Misbah-ul-haq gets another century to rescue Pakistan

The fifty at third day of the third test against India was not enough for Misbah. Misbah extended it to another century in his name and made his score 133 not out. Its the consecutive century for him in two innings as he had scored 163* in second test. In his 133* of 322 balls, Misbah played quite sensible and quiet cricket to defend another loss. After a 244 runs partnership with Kamran Akmal, Misbah managed to get 88 runs partnership with the debutant Yasir Arafat.What a comeback this has been for Misbah-ul-Haq and what a series. After his comeback in tests Misbah-ul-Haq has scored 514 runs at an average of about 85. His average of of 17 in tests before the comeback has changed to 42. Seems to be so fit and so classy, hope he was at the age of 16 instead of 33.After scoring one half century and a 45 in first test, century of 161* in second, Misbah got another half-century in the third test at Bangalore. What a series this has been for Sourav Ganguly . Ganguly got his first ever century in home ground in tests at Kolkata last test and in the next match at Bangalore. Ganguly gets his best ever total in test cricket. Ganguly seems to be unstoppable though he is at the end of his career. After a tremendously successful world twenty20 and great success in ODI, Misbah-ul-Haq has shown his superb batting in test match too. Misbah saved the Pakistan i inning from a huge disaster in the first inning taking the score to a respectable 240. Misbah played a marathon inning making really hard working 80 runs from 243 balls hitting 6 fours and a six. His partnership of about 90 for the 9th wicket with Mohammad Sami was the real savior of the Pakistan inning otherwise it could have been all out for less than 150.This is not the first year Misbah-ul-Haq is playing test matches . Though Pakistan struggled a lot in the first day of the first test of the series, a hero seemed to be rising again for Pakistan. The person who who was dropped from Pakistani team about one and half year ago and being selected because of the superb domestic series. The player is the fast bowler- Mohammad Sami .Pakistan were struggling at 140-8 when Mohammad Sami came to the crease. They were in a danger of not reaching a total of 150. Then this man along with Misbah-ul-Haq helped the team to be rescued somewhat. Sami played an inning of 20 of 77 balls and looked to have gained a lot confidence. The glorious drive in Harbajan's ball and a straight six later showed him better than the other Pakistani specialist batsmen who fell cheaply earlier.The second day is still to happen and a lot depends on this man. Sachin tendulkar missed another chance to get a century being out at 97 in 4th ODI against Pakistan . He got bowled by Umar Gul, the same bolwer he bowled him at 99 in the 2nd ODI. Sachin has now fallen 6 times this year on 90's, 3 times on 99. Though Sachin Tendulkar couldn't get a century, he played brilliant cricket and helped india clinch the ODI series 3-1 still having 1 match to go. Misbah-ul-Haq was brilliant throughout the world twenty20. His matches against Australia and India were the best. But the same form could not last in test and ODI matches against South Africa. People started thinking if he is just a t20 specialist. But the last match played by Misbah has proved that he is equally important in ODI. BCCI has appointed the 37-year old Anil Kumble as the new India n test captain for the coming three match test series against Pakistan. Kumble has already retired from ODI cricket and has played 118 test matches. There are very few cricketers who has become captain of a team after playing so many matches. Also, India is having separate captains in ODI and tests for the first time.Kumble has taken 566 wickets in tests in 118 matches. Kumble is currently the third highest wicket-taker in test cricket. The other candidates for the list of test captain were Mahendra Singh Dhoni , VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar.
