It's Raining in Indy
2007-05-27 21:06:00 It looks like it is going to be the second shortest Indy 500 in History as the rain has arrived just after halfway, making the race offical. Tony Kanaan looks like he is going to win his first Indianapolis 500 with Marco Andretti coming in second for the second straight year. The best and maybe only reason to watch the IRL, Danica Patrick is in third. Really I am not a huge Indy car fan. It is is not as exciting as Nascar. Nascar has the bumping and less room to make the passes where Indy there is all kinds of room to make the pass and a bump will put both cars out. But Danica Patrick is a hell of a reason to watch. Damn that is one fine woman. She looks great in both a racing suit and her photo spreads. But the real racing gets underway a bit after 6 tonight. Nascar takes to the Lowes Motor Speedway in the Coke-Cola 600 which is one of the the best races of the year. My pick is Denny Hamlin, but you have to think Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne will be near the top. Dale Jr is starti... More About: Raining
Car of Tommorrow No Longer
2007-03-25 18:50:00 In about an hour it will not be the Car of Tommorrow, but the Car of Today. Actually Nascar is still going to call it the Car of Tomorrow because they are not going to the COT full time till 2008. I don't know if anything will really change, I expect the top teams, Hendrix, Rousch-Fenway and RCR will still be the top teams, where the single one car teams like Robby Gordan Racing will still struggle. Also this week is the last week that the top 35 of 2006 will be in the race automatically. Starting next week the top 35 of this year will be locked in where the rest of the cars must race their way in. This won't be good news for Toyota, which is having problems making races. Also this won't help Paul Menard, who missed this weeks race, and will have no chance of being in the top 35. Kasey Kahne is 36th right now, so he must move up to 35th or better or have to race his way in.My pick for Bristol: The 07 of Clint Bowyer More About: Long , Morrow
Time To Go Dancing!
2007-03-07 05:10:00 The Niagara Purple Eagles are MAAC Champions and heading to the NCAA Tournament. Niagara has came a long ways since Joe Mihalich took over the program. But also on the verge of the NCAA Tournament is the Purple Eagles Hockey team, who is going into the CHA tournament as the number one seed. But this begs the question, why can Niagara have a great athletic department and Canisius, the other local college in the MAAC have such a mess of teams. While the Purple Eagles have became a men's basketball powerhouse in the MAAC, the Golden Griffens have became the doormat. The Griffs continue to be near the bottom of the conference standings and knocked out of the tournament in the first or second round. The hockey team is no better, maybe even worse. While the team keeps losing, they don't even have a rink to call home. While Niagara went out and started a hockey program from scratch, built a rink, and has became a powerhouse in their conference, and a team that knocks off some of the big ... Can You Last 8 Seconds?
2007-03-04 18:54:00 The World's Toughest Rodeo was in Buffalo last night with their Bulls and Broncs and Toughest Cowboy competition last night. This is the second year I have went, and I think this year was a bit better then last year. About 10,000 people (my guess at the attendance) were on hand to watch the championship of the World's Toughest Rodeo and see Bandy Murphy win the season title. Lots of sports look fun to participate in, like I would love to be able to drive a stock car around a Nascar track once, but Bull riding is does not look as fun. Those are some tough guys, all of them no matter what they are riding. I can't imagine trying to hang on a bull for eight seconds, getting throw off and then maybe getting stepped on by a 1,500 pound animal. Overall a fun night. If anyone is interested, the even will be on FSN June 3 at 9pm. The Toughest Rodeo season will start to be broadcast FSN April 8 at 9pm. More About: Last , Second , Econ , Seconds
My First Post
2007-03-03 21:19:00 Well this is my first post on this blog, so I would like to start by introducing myself. I am a huge fans of Buffalo sports teams, the Bills, Sabres, Bisons and Bandits. Other baseball teams I support are the Toronto Blue Jays and Batavia Muckdogs. Notre Dame football is always on my TV on Saturdays during the fall, and Sundays were made for watching Dale Jr and the rest of the DEI drivers win races on Sunday. I can't say I am a huge baseketball fan, I will watch the local college teams and attended a game hear and there, but other then that I don't watch basketball. As a Buffalo sports fan I hate the Miami Dolphins, Toronto Maple Leafs, ScrantonWilkes Barre Yankees (formerly the Red Barons) and the Phiadelphia Wings.I have been told I have way too many jerseys. I really don't believe it, because you can never have too many jerseys. I have 77 right now, in hockey, baseball, soccer, football and lacrosse. Yeah a few don't fit me anymore, but I would never get rid of them. But I ... More About: Post , First , First Post |
