After a home test series win against Pakistan after years, India has selected the team for the upcoming test series against Australia . In the 16-man squad, most of the players are unchanged from the test series against Pakistan. Virender Sehwag has been called back into the test team as Gautam Gambhir had to rest for 3 weeks. Misbah-ul-haq gets another century to rescue Pakistan

The fifty at third day of the third test against India was not enough for Misbah. Misbah extended it to another century in his name and made his score 133 not out. Its the consecutive century for him in two innings as he had scored 163* in second test. In his 133* of 322 balls, Misbah played quite sensible and quiet cricket to defend another loss. After a 244 runs partnership with Kamran Akmal, Misbah managed to get 88 runs partnership with the debutant Yasir Arafat.What a comeback this has been for Misbah-ul-Haq and what a series. After his comeback in tests Misbah-ul-Haq has scored 514 runs at an average of about 85. His average of of 17 in tests before the comeback has changed to 42. Misbah-ul-Haq is just not just a batsman but a wonder who leaves behind a lot of unanswered questions behind him. First twenty20, then ODI against India and now in test series he is scoring and scoring continuously. How can a batsman at the age of 33 do such things. Seems to be so fit and so classy, hope he was at the age of 16 instead of 33.After scoring one half century and a 45 in first test, century of 161* in second, Misbah got another half-century in the third test at Bangalore. What a series this has been for Sourav Ganguly . Ganguly got his first ever century in home ground in tests at Kolkata last test and in the next match at Bangalore. Ganguly gets his best ever total in test cricket. Ganguly seems to be unstoppable though he is at the end of his career. Sourav Ganguly made superb double hundred and got out on 239 to get his highest score in career. Ganguly took just 361 balls for this and hit 30 fours and 2 classy sixes. After a tremendously successful world twenty20 and great success in ODI, Misbah-ul-Haq has shown his superb batting in test match too. Misbah saved the Pakistan i inning from a huge disaster in the first inning taking the score to a respectable 240. Misbah played a marathon inning making really hard working 80 runs from 243 balls hitting 6 fours and a six. His partnership of about 90 for the 9th wicket with Mohammad Sami was the real savior of the Pakistan inning otherwise it could have been all out for less than 150.This is not the first year Misbah-ul-Haq is playing test matches . Though Pakistan struggled a lot in the first day of the first test of the series, a hero seemed to be rising again for Pakistan. The person who who was dropped from Pakistani team about one and half year ago and being selected because of the superb domestic series. The player is the fast bowler- Mohammad Sami .Pakistan were struggling at 140-8 when Mohammad Sami came to the crease. They were in a danger of not reaching a total of 150. Then this man along with Misbah-ul-Haq helped the team to be rescued somewhat. Sami played an inning of 20 of 77 balls and looked to have gained a lot confidence. After a superb twenty20, Sohail Tanvir was not so brilliant in the ODI series against South Africa. It was his first ODI and everybody thought he is capable of bolwing only small spells of 4 overs as in twety20. Probably, due to this he was not chosen in test series. Misbah-ul-Haq was brilliant throughout the world twenty20. His matches against Australia and India were the best. But the same form could not last in test and ODI matches against South Africa. People started thinking if he is just a t20 specialist. But the last match played by Misbah has proved that he is equally important in ODI. Under pressure, Misbah played a superb match-saving inning of 49 and the partnership with Younis Khan was superb.Pakistan were in a verge of loosing the match requiring about 10 runs per over- the same as in the t20 world cu final. The Green Park stadium of Kanpur, when a cricket lover remembers it, he remembers the 45-ball century by Shahid Afridi. In the second inning, Pakistan had to chase a target of about 250 against India . Shahid Afridi came along with Salman Butt as an opener. BCCI has appointed the 37-year old Anil Kumble as the new India n test captain for the coming three match test series against Pakistan. Kumble has already retired from ODI cricket and has played 118 test matches. There are very few cricketers who has become captain of a team after playing so many matches. Also, India is having separate captains in ODI and tests for the first time.Kumble has taken 566 wickets in tests in 118 matches. Kumble is currently the third highest wicket-taker in test cricket. Pakistan cricket board has retained Shoaib Malik for the next one year as a captain. Malik was appointed the captain of Pakistan cricket team in both test and ODI in April this year till December after the disastrous world cup. Malik succed Inzamam-ul-Haq as a test and ODI captain. Sachin Tendulkar seems to be getting nervous while batting because he got out again in 99. This is 5th time Tendulkar has been out in 90s this year and 3rd time he is out in 99 this year.He made 99 of 91 balls showing some great show of his batting with great shots. He got caught by wicket keeper Kamran Akmal in the bowling of Umar Gul. His inning of 99 included 14 fours and a six. Shahid Afridi is really a power hitter and he can just change the schenairo of the game in seconds. Such a batsman needs a proper place to bat. When Afridi bats at no. 6 or 7 there are not enough chances for him to play and it sometimes even doesn't suit the way he plays. It is not suitable in neither first inning nor second inning to bat down the order for Shahid Afridi.Talking about first inning, when Pakistan needs a solid quick start, some openers play so late creating pressure even to the batsman below them. If Afridi plays in this place he can hit freely and take the run rate flying. Even if he doesn't get chance to bat as a opener, he shouldn't be placed below no.5. At no. 3, 4 or 5, teams generally reaches the middle of the innings. Anyone must be saying what a lucky haircut? Mahendra Singh Dhoni played the first ODI against Pakistan after cutting his hair and the India n capatain got declared as man of the match. The way Dhoni batted in the game was fabolous as he scored 63 runs of 77 balls including 8 fours.India had got a good start with Sourav Ganguly and Gautam Gambhir after loosing Sachin Tendulkar. The moment Dhoni came India were 113-3. Still Pakistan had a lot of chances with some really brilliant bowlers. But Dhoni just won the match for India with a fine inning and a fine partnership with Yuvraj Singh. A partnership of 105 came between India's captain and vice-captain and this all but sealed the deal. Dhoni was in a mood of smashing the ball and he did middled many of the balls with the bat scoring brilliantly.
