[Breaking News] Yao Out For The Season Due To Stress Fracture

Just when everything was clicking for the Rockets, all of a sudden, a tragic loss to the team.. Bad News for the Houston Rockets. They were on their quest to win 13th straight, but without Yao, I don't think they'll be able to pull off their 13th win. Yao averaged 22 and 10 plus boards.Everyone thought that Houston was going to win this season's playoffs by looking at the way they were going but with out Yao, that will be an awfully hard task to accomplish. They might not even get passed the first round of the playoffs.Furthermore, Yao will be out for the Post Season as well for next season. This will open opportunities for the role players like Scola, Landry, etc. to step up and show what they're worth and also gain vital experience that will help them succeed better for next season. I'm sorry to say but now the Rockets have no chance of even passing the second round of this season's playoffs.

Tracy McGrady recently stated that he needs to work extra hard to match up with his teammates skills and talent. He realizes that he is getting old and others are getting ahead which many say is the factor that caused him to sit out in this years NBA All-Star Game. But it can be debated that T-Mac does not need to put in extra effort in order for his team to succeed this season due to role players knocking down big shots, and Yao doing his thing each night. Besides Tracy McGrady's scoring average, the fans have to look at his assists column. He is currently averaging well above 8 assists per game and most them for Yao. Tracy McGrady is a veteran, he knows what he has to do win ball games, he knows when to shoot, when to pass, and when to take over the game. He's should have been an All-Star this season.On the other hand, the Rockets are on a roll on their 11th game winning streak. They look to make it 12 games tonight as they face the Chicago Bulls tonight on ESPN around 7 PM.

Jason Kidd, finally got traded from the Nets. Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson are old and have lost their explosiveness due to old age and injuries. Dirk is the happiest man alive right now in the NBA and I bet the rest of the Mavs players are as well because Kidd is a pass first player. Even if Kidd is open he would pass the ball up for a three or an impossible highlight dunk. Also, with Kidd playing alongside Dirk Nowitizki not only will Kidd's assists go up but also Dirk's shooting average because Jason Terry did not set up Dirk enough but instead he jacked up his own shots. What in the World is Mike Bibby Doing in the Hawks ?Before his injury, he averaged 13.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists....Kings should have kept him as he was doing very well playing alongside Martin and Garcia. They were hard to beat. Although, Bibby will do just fine and even better by raising his numbers in assists because the Hawks have some high flyers and players who can shoot the ball. He will bring veteran leadership and take the Hawks far in this season's playoffs. Nuff said.

The Superman Dunk which Dwight Howard came up with, is not offically a dunk. His hands do not touch the rim. Instead he jumps as high as he could and then throw the basketball in the basket with the impression of Superman throwing a rock. But not an offical dunk although it counted and he got the points for it. Watch closely. Dwight Howard brought back creativity in the dunk contest this year. All of his dunks were never seen before in the history of the NBA. It is nearly impossible to come up with a dunk you've invented, because basketball has been around for a long time and someone has already done the dunk you think you invented. On the other hand, Gerald Green invented the Birthday Cake Dunk The Birthday Cake Dunk which really should've been a 50 in this years dunk contest. The problem was that the judges didn't have a better view at the cup cake on the rim when he blew the candle out as he dunked...

Pau Gasol scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Nothing much else to say about the Lakers ...although there won't be any reason for Kobe to now take more than 20 shots per game. He's going to have to change up his game like T-Mac's and become more of a distributor or a role player some nights and the star in some. Lakers now have a very good chance of getting a championship this season, especially when Bynum comes back, the team will be the total package. Kobe is probably feeling happy for the first time since Shaq was traded...Kobe showed Gasol his love for his teammate by dishing out 8 assists and only scoring 6 points in the contest as the Lakers rolled over the New Jersey Nets. Despite scoring 81 against the Raptors last season I think this video below of Kobe scoring 46 on the Raptors is his best performance yet...Why? Compare the two videos, when he scored the 81 points, gaurds were leaving wide open with out even contesting his shot, in the recent video in which he scores 46 points, he makes more than half his shots, has about 10 dunks which is amazing because defenses were locked on him through out this game...3 of those dunks would have been "50"'s in the dunk contest. If I had to choose one of his best performances, I'd say all of them are but this one just seems off the charts to me because the Toronto Raptors played more than stellar defense but unfortunately Kobe was unstoppable that night. Mainly because of his confidence...I'm assuming he had that 81 points in mind from last season, and he was wondering if he could pull it off again. LeBron James scored 17 of his 37 in the fourth quarter and also hit the last second layup over the Blazers. LeBron also grabbed 14 rebounds along with 4 assists.Playing against the Portland Trail Blazers wasn't an easy task for the Cavs, well maybe for LeBron James but the rest of the Cleveland players scored no more than 9 points which is absolutely ridiculous. Larry Hughes and Z.Ilgauskas need to step up and help LeBron because they're playing very sluggish. Hughes and many other Cavs players just can't seem to find their touch in games. Nervous? Maybe. They might need to have a practice of all day shooting or something. Yao Sidelined for Jazz-Rockets with Respiratory InfectionScola and the bench warmers are going to need to step up and knock big baskets in order for them to win with out Yao.Yao was averaging 30 and 10+ points in the last seven games before he was sidelined. Allen Iverson says practice 30 times in a press conference. In case you are wondering what he's talking about.... HE'S TALKIN ABOUT PRACTICE!Just kidding. What happend was that his coaches and assistants didn't like Iverson's effort in practice when he was in the Sixers although he was a beast during a real game and played so often even with an injury.
