Dhoni, who is currently leading the Twenty20 team in South Africa, has been appointed as the captain of the ODI team for the upcoming One-Day series’ against Australia and Pakistan. Shahid Afridi is not getting chances to bat up the order and to show his destructive batting performance in the world twenty20 2007. But he has turned himself to be the key bowler not only in Pakistani side but also among all the teams. He has taken 10 wickets in this twenty-twenty world cup to be the highest wicket-taker along with Daniel Vettori of New Zealand.Afridi doesn't get great spin of the ball but his change in pace and clever bowling has helped him a lot in this series. A very fast and intresting form of cricket - twenty20 or t20 is developed and has been recognized in international level. The first twenty20 cricket world cup is going to be held on 11th September, 2007 in South Africa. Though it is somewhat similar to ODI and test cricket, it has got new rules too. Twenty -twenty cricket has new rules regarding not only overs to play but also regarding no-balls, fielding restrictions, tie-breaker and others. Shoaib Akhtar has recently stated that the real one with him his conflict was is Shahid Afridi who had used foul languages against him. He too added that Afridi had said bad things about his family members which was untolerable for him. Akhtar also said that he regards Asif as his brother and it was by mistake he hit him.Shoaib Akhtar regarded that the issue was strengthed by media and he was considered the real villian and told that Asif had forbidden him after which it should have been ended. He also said that he cannot forgive himself if his team looses in the twenty20 world cup due to bowling problems.So, its again Afridi who is in controversies. Mahendra Singh Dhoni , the Indian wicket keeper couldn't achieve a great feat in batting in recent matches but he has shown a great wicket-keeping talent to make a new wicket-keeping record in ODI. After his emission from the twenty20 world cup from South African team, South African all-rounder Andrew Hall has surprisingly retired from world cricket. He certainly seems to be in a great form these days with the ball and to emit him from the twenty20 world cup was certainly not a wise decision. It seems he is going to join the Indian cricket League (ICL).Andrew Hall has played 21 tests and 88 ODI's for South Africa. He made his debut in 1999 and is currently 32 years old. Like the rest of South Africa's centrally contracted players, Hall is signed up until the end of April. There can be little doubt that Hall is lining up the ICL as his next employer. A Nightmare for Romesh Powar in the field

After dropping a catch in the last match, Romesh Powar made no improvements in the field in the 4th ODI against England. Though he is somewhat young, he seemed to be very lazy in the field when we watch his boring field display. He gave away about 10 runs in gift to the English team in the match.It was quite funny sometimes watching him leaving simple ball for four. He once tried one handed, once with the foot and once dived but was unsuccessful all the time. It seems Romesh Powar needs to improve his fitness and the level of his fielding. Rahul Dravid has played a superb knock of 92 not out of just 63 balls agianst England in second ODI including 11 fours and 1 six. Its really difficult to believe that the man who deals on singles got 93 with a strike rate of 150. When I remember Dravid, I remember him as a very defensive cricketer, hitting no boundries and playing boring cricket but his game really changed my mind. Well done Rahul Dravid.

For upcoming 20-20 world cup, Pakistani team was selected on 7th August,2007 with two great names Abdul Razzaq and Mohammad Yousuf missing. Seeing the success of English bowlers in recent times, the English Cricket board has icreased the contract of bowling coach Donald till the end of September.now remain working with Kevin Shine for both series against India as well as the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in South Africa. The English captain Paul Collingwood and other players have given all credits to Donald for improving the performance of bowlers. Steve Hamrmison seemed to have the most benefits. Ryan Sidebottom to showed a great performance in Donald's coaching. The recent ODI against West Indies showed the real influence of Donald's coaching. Hope that his coaching can further increse the standard of English fast bolwers and England will not need to rely just on Pietersen and other batsmen.
