A great series amidst hollywood melodrama
2008-01-28 13:30:00
Before the start of this series, my expectations on the performance of the Indian team would have been a series draw and sadly however hard you try to not read the score line, it shows Australia wins. So am I disappointed with the fabulous 5 ageing Indian batsmen and the young bowlers? not really?

Bad blood
2008-01-28 11:46:00
It was strange when I wanted to write this post, I felt it was a long time since I listened to my good old metal collection and ended up hearing the soundtrack of the Matrix movie by Ministry? the song ?bad blood?, which ironically this series had its share of spills.

My favourite cricketer? Adam Gilchrist
2008-01-28 09:35:00
Ok? this is not to be an ideal tribute or anything of that sort. To me, he is my favourite cricketer. As far as his accomplishments in the game is concerned, am sure there will be thousands of articles written on that which I will enjoy it better reading rather than writing with my half-baked ...

Solutions for a reliable foot no-ball call
2008-01-25 13:46:00
The recent trend among umpires has been in the areas of not being able to call foot no-ball calls consistently. The added pressure of the media and the commentators with endless replays has put quite a bit of pressure on the umpires who tend to concentrate more on the line and height at the other ...

On India and racism
2008-01-20 07:22:00
I wanted to write about this and then stumbled on this short but well written article from the Ducking Beamer’s blog on India and racism. You can read about it here. However let’s not confuse this to the actual incident that happened and focus on some of the statements from the boards, ex-players who truly believe ...

The curious case of Shaun Tait
2008-01-18 14:53:00
Once again there was much hype in the Australian media and the man himself on his speed and also that he will rip through the Indian batting like butter. Sadly he failed at everything? bowling extraordinarily fast, walking the talk or be a handful to the Indian batsmen.

A refreshing twenty-20 bash
2008-01-14 09:11:00
Away from the madness of the controversies of the India-Australia test series, it was a refreshing change to see the twenty-20 championship bash where Victoria beat Western Australia by 32 runs. The match was entertaining and it was heartening to see a substantial crowd land up to watch the proceedings, which is a far cry ...

Shaun Pollock announced his retirement from International cricket, which doesn?t come as a surprise as he has been slowly booted out in place of the younger breed of South African fast bowlers.

Behold: The clash of two viewpoints
2008-01-08 09:17:00
Rich in his blog cricket-blog.co.uk, had a track back to my post and has expressed his views on Indian bloggers over-reacting unnecessarily. I couldn?t possibly post these in the comments section.

This match is f@$Kin fixed!
2008-01-06 07:01:00
That’s it folks! After watching some more atrocious one-sided umpiring happen, I have lost any love to continue watching this series… no more further posts about the series. This match is F@$kin fixed.

Hayden?s ton and the umpiring saga continues
2008-01-05 09:49:00
Mathew Hayden notched up yet another century and as much as I dislike him, the fact is I cannot ignore him for what he has done for world cricket through his batting. After he gets a start, it is almost written that he will be out only by his own doing almost every time again ...

Bhajji and Tendlya stick it to the Aussies
2008-01-04 10:16:00
A great day for the series as such and finally India sticks it to the opposition to throw open the match to a great contest. It was important that Tendulkar and Sourav play well to ensure that the total comes close to the Aussies and they both stuck it out as well as they could.

Laxman spreads the cheer
2008-01-03 09:04:00
The contest is back and VVS Laxman showed the way on how it has to be done yet again. What a marvelous innings it was and India is interestingly poised for tomorrow?s play. The situation is still tight for India and if early wickets fall once again in the morning session, then it is the ...

Hogg inspires Australian mauling
2008-01-02 09:56:00
Second test match of the series? and so far things don?t seem to be looking any different. Australia has posted a fabulous score of 376 in a single day at a run-rate of 4.2? now that?s some mauling. India bowled as well as they probably could in the initial session and picked up 6 wickets at ...

Australia thrash India
2007-12-29 08:52:00
There you have it… Australia jumped, kicked, stamped, mauled and raped India to a huge win. I woke up at 4 a.m looking forward to a possible contest or a fight. 1 hour was all that made me decide to let me catch some sleep. I wonder if this has to be the worst defeat ...

Day 3 ? Australia consolidates to strike India
2007-12-28 10:10:00
I couldn?t catch much of the match today and therefore keeping it short. Australia played as well as they possibly could on this pitch to post a steep total of 499 for the India ns to chase. Phil Jacques once again did well at the top and Clarke also chipped in with a fine fifty. Jacques ...

Day 2 - Australia eat Indian crumble pie
2007-12-27 11:20:00
The annoying fact of India?s growing inability in not wiping out the tail quickly ran on even today as Australia posted a very competitive first innings total of 343. The Robin Williams look-alike and possibly gay Stuart Clarke, entertained to lift Australia up to a strong position.

Day 1 - A promising match Folks!

What an interesting day of play! The first test match of the India-Australia series has shown signs of a competitive test series. Now this match really looks alive and kicking isn?t it? Not yet though! To start with, I was pleased to see Kumble go in with two spinners because somehow it made sense to play ...

2007-12-03 13:04:00
Sanath Jaya suriya has announced his retirement from test cricket and the current test match with England will be his last. World?s fastest bowler competition - 1979

Here is an interesting video I found, where Richie Benaud is the host for a competition to identify who was the fastest bowler in the world. Looking at it I can’t help wonder over the fact that the current breed of fast bowlers like Lee and Akhtar, who can hit 150 from the first ball ...

Dhoni acting in a movie
2007-11-27 21:25:00
Well almost! no joke, it is a commercial with Dhoni acting as the hero dancing (should I say almost dancing) with bollywood babes, dialogues and Sharukh Khan playing the role of a cricketer a.k.a dhoni… a role swap scenario between the two.
