A         ;      According to Espn , Future  owner of NY Yankees Steve Swindal is apprarently  out .  George Steinbrenner’s daughter Jennifer, filed for divorce from her husband, Steve Swindal, in the family law division of Hillsborough County Circuit Court on Tuesday. Swindal was arrested last month on suspicion of driving under the influence, and the divorce would end any chance he had of succeeding Steinbrenner in running the Yankees, as Steinbrenner had said he would do in June 2005. Jennifer Swindal filed the papers Tuesday in Hillsborough County Circuit Court’s family law department, Yankees spokesman Howard Rubenstein said Wednesday. Update on Rock et  - No rush on roger In her Kat O’ Brien of Newsday says Don’t expect Roger Clemens to rush to the Yankees’ rescue. Clemens said earlier this month he won’t decide whether or not to pitch this year until May. In an email this evening, Clemens’s agent, Randy Hendricks reiterated that: "Our time frame will not change. It is the entire point of shortening the season." I guess Ross  Ohlendorf or Steven White could be viable options until Yankees Rocket returns. What are your thoughts?

Update on Wang ’s Condi tion In Lohud’s Blog, Peter Abraham said Wang’s is making miracle recovery For a guy supposedly out until late April, Chien-Ming Wang looked pretty healthy this morning. The Wanger was out on the field at 9:07 a.m. and played catch with Ron Guidry for 13 minutes. He made 70 throws, most from a distance of 120 feet. And he was throwing from a semi windup and putting some zip on the ball. “I don’t feel anything,” said Wang, who has a slight tear in his right hamstring. “Yesterday I felt it when I walked. Today, nothing.” Brian Cashman said the team will be cautious and place Wang on the DL to start the season. But that can be backdated into spring training, so Wang could back earlier than initially expected This is a good news , I expect Yankees being careful and cautious with him, since He’s ace of Yankees.

 Ny Post ,Kevin Kernan says Yankees must sign  Clemens than The Redsox. The recent injuries with Wang’s and Andy’s back spasms.   "There is no time to waste. Circumstances dictate immediate action. The Yankees need to play their best hand and get Roger Clemens back in Pinstripes. All the plans, all the moves are meaningless without an ace. As Cashman walked off the field after batting practice, I asked him if he has had any recent contact with Clemens’ agents in light of the Wang injury and Andy Pettitte’s troublesome back. "They know we’re interested," Cashman said. Clemens not only is the Yankees’ best option, he is their only option. Pavano a possible Open er Day starter? In Her Blog, Kat O’brien of Newsday says There’s possiblity Pavano’s opening day starter? What do you guys think? There is a real possibility Carl Pavano might be the Opening Day starter for the Yankees. Joe Torre basically ruled out the possibility of Mike Mussina making that start, as he started today and would have to pitch one time on short rest. He also ruled out Andy Pettitte, as Pettitte has been out since Monday with back spasms and won’t be ready to start until Thursday or Friday. Kei Igawa is highly unlikely to make his first major league start on Opening Day, and that leaves only Pavano or Jeff Karstens, who was not even going to make the rotation until Chien-Ming Wang got hurt. I’m hoping   Rocket  should be The   opening day starter  rather than Pavano.

  -9:30 am -  I just heard a news from Sweeney Murti from Wfan about Wang and He said Wang is out at least three weeks and He will be on the DL at the beginning of season.They said that injury is kind of serious.   -10.30 am - Kat O’Brien  Newsday  blog,  She confirms Wang’s is headed to the Dl. Chien-Ming Wang is headed to the disabled list with a Grade 1 hamstring pull (the least severe grade). Terrible news for the Yankees, for whom he was perhaps going to be the Opening Day starter. The target date for him to return is late April. Wang said, "I’m very, very sad. I hope it will get better and I can go back to New York." In  Her Blog, Kat O’Brien of Newsday Wang’s suffered a cramp. Rotation fragile — Wang down with cramp Anyone need a reminder how fragile a starting rotation can be? Probably not, but Chien-Ming Wang was shut down for today after he "felt something" in his right hamstring while running this morning. They’re saying a cramp, though it could be a hamstring strain. That’s not good news, when Andy Pettitte has been out for several days due to back spasms. Although Joe Torre had not yet named an Opening Day starter, evidence seemed to be leaning towards Wang. Now we’ll see. Wang is not being sent for any tests, so they must not think it’s too bad. If people had been told at the start of spring training that two starting pitchers would have health problems in the final two weeks of the spring, everyone would have predicted Pavano would be one. Sean Henn continue to impress Joe and Yankees coaches .Sean Henn came in with a runner on first and two outs in the fifth and got Jason Bay to pop to second. He stayed in the game and retired the side in order in the sixth. In six appearances this spring, Henn has thrown six hitless innings with two walks and four strikeouts. I think Henn should make 25 man roster. Good Bye Villone, Hello to Henn. Hideki Matsui had an RBI single in the fourth, while Bronson Sardinha had a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to bring New York within one run. The Yankees had two men on base in the ninth but were unable to score and tying run across the plate. Colter Bean took the loss after allowing two runs in a three-hit seventh inning. Colter Bean = AAAA pitcher at best…. Yankees should release him.

But it’s what it is. Last year we certainly didn’t see the velocity until we got into the season. He is the same guy we see here this spring. Which means we have to make a decision.” Torre said he has been impressed with LHP Sean Henn, who is far more effective as a reliever than he was as a starter. “He’s much improved, he seems much more relaxed. Yes, it is a blog, but I have known the author for some time and can vouch for the authenticity of his sources.   Tough Day for both Miguel Cairo and Chris Britton.   Miguel Cairo did  a horrible job in LF today, He had error that a  ball bounce off his glove that was called a double. Then he caught a pop up and threw wildly trying to double a runner off first. Cairo also popped to short in his first at-bat. Why Would Joe torre play and put Cairo in Left field when He can’t play that position very well?  Iguess this is Torre’s answer to not having Bernie as a 5th outfielder? I don’t want to see Cairo in the OF during the regular season unless it is an absolute emergency, and hopefully, we have a 20-run lead when it happens.It’s Cairo and Britton Fault. And that’s why the O’s were willing to do that swap with Yankees ..Basically Britton’s batting practice. They want to make sure he understands that as well. The NyDailyNews, Antony  McCarron writes  that Abreu could play Thursday .Bobby Abreu took batting practice on the field yesterday for the first time since straining his right oblique and, after a wary first few swings, completed the workout with no problems, giving him two consecutive days of painless hitting. "He even had a couple semi-check swings," Joe Torre said. "He had a full session and he didn’t look like he was favoring (the injury). Once he felt comfortable, he was fine." The Yankees are hoping Abreu can return to game action Thursday or perhaps earlier, which would give him roughly 10 days of spring games. But Torre doesn’t plan to rush things with the 33-year-old outfielder. "You’re going to go slow even during the season," Torre added. In the NYPost, George King writes that Abreu’s aiming for Open er. "I tried to push it more and it was fine," Abreu said after taking live BP indoors at Legends Field yesterday. "I feel great, I didn’t hurt at all and that makes me feel good." Asked if he would be ready to play right field by Opening Day, Abreu said, "I have two weeks and I’m on track right now."
