Kansas State running back James Johnson was one of three players to sign on Friday . The Wildcats' senior signed a pair of index cards in just 10 days after running for more than 1100 yards and a dozen touchdowns this fall.Also signing was Rice quarterback Chase Clement, who sent back a pair of signed index cards and a questionnaire in 10 days as well. The junior passed for nearly 3400 yards and 29 touchdowns while also running for more than 500 yards and 8 more scores.Rounding out the day was high school baseball star L.J. Brewer was the 14th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft after averaging over 18 points per game with on campus at UA, and he is now in the starting lineup for the Jazz in this just his second NBA season.Also signing was current North Dakota State hoops star Ben Woodside. It was a long, hard process but one of my favorite successes ever arrived in the mailbox today. Florida head coaches Urban Meyer and Billy Donovan each signed a "We beat the Buckeyes" picture I designed last spring, detailing the school's national championship wins over Ohio State in both football and basketball last season.Also signing were a pair of college football players, including Navy's Adam Ballard. The Midshipmen running back rumbled for over 600 yards and five touchdowns this season while leading the squad to an 8-4 record. That request was sent via the Navy athletic department and took just 15 days.New Hampshire quarterback Ricky Santos also signed a pair of index cards. That request, sent care of the UNH athletic department back in the summer, took 131 days. Santos threw for nearly 3000 yards and 24 touchdowns for the Wildcats, completing more than 73% of his passes on the campaign.And finally, Navy head coach Paul Johnson, who just today announced his intentions ...

The 2007 college football regular season began with one of the biggest upsets in the sport's history, as Appalachian State went into Michigan and knocked off the then-top five ranked Wolverines. Four of those players - QB Armanti Edwards, RB Kevin Richardson, K Julian Rauch, and WR Dexter Jackson - along with head coach Jerry Moore signed a pair of 8x10 photos I designed. That request, sent care of ASU, took 53 days.Also signing was Villanova forward Dante Cunningham. The junior signed a pair of index cards care of the athletic department in just 14 days. Cunningham is averaging over 10 points per game while leading the Wildcats to a 5-1 early-season start.Top high school baseball prospect Taylor Hightower also signed a pair of index cards. Vaden, who was Indiana's 2nd leading scorer as a sophomore, is leading the Blazers in scoring through two games this season, averaging more than 22 points while shooting better than 60% from three point range. A Purdue football success topped the day's activity, as QB Curtis Painter, WR Dorien Bryant, RB Kory Sheets, and TE Dustin Keller signed an 8x10 sent to them care of the Purdue athletic department. That request took just 11 days. Painter has thrown for nearly 2700 yards and 24 touchdowns this fall, and his favorite target has been Bryant, who has accumulated nearly 800 yards and 8 scores himself. Sheets is the Boilers' leading rusher with over 700 yards and 6 TDs on the campaign, while Keller has been dangerous himself, hauling in a half-dozen scores and 600 yards worth of passes from Painter.Also signing was Washington head football coach Tyrone Willingham. The junior had a Big Ten-best 8.2 yards per carry last season and has continued his impressive running this fall. For the season thus far, Mendenhall has run for over 1100 yards (more than 120 per game) and a dozen scores.South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier signed an 8x10 photo care of the Gamecocks' athletic department. Last year's Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year will be a senior for the Tigers this winter and is touted as one of the country's top rebounders and shot blockers. In addition, Dorsey also shoots better than 60% from the floor.Fellow big man Richard Hendrix of Alabama also signed a pair of index cards. A pair of basketball successes were in the box on Tuesday following the Monday holiday...East Tennessee State's Courtney Pigram, last year's Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, signed a pair of index cards care of the ETSU athletic department in just 12 days. The junior averaged nearly 18 points per game last season while leading the Bucs to their first ever A-Sun title. Pigram was second best in the conference in steals per game and three-point shots made per game.Also signing was high school hoops star Scotty Hopson of University Heights (KY) Academy. The star running back signed a pair of index cards care of the university's athletic department in just 11 days. The First Team Preseason All-American set the Big East record for rushing yards in a season last year and has already dashed for over 600 yards and 10 touchdowns this fall.Also signing was Oklahoma redshirt freshman QB Sam Bradford. A First Team Academic All-Big XII selection, the sophomore signal-caller has led the Horns to a 4-0 start while throwing for over 1000 yards and 7 touchdowns already this season.Also signing an 8x10 photo I designed was former Maryland quarterback Sam Hollenbach, also a devout Christian. A recap of a very full week at the mailbox...Georgia head coach Mark Richt was kind enough to sign an 8x10 photo I designed myself. That was sent care of the UGA athletic department and was returned in just 16 days. Coach Richt has led the Bullogs to a trio of SEC East titles and two SEC championships since arriving in Athens back in 2001. He is also a solid Christian man and one of the most respected college coaches in the game today.There were also a pair of football successes in the box this week, including former Memphis and current New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski. Though he played both football and baseball at UM, he was one of just two kickers drafted in 2006, and the only one to make a roster.
