodney Stuckey... I'm not used to the Pistons having so many injuries. The strange thing about is, it seems like after Ben Wallace left, the Pistons became more prone to injury than ever. So maybe Ben's "Fro" was Good Luck after-all. Pistons Are Looking Good This Season With Rookies Rodney Stuckey, Aaron Aff
2007-11-03 21:50:00 Wow am I excited about the Pistons this year! I am happy to say that the Rookie s Rodney Stuckey and Aaron Afflalo, who are expected to crack the rotation this season, are great additions to the team. They can score, their not afraid to shoot the ball or attack the basket... Lets face it, these guys are fierce. Then theirs Cheikh Samb. Yes, don't forget to add Cheikh Samb to the family. His quickness, defense and rebounding is very much needed as well, especially after Ben Wallace left, taking with him the Pistons defensive edge and swagger. Yes, I say the team needs Cheikh now, and I think he's ready for the challenge. Come on! Don't send him off to the the D-League just yet! Besides what better experience can a Rookie have, than playing along side a group of All Star Veterans?Speaking of D-League, Mr. D-League graduate himself, Amir Johnson is back and I think I speak for all Pistons Fans when I say, I can't wait to see what he brings to the mix. Lets hope his ankle heals so... More About: Season , Good |
