Should Michael Vaughan still play in ODI and be the captain
2007-04-15 02:55:00 The English team is now struggling to reach the semi-finals. After the defeat of South Africa by New Zealand, it would be somehow easier but they need to defeat South Africa which is a great challenge. England has lost against New Zealand, Australia and Sri Lanka. The main cause for these defeats seems to be Michael Vaughan .Michael Vaughan is not a good ODI player. It is said by his performance. He has not scored any century till now and seems that he cannot play confident cricket in ODI. He just seems to struggle to get runs. He cannot free his arms and hit a shot. He is a good performer in tests but not in ODI.England have thrown Trescothick out of the team and have dropped Andrew Strauss in some world cup matches due to bad form. What about Vaughan? Andrew Strauss and Trescothick should be given another chance. In rest of the world cup matches, it is better for England to drop Vaughan and play Strauss as the opener along with Ed Joyce. Who can be next Pakistani captain after Younis Khan’s refuse?
2007-04-14 04:10:00 The vice-captain of Pakistan i team, Younis Khan refused to be the captain of Pakistani team and said that he may retire from ODI and play only for test. He told that after the misbehave of the Pakistani fans and the former players, he is embarrassed and is not interested in captaining the team. He told that it wasn’t a good behave from the fans, they should have realized that playing for the team is difficult and sometimes they may face loss too.I think that Younis Khan has done a good decision by leaving ODI because he is not suited for that type of game. He has got an average of about 33 in ODI whereas his average is about 47 in tests. Why is he forced to be the captain of Pakistani team when there are players better than him who can really captain the side well? There are a number of experienced player who play better cricket than him. He is over thirty doesn’t mean that he is more capable. Pakistani team should make someone younger like Smith in South Africa.Who can be Pakis... More About: Next
Will Shaun Tait and Brett Lee play together?
2007-04-14 04:08:00 After the injury of Brett Lee and missing of the world cup, Shaun Tait got the chance to show his talent in the World cup. There was no other fast bowler in Australia to bowl at 90 miles per hour besides Lee and Tait. Brett Lee showed has already proved himself and has disappointed much of them with his high pace. Tait also came in light when he bowled at 160 km per hour and nearly broke the record of Shoaib Akthar’s 161 km per hour. He has shown a great performance with the ball in the world cup. After the world cup Lee will be fit. Australia has Nathan Bracken as their next fast bowler. As McGrath is retiring after the world cup, it is obvious that Tait would play. Then the Australian side would start with two pace bowlers and the opposing batsmen should face the bowling 90 miles per hour from both side. In the absence of McGrath, Australians can use Tait as well as Stuart Clarke and Johnson. More About: Play , Together , Will
Great performance in the world cup by left arm Spinners
2007-04-13 07:13:00 Left arm spinners have become successful in taking wickets in this world cup. Before the world cup it was found that West Indian pitches have become slower these days. In 1980’s those pitches which were very fast in Caribbean and suited fast bowlers have are suited for Slow bowlers and spinners. This fact has been proved by this world cup.Though there are very few left arm spinners in world cup playing nations, they are successful in taking more and more wickets. This includes spinners like Australian spinner Brad Hogg, Kiwi bowler Daniel Vettori, Bangladeshi Bowlers Abdur Razzak and Mohaqmmad Rafique and English spinner Monty Panesar.1) Daniel Vettori : The New Zealand vice captain and left arm spinner Daniel Vettori has taken 14 wickets in this world cup and is the second leading wicket taker. He played a significant role in most of the New Zealand wins including match against West Indies, Ireland and others. He has become the key bowler for his team.2) Bradd Hogg : Along with ... What other teams can learn from Bangladesh
2007-04-12 15:22:00 After the great failure of the Indian team and success of Bangladesh i team, it seems that Bangladesh have raised a lot of standard. For the success, Bangladesh has made a lot of changes in the world cup team. The Bangladeshi team which was playing a year before seems to be completely different from this team. After the success the tag of minnow over Bangladesh needs to be taken out.The success of Bangladeshi team has given all the cricketing nations different lessons. Other team especially India should learn one thing from the Bangladeshi players and it is:1) Give more chances to youngsters: The Bangladeshi team at present seems to be more an under 19 team rather than a national side going through the age. But the game is world class. The players Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqar Rahim who all scored half centuries against India were under 19. Their key bowlers Mashrafe Mortaza and Abdur Razzaq are about 20-22 years old. Only Habibul Bashar and Mahammad Rafique are mor... More About: Teams , What , Hat

2007-04-12 10:51:00 The Australian batsman and the second leading run scorer of the cricket world cup 2007, Matt hew Hayden has joined the growing list of critics saying that the 7 week tournament is too long. In the super eight 24 matches are being played for about 3 and half week. Hayden added that the minnow sides at the present are putting up an outstanding performance and they should be rewarded for that. He was supported by the poll taken by baggygreen.com.au having 57.2% saying that the world cup is too long.Matthew Hayden has also complained about the Sir Vivian Richards stadium of Antigua saying that they were unable to use bowling machines because there was no electricity. He said that he knew he was quite pedantic saying that but the ground is not suitable for this type of tournaments. Australia are presently at the second place with 8 points of 4 games winning all and now play against weak Ireland on Friday at Barbados. They are just below New Zealand because of Net run rate. 2007-03-31 19:34:00 Playing against his native team and known players, the English in-form opener Ed Joyce could manage to score 1 run. He misread the ball from Irish bowler, Rankin and tried to leave the ball as a result of which he got bowled by the bowler. Before playing for England, Joyce had played his ODI for Ireland and had played a significant role in qualifying Ireland for world cup.Earlier before the match, Joyce had told that he knew 11 or 12 of the Irish guys. He also told that he had told his team some tips regarding the Irish players and their strategies and way of playing. After the win against Pakistan, Ireland had qualified for the round of 8 and played the first match against England. England had some benefits as the former Irish player was in their team. But it seems that Joyce’s tips didn’t work for major players of the team as it lost 3 early wickets. But thanks to English batsman Paul Collingwood who made an impressive 90 runs and also to Kevin Pietersen who contributed 48 in o... More About: Team , Again , Land , Elan

For Lara Akram has been the best bowler he has faced in his 15-16 years career. He said that Akram has the ability to swing the both ways. But Lara also told McGrath is an outstanding bowler and deserves to be up there.McGrath’s 3-31 helped Aussies to win the match against West Indies by 103 runs. The pressure on the players due to expectation of fans was cause of India
2007-03-27 18:45:00 The chairman of cricket control board of India , Sharad Pawar didn’t blamed the players but has blamed the crazy Indian fans for India’s defeat in the cricket world cup 2007. He said that the players had a lot of pressure to win the world cup on them due to the expectations of the fans. The players couldn’t handle it and due to this they couldn’t play well.India is out of the world cup from the first round after the defeat against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and is returning to home today. By saying this, Pawar might be trying to save him as well as the players. All the players of other country too have pressure to win. Other country’s cricket fans also have high expectations from the players. Then why only India couldn’t handle the pressure. Similarly, in 2003 cricket world cup also the Indian team had a lot of pressure but became second. Then why only this time they cannot handle the pressure? It seems that this type of saying is just an excuse to run from reality. In reali... More About: Players , Fans , Press , Play
