Pakistan cricket board has retained Shoaib Malik for the next one year as a captain. Malik was appointed the captain of Pakistan cricket team in both test and ODI in April this year till December after the disastrous world cup. Malik succed Inzamam-ul-Haq as a test and ODI captain. While about vice-captain PCB has decided to choose series by series. Currently the vice captain is Younis Khan. In t20 world cup it was Salman Butt and before that it was Mohammad Asif.Malik has so far become a promishing captain and under his captaincy Pakistan team has recovered a lot. After the world cup Pakistan Played against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi. Pakistan won the 2 games out of 3 of the ODI series cliching the series. Then it had a superb t20 campaign where it was a finalist and almost a winner. Though the home test series aganist South Africa was dissaonting one day series was better though it was not in Pakistan's favour. Sachin Tendulkar seems to be getting nervous while batting because he got out again in 99. This is 5th time Tendulkar has been out in 90s this year and 3rd time he is out in 99 this year.He made 99 of 91 balls showing some great show of his batting with great shots. He got caught by wicket keeper Kamran Akmal in the bowling of Umar Gul. His inning of 99 included 14 fours and a six. At the stage he got out India became 179-2 in 25.4 overs.After loosing Ganguly in the first Over, India first struggled to get runs. Both Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir seemed to be in some problem. Shahid Afridi should bat up the order

Shahid Afridi is really a power hitter and he can just change the schenairo of the game in seconds. Such a batsman needs a proper place to bat. When Afridi bats at no. 6 or 7 there are not enough chances for him to play and it sometimes even doesn't suit the way he plays. It is not suitable in neither first inning nor second inning to bat down the order for Shahid Afridi.Talking about first inning, when Pakistan needs a solid quick start, some openers play so late creating pressure even to the batsman below them. If Afridi plays in this place he can hit freely and take the run rate flying. Even if he doesn't get chance to bat as a opener, he shouldn't be placed below no.5. At no. 3, 4 or 5, teams generally reaches the middle of the innings. A much awaited 5-match ODI series is just going to start with the first ODI against India and Pakistan in Guwahati on November 5. Younis Kahn has tried bowling a lot of times. In a test match against New Zealand, he was smashed for 28 runs in an over by Craig McCullum. Misbah-ul-Haq- Is he just a twenty20 specialist?

Misbah-ul-Haq was unbelievable in the ICC world twenty20 2007. The way Misbah played in two matches against India and also agaisnt Australia were superb. Though Pakistan couldn't win the final of ICC world twenty20 the way Misbah took the team in the verge of winning was mind-blowing.But is Misbah-ul-Haq limited to this much only? He was selected for the test and ODI series against South Africa but couldn't even show satisfactory cricket. His ODI average is just 30 and that in test is 17 even worse. His performance agaisnt South Africa was very poor and if this happens against India too he cannot remain in the team just because of his performance in world. twenty20.Come on Misbah, do it again. Prove that your performance in world twenty20 was not just by luck or something like that. Misbah is selected in the ODI series agaiant India starting form 5th November. There is needs to prove he is not just a t20 specialist.

Shoaib Akhtar completed his 13-matches ban and played against South Africa in the deciding ODI of the series. Though Pakistan lost the match and the series, the good news for Pakistani cricket fans is Shoaib Akhtar is back in action. Shoaib took 4 wickets giving just 43 runs in 9 overs and didn't only proved that he is fit but also proved to be one of the best bowlers in present time. bewareAkhtar removed South African captain Graeme Smith in the 3rd ball of the inning making him bowled.
