Strength In Adversity?
2008-02-22 09:57:00 There are several types of football fans. The wannabe manager, the statistician, the severely optimistic, the completely opposite of that, and the ones almost slipping off the edge of their seat through uncontrollable tension, even when the score is 6-0 in favour of your side and you’re playing Derby at home. Arsenal ‘Till I Die
More articles from this author:2008-02-18 17:04:00 Well what a day. I got home and I decided to watch the match again as I had it on V+. I really just wanted to see it again to see how bad it was. What can I say? As a gooner I’ve had as many lows as I have had highs but this match I will never forget for this was the day I realised that a football club is not about the players or the manager or even the board members; its about us, the fans. We were 4-0 down and into injury time and I just could not help but feel proud to be one of those who stayed behind and sang our hearts out. Let me just say to all of you who were there with me, well done!!! This is what makes football and this is what makes a football club. Its the fact that we part with our hard earned money and give up our Saturday and don’t complain when the team comes out and plays like that. Instead we give them the support that they clearly did not deserve on this day. I appreciate that as I write this Arsenal are top of the league and still in the Champions L... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
