2007-12-05 09:12:00 sportsMalaysian sailors show class on first dayLANGKAWI March 3 - The Malaysian team led by Amir Zohri Rahim, navigating "Gotcha Lagi" took the lead in the Premier Cruising event of the BMW Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2004 on the first day of competitions here Wednesday. "The wind conditions were good and my position also helped the team to take the overall lead," said Amir after completing the race in 1 hour 53 minutes 27 seconds. Amir and five other sailors in the team would continue their challenge in Thursday's four remaining races to clinch any of the titles at stake. He said the new sails on his yacht, sponsored by Malaysia Airlines (MAS) played a key role in the race. Another sailor, Lieutenant Malik Sulaiman from the Royal Malaysian Navy, and navigating "KDP 1" was also in commanding form, taking second spot in the Sport Boats category.
