The last three weeks have been very good to Dexter Jackson . On Wednesday, things got even better when Jackson inked an exclusive contract with Weider Publications ."It's been a long time coming," Jackson said. "I really just wanted to be a part of the team. I've always wanted to be with Weider. I'm at a good point in my career right now, nearing the end of it. So I wanted to finish [the last few years] off the right way."Jackson is coming off the most successful three-week run of his nine-year professional career, notching three wins in his last three contests to start the 2008 season. Hidetada Yamagishi to Compete at 2008 IFBB Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Champion

Pro Bodybuilding Weekly interviewed IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Hidetada Yamagishi for the first time since his release from jail. Hide Yamagishi was arrested and charged with steroid possession and distribution in December 2007; he was released after 65 days in jail after his attorney had all felony charges dismissed. His travel visa was revoked.Yamagishi told Dan Solomon and Bob Cicherillo of Pro Bodybuilding Weekly that he is currently working to obtain a visa so he can compete at the 2008 IFBB Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Champion ships in Tampa, Florida on August 9, 2008 and possibly the 2008 IFBB Europa Pro show.Hide is not angry or bitter and the events that have occurred over the past few months. Stanford Study: HGH May Build Muscles But Not Boost Athletic Prowess

Human growth hormone may build muscles - but will it make you a faster, stronger and better athlete? Don't count on it, says a new Stanford University study.An analysis of more than two dozen studies of human growth hormone concludes that drug-induced muscles may look impressive - but they don't perform better. In fact, treatment may even cause impairment."What we found suggested that it didn't help - and at some point, it might hurt," said lead investigator Hau Liu, formerly of Stanford and now at San Jose's Valley Medical Center. The study was published in Monday's issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine.There are several large caveats: The studies analyzed by Stanford used doses that are probably far smaller than those taken by athletes. Are you ready for more American Gladiators this Summer, well get ready because NBC has announced Seaon 2 will premiere with a two-hour event on Monday May 12th, 2008 at 7p.m. CST.Normal Monday night episodes will be 90-minutes long this year starting May 19th on NBC.And yes there will be new second season events and new American Gladiators that will be announced in the coming weeks.One of the new American Gladiators has already been confirmed, Matt Morgan from TNA wrestling will join the cast. TNA wrestling star Matt Morgan has been confirmed as a new American Gladiator for Season 2 according to TNAwrestling.com.“To say I’m excited is a huge understatement,” Morgan told TNAWrestling.com. “Wrestling is in my blood and TNA will always be my home - and the chance to appear on both TNA and American Gladiator s is a major personal accomplishment.”TNA has also noted on their official site that Matt Morgan will remain a full-time wrestler with TNA while filming Season 2 of American Gladiators. Days before the 2008 IFBB Arnold Classic, news was released that IFBB Ms. Figure Olympia Jenny Lynn , had just reached a sponsorship agreement with VPX Sports . She did work their booth at the 2008 Arnold Classic Expo but apparently the product endorsement agreement was not completed in full and signed by both parties. WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy Suspended for Drug Policy Violation

World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended one of its most popular performers for a second violation of the company's drug policy.WWE spokesman Gary Davis says wrestler Jeff Hardy , who has headlined numerous live and pay-per-view events, has been suspended for 60 days. He would not say what drugs were involved. Davis says there have been about 30 suspensions under the WWE substance abuse and drug testing policy begun in 2006, which requires tests for steroids and other drugs. A wrestler faces a 30-day suspension without pay for a first violation, a 60-day suspension for a second violation and firing for a third violation. Performers are tested at least four times per year. Last August, WWE suspended 10 wrestlers for violations of its drug testing policy involve drug purchases, mostly human growth hormones. Jay Cutler Settles Lawsuit Against Supplement Company

IFBB Pro Jay Cutler has settled a lawsuit claiming a nutritional supplement company used his image without permission.The terms of Cutler's settlement with Omaha, Nebraska-based NDS Nutritional Products Inc. were not revealed in court papers released Monday. The 34-year-old Las Vegas resident filed suit in July 2006 in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming misappropriation of image and likeness, invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment. It claimed NDS used an image based on a photograph of Cutler, the reigning IFBB Mr. Olympia, taken at a bodybuilding contest and placed it on its products without paying him or getting his permission. This is his third win since 2004 matching the number of IFBB Arnold Classic titles Jackson has now won.Melvin Anthony finished second, whith Moe Elmoussawi 3rd, Toney Freeman 4th, Troy Alves 5th, and Ronnie Rockel 6th. Inside Bodybuilding would like to wish IFBB Pro Female Bodybuilder Pavla Brantalova a big Happy Birthday today.For those not familiar with Pavla Brantalova, she was born in the Czech Republic in 1977. She achieved acclaim in bodybuilding circles by competing successfully at the international level. Brantalova won the lightweight division at the European Bodybuilding Championship in 1998. She placed third in the lightweight division at the 1998 IFBB World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships and second in the lightweight division at the 1999 IFBB Jan Tana Classic. She competed at a weight ranging from 115-125 pounds at a height of 5'3" and was known for a physique that was particularly well-developed for someone of her age.Pavla has retired from bodybuilding and now works as a nurse in California.
