Fitness on the Run!
2007-03-02 00:11:01
Going for a run while away on a trip can seem downright impossible. Let's face it, business travelers often find it difficult to exercise while traveling, especially since workout gear takes up unnecessary space and can be a hassle to pack. Most often, even the best intentions result in clothing that's left idle, never making its way out of the suitcase. Puma's Train Away Kit is designed to pack into a compact bundle, and includes a jacket, t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers offering travelers an easier solution. The shirt and shorts are made of lightweight, breathable materials that wick sweat away from the body, and even more innovative is that their sneakers have a slot in the sole for a hotel key card! For runners traveling to a foreign city, Puma's Train Away Kit includes a promo code that can be used on Soundwalk.com. Runners can go to Soundwalk's site, and use their code to view maps and download mp3 running tours.

Super Gyms for the Super Rich: New York City
2007-03-02 00:11:01
Sure, there?s something to be said for style and affordability. But there are those times when only the best will do. As in luxury. As in service. As in private, but worth hocking your Tiffany diamond watch for. Here?s a handy guide to the hottest, most over-the-top gyms for the super rich. The right sum can buy the best of the best--from designer clothes to fancy homes. In this case, that also includes improved health and a sculpted body, which many agree is priceless. Call them hip. Call them ubercool. Big or small, just don't call them "gyms." The Madison Square Club: Clients spend about $20,000 per year for membership, and only six people are allowed on the floor per hour. The expensive attention isn't just for vanity's sake--meeting your fitness goals is especially important when your paycheck is dependent on your looks. Owner/celebrity trainer David Kirsch trains Heidi Klum. La Palestra: "We don't want to beat people over the head and drag them in, but they probably ar...

Ride 'Em Cowgirl

Innovative exercise routines are great - but I'm not so sure about the iGallop. The OSIM iGallop "is the revolutionary exerciser that can help you shape and tone your tummy, hips, seat and thighs". First released in Singapore and Hong king, the iGallop is the exercise device that sort of simulates riding on a horse, and let me put the emphasis on SORT OF!I'm not really sure what to say about this. Actually, I think that the original ad speaks for itself. You can grab the iGallop online for around $600.Or NOT.

Get in Shape with Traineo and LIFT
2007-02-25 12:08:01
Web site Train eo is a weight loss and fitness tracker designed to keep you motivated to achieve your fitness goals. I noticed a lot of Podfitness people on there, so I thought I'd check it out. Aside from the bevy of graphs and tables for tracking your exercise and diet habits, Traineo has a really interesting concept wherein you choose up to 4 motivators (friends, family, - whomever) to receive weekly progress reports from Traineo. I sort of love this idea, since I'm big on the notion that announcing your goals is a terrific motivator. Finally, Traineo has its own community features for sharing encouragement within the Traineo community. And, you can create your own groups... of which I did. This is a FREE service, so please join my group: LIFT.(Bare with me, as I just made the group... so it needs some help, but don't let that stop you from joining!) As a health club owner myself, I'm not often wowed by fitness web sites, but on first use, I'm really impressed with Traine...

2007-02-23 18:06:02
Stay in the loop! Whether you?re a retro buff or not, these babies have a handle on the past (they are basic) but are completely futuristic. They are all that is cool about cooking with a great streamlined design. No more burnt string, no more tussles with trussing. A silicone strapette, thefoodloop, is designed to be adjusted easily around any stuffed, rolled, bunched or wrapped veg, meat or fish dish. Can be reused and will endure extreme temperatures in the oven, pan, microwave or freezer (but not direct flames). And, if that's not cool enough they have a new line of products making other cooking tasks easier, faster and more pleasurable. Check out the poachpod!

Slimming Photos with HP Digital Cameras
2007-02-23 06:05:01
It?s shocking these days what maintaining your life actually entails. A weekly trip to the spray tan booth. A monthly venture to the dermatologist. And biweekly appointments with the psychotherapist. (Thanks, Mom.) Wouldn?t it be nice if you could skip working out, and just pretend to be thin? If you have a camera, now you can. No, wait. Not just any camera, but a new slimming camera. Yes, that's right... wait until you see what they've thought of now! Indeed the camera has gotten a makeover, and evidently it's because you can't! And when I tell you what it does you won't believe your ears or your eyes for that matter. One of the long-debated alleged absolutes in photography is the concept that photos don't lie. But fret not because HP has come to the rescue and now photos can lie. HP is offering cameras with a slimming feature in-camera that can change one's size. Seriously, what is this world coming to? Sadly, I know the answer and realize that more people will be r...

2007-02-23 00:04:02
Dude!Ummm, there?s something on your foot. That doesn't look so good. You might want to try cutting that off starting at the waist! The Australian gov?t will no longer be screwing around when they warn you about cigarette smoking (and I love them for that). These are 10x more horrifying than the any images we have here in the land of the free and the home of the completely deluded.

