2008-04-17 12:34:00
Chelsea travel to Goodison Park this evening for a ridiculously scheduled league game which was shifted so it could be shown on the telly, knowing that they must win. United fans can sit back and relax, cheering on Everton for two reason. Firstly, to take points off Chelsea to leave us with the opportunity of ...

2008-04-16 14:18:00
Manchester United are set to take on Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Europe an Cup, which has mouth watering prospects for the viewers. Both clubs are advocates of the game, playing football as it should be played, but plenty of emphasis on attacking and skills. Angry Ronaldo: My Future Is With United
2008-04-16 11:22:00
Cristiano Ronaldo has been flying high this season, scoring almost a goal for every game he has played in. He has come along way from the skinny 18-year-old lad who joined us from Sporting Lisbon, and looks set to take a clean sweep of the individual awards this season. There was been plenty of talk of ...

Capello: Rooney Is Good At Everything And WILL Be Captain
2008-04-15 21:05:00
The talk concerning United’s future captain has been rife this season, with Gary Neville at times looking as though his career was over and Ryan Giggs, the vice-captain, not getting any younger. Rio Ferdinand is the obvious replacement, taking the armband whenever both these players aren’t on the field. However, Wayne Rooney got to have ...

Campbell: I Wouldn?t Forgive Myself For Leaving United
2008-04-15 12:38:00
At the start of the season, many United fans were concerned over our lack of firing power in the squad. Both Rossi and Alan Smith had been sold on and we?d still yet to buy a replacement for the goal machine, Ruud van Nistelrooy. We?d all seen enough of Dong to realize he wasn?t going ...

For Old Time?s Sake, eh Bruce?
2008-04-14 19:44:00
United extended their lead at the top of the table to six points yesterday evening, after coming back from a goal behind to beat Arsenal 2-1. With Chelsea playing Wigan tonight, we could certainly do with more breathing room than just the three points that it would become with a Chelsea victory. With a trip ...

Why Ronaldo Won?t Ever Be The Next David Beckham
2008-04-14 18:52:00
Every time the transfer window opens, United are linked to “the next *insert great player’s name here*“, with youngsters tipped to fill boots they probably never will come close to filling. Since David Beckham left United at the end of our Championship winning season in 2003, there have been several people hailed as “the next David ...

You Cheating F**kin Bastards
2008-04-13 21:46:00
After all the whinging that has resonated from the Emirates in the last week or so, over referees costing them their title bid and place in the European Cup, I am over the moon to see those twats have their season ended at Old Trafford today, despite their cheating ways. Adebayor’s goal was scored down at ...

Fergie Reveals His Summer Spending Plans
2008-04-13 15:15:00
Last season, United claimed the Premiership title despite not having the depth of squad Jose Mourinho had at Chelsea. Both teams suffered injury and United struggled particularly at the back, with injuries to the likes of Gary Neville and Nemanja Vidic. In the crucial Premiership victory against Everton at Goodison Park last season, United came ...

Fergie: Three Games Away From Champions
2008-04-13 14:58:00
Manchester United take on Arsenal this afternoon, knowing a victory strengthens our title bid and finishes Arsenal’s season. In contrast, a defeat would blow the title race wide open. Sir Alex Ferguson, who has been in this situation time and again in his trophy filled career with the club, is confident that the title will be ...

Worry For United - Arsenal Team Spirit High
2008-04-12 13:25:00
Manchester United take on their old title rivals Arsenal this Sunday, in a game which could, temporarily at least, give United a six point lead at the top and end Arsenal’s fading title hopes, or leave United in a precarious situation, awaiting Chelsea’s result against Wigan, with Arsenal closing the gap on us. With Arsenal fans ...

Another Arsenal Thrashing On The Cards?
2008-04-11 18:55:00
The Arsenal game was the highlight of our season for many years. The build up in the weeks preceding, with Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson battling it out in the press, only heightened the expectations. The games were usually high drama and the winner would usually have a crucial advantage in the title race. ...

Is United?s Player of the Season a Forgone Conclusion?
2008-04-11 16:04:00
Even fans with a venomously passionate anti-United stance would struggle to argue against Cristiano Ronaldo being hailed as the best player in the World right now, with the winger scoring an incredible 37 goals for United this season, plus a further 2 goals for Portugal in the 3 Euro qualifiers he’s played in. As the ...

Embarrassed Nev Thanks Fans
2008-04-10 20:33:00
With Gary Neville’s comeback date postponed time and again, whilst talk of his retirement was rife, I had a ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’ attitude to whether he would play for the first team again. As he approached the touchline last night, ready to be subbed on against Roma, I was made up. The ...

Henry Taunts United - You Won?t Be Able To Surprise Us
2008-04-10 12:24:00
Thierry Henry is a player who United fans will ever be fond of, due to his affiliations with our former title rivals. The Arsenal hero, who left the club in the summer just gone for Barcelona, has failed to make much of an impact on the Spanish giants, who booked their place in the semi-finals ...

Is Rio Vital To Our CL and League Success?
2008-04-08 19:02:00
The disappointing result against Middlesbrough was soon put to the back of our minds when news broke that Rio Ferdinand returned to the team bus with his foot in a protective case. In the age where metatarsal breaks are the new craze, the thought that Ferdinand could have broken his foot was pretty unbearable. Already ...