Aquatic Shoe Allows You To Run Under Water
2007-02-23 00:04:02
Running under water can be an important exercise for fitness training as well as recovery and rehabilitation because it puts less stress on the joints while offering increased resistance. AQx Sports has developed the AQx Aqua tic Training Shoe , specifically designed to make running under water feel more natural. According to AQx Sports, the shoe ?decreases the amount of pounding generally needed to enhance a runner?s performance(s), is an aid to recovery or an adjunct to normal training regimen, used as a method of rehabilitation from a running-related or musculoskeletal injury, enhances range of motion and proper mechanics of land-based running.? The most important differences of the aquatic shoe compared to normal running shoes are its fins ?for correct, subtle plane of motion resistance?, a sticky rubber sole for extra grip, as well as several drainage ports.

Couples Fitness
2007-02-21 18:01:12
In case you haven't seen enough couples fitness on the news, I thought this little gem might catch your eye!Sexual Fitness is not the typical spandex-heavy aerobics videotape; it?s more like a video you'll watch. Which is not to say that it won?t get you into shape. But three attractive couples demonstrate the ins and outs of keeping in top physical condition so your sexual encounters can be the very best possible. As shown, these erotic exercises can be done at home or in the pool (Ok, so that part sounds totally weird)Lucky for you: It comes in English, Spanish or with subtitles. You can find this video at Movies Unlimited. Category: After Dark (How Appropriate!) Now there?s something that Richard Simmons and Jane Fonda could never do in their wildest dreams. Diet Pills: Are They Worth The Risks?
2007-02-21 18:01:12
I am deeply saddened to hear about the sudden death of Anna Nicole Smith. And this post in no way states that her death was caused by diet pills or from her dramatic weight loss and weight gain over the past few years, however it is important to note that yo-yo dieting and the use of weight loss pills can (and do) put unnecessary strain on your body and in particular your heart. I encourage you to do more research before turning to weight loss pills. It is important to educate yourself on the benefits of a balanced diet and exercise program and to surround yourself with support so that you can achieve your weight loss goals in a healthier and more sustainable way. We live in a society where speed is demanded and the perception of beauty is dangerously skewed. Quick-fixes are our worst enemies, and the results they advertise blind us to the deadly risks they can cause. And, while diet pills may not have been the direct cause of her death, we can be sure that they played a part ...

Nutrtion Soda
2007-02-21 18:01:12
As you probably already know, the thing here that caught my eye was the packaging... only to find out that these drinks weren't just cute but they also contained nutrients like L-Arginine and other amino acids, CoQ10, vitamins, minerals and herbs to help your mind and body achieve balance & optimal performance. Sold! But the first question I had was "why Airforce?" Then, I learned the story about how once upon a time, a very smart man got fed up with getting sick on planes, and developed their first product, IMMUNE. The concept blossomed from there. What impresses me even more than the functional flavors (my favorite is SLENDER, which includes pink grapefruit and guava) is all the great work Airforce Nutrisoda is doing for the world at large. Airforce Nutrisoda may have their claim as "The Original Health Spa in a Can" ? but these drinks also taste so good with your favorite mixer, check out their mixology suggestions. Vintage T-Shirts: The Book
2007-02-21 18:01:12
It's winter break for most! But for those of you not spending the week lying on a beach or zipping down the slopes, I feel your pain. Let's think about something else. Clothing!Something we can all relate to. If you read this blog a lot, you probably know a little about me, but didn't know that I'm a big fan of great t-shirts. I would wear a t-shirt every day if left to my own devices. And, my husband Jim, he has a collection of over 100 tees that he'll never part with. T-shirts come in so many different shapes and sizes, designs and styles that they are appropriate for anything these days... including (as always) working out! And, what better way to work out in public than with a 'kick ass' t-shirt.And, if somehow you've lost your collection or your spouse got into (and emptied) your closet, Lisa Kidner and Sam Knee can take you on a road trip down nostalgia lane with their Vintage T-Shirt s book, it will remind you of what 'cool' is. The two authors focus on quite poss...

Music for your active ears - part 1
2007-02-21 18:01:12
I realize that there are probably products being introduced as I'm writing this but the MP3 player and iPod are still going through some changes so I'll tell you about a few products that take the evolution of this miniature musical creation even further. And if you're not the average athlete and you prefer to snowboard or surf rather than head to the gym, one of these babies might be just what you were looking for. Surfing and music have gone together for many years. From the Beach Boys to Jack Johnson to that infectious little tune Wipeout, the culture of surfing has always been influenced by music. Surfing was developed in Hawaii, although it is not known exactly when. Rumor has it that there were grand celebrations held with tribal music and, of course, surfing. Nowadays it seems a little silly to have a friend bang a bongo while you catch a wave, so thank God for technology. An Australian company, Billabong, has produced a layer of clothing that makes it possible to surf ...