History To Repeat Itself? April 7th 2007
2008-04-07 19:45:00
It was just “one of those days”. Manchester United saw their six point lead at the top of the table cut to three after losing to Portsmouth on April 7th 2007. We had travelled to Roma for the European Cup quarter final midweek, Rooney scoring what was thought to be a crucial away goal, but ...

Respect The Ref? Explain This One Riley
2008-04-06 18:30:00
Middlesbrough committed 22 fouls today yet received 3 yellow cards. How does that add up? Good to see that Ferguson’s rant about the incompetency of Keith Hacket’s band of referees has been taken on board. Or not. Less than a minute played, Aliadiere fouls Evra. With two minutes played United won their second free kick after ...

Rafa Won’t Do Us Any Favours
2008-04-04 19:54:00
Had United been drawn an English side at this stage in the competition, I’d easily have been able to find the positives. There is a great familiarity with English teams, so if you have confidence in your manager getting the tactics right, then progression should be achievable. However, with United being drawn Roma in the quarter finals of the Champions League, a team we had already faced four times in the past year, we couldn’t have got a much better draw for familiarity. That said, Roma are the second best team in Italy currently, 4 points behind the league leaders, and 7 points ahead of Juve, 16 points ahead of AC Milan. Teams who will be incredibly familiar with each other by next week are Arsenal and Liverpool, who will have played each other 3 times in 6 days. The first game ended in a 1-1 draw at the Emirates, in the first stage of the quarter final draw in the Champions League. Tomorrow, they will play each other in the league, again at Arsenal’s ground. Fr...
Chelsea’s Chances Decline With Pantomime Dames In Charge
2008-04-04 18:40:00
“It’s just not fair,” seemed to be the biggest criticism a United fan could fling in to the face of a Chelsea fan on the attack, and it felt pitiful and weak. The press told us United were in decline whilst Chelsea were playing arguably the most efficient football the Premiership had ever seen. The opposition didn’t have a go at Chelsea, the same way they do against United, because it seemed a helpless task. This side were solid, capable of luring you in to a sense of false security, and then they’d pounce, score a goal or two, and it was game over. In the 2004-2005 season, they won an impressive 29 league games, but only on 17 occasions were they winning at half time. In fact, if the league was done on half time scores, Chelsea would have been some 8 points behind the leaders, not the 12 points in front that they finished. But that’s what made them so scary. They were so relaxed, so self composed, that they wouldn’t really turn it on until ...

Liverpool Fans Attack Neville
2008-04-01 16:50:00
“Gary Neville is a red, he hates scousers” goes the popular chant at Old Trafford. Whilst Neville is a legend at Old Trafford, he’s a hate figure at Anfield, something which no doubt makes the United skipper very proud. His brother, Phil, who could have had a long term career at United had Roy Keane left ...

Scholes: Ronnie Better Than Cantona, Keane, Beckham, Giggs?
2008-03-31 20:11:00
Paul Scholes is a modest man, a quiet man, who is not at all concerned with the celebrity that comes with being a Manchester United player. He practically had to be dragged from the changing room to give an interview after scoring against Liverpool in his 500th appearance for the club. He modestly played down ...

Is Grant Right About United?s Advantage Over Chelsea?
2008-03-31 16:59:00
Managers always seem to have a lot to say about the fixture list, particularly managers of the top four clubs. Generally speaking, these clubs are competing for the title, progressing in the latter stages of the cups, and the poor scheduling of the fixture list is something which adds great stress to the managers. ?Big Time Charlie? To United? You Having A Laugh??
2008-03-30 15:25:00
Paul Ince was a player I loved as a lad. I loved his cocky nature, I loved his ability, I loved how he played, I loved his strength in the tackle, and like most lads in Manchester, I imitated his goal celebration moves that he carried out with Ryan Giggs. He appeared to love the ...

Neville ALMOST Made Villa Start
2008-03-29 16:44:00
United fans would be forgiven for getting increasingly frustrated with the Neville injury business. He hasn’t played for our first team in over a year now, but this recent rehabilitation period has proven to be his most successful since the initial injury. He has featured for the Reserves several times in quick succession, managing 90 ...

Will Fletcher?s Injury Have An Effect On Our Season?
2008-03-29 15:40:00
Darren Fletcher has never been a player I have rated too highly. Had he not been billed as “the next David Beckham” then maybe we could have been more accepting from the young Scot. Had his place in the team always depended upon the injuries of others, then I’m sure he would have been welcomed ...

How John Terry Attempts To Belittle Rio For Captaincy?
2008-03-27 17:36:00
There has been a lot said about Fabio Capello’s decision to make Rio Ferdinand temporary captain of England in the press this week. Some questioned how appropriate it was to make Ferdinand captain when taking in to consideration his less than glowing past. Others recognised the change in Ferdinand and his commitment to being a ...

Can Ronaldo Really Be Compared To Best?
2008-03-27 15:20:00
“Maradona good, Pele better, George Best” say United fans, believing Best to be the greatest player ever to play the game. In 1968, when United were the first English team to be crowned Champions of Europe, George Best scooped the European Player of the Year award. His team mates Bobby Charlton and Denis Law had ...
